2024 RTSports Outlook

Thielen saw his numbers dip again last year, finishing with 716 yards. He was 30th overall in fantasy receiver scoring. The positive was he caught 70 passes, giving him 70-plus catches two of three seasons. Thielen is slowing down some at this stage of his career, but can still help NFL teams. He has a great track record and has been a top red-zone target in recent seasons. He signed with the Panthers this offseason and will become a big part of their passing attack. Thielen is a playmaker. He runs top routes and can be a big-play threat despite lacking some top-end speed for the position. He has plus hands and a knack for making clutch plays. Fantasy Outlook:   Thielen remains a great red-zone threat, but his reception and yardage totals are trending down. Consider him a top No. 3 or 4 fantasy receiver. His numbers might improve a little from last year with a move to Carolina but don't expect a big jump. He can get around 80 receptions for 900 yards and six or so scores.

Player Notes
Jan 7 5:40pm ET

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen caught two of his three targets for 12 yards in a 9-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18. Thielen was quiet in the season finale, although his 12 receiving yards were good enough for second-most on the team on an afternoon where Bryce Young only threw for 94 yards. Thielen finishes his first season with the Panthers with 103 catches for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns. He's under contract with Carolina for two more seasons with a potential out after the 2024 campaign.

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen caught two passes for 12 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18. He was targeted three times during the game.

From TheHuddle

Jan 6 8:00am ET

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen caught six passes for just 38 yards in a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. He will look to finish off the season on a high note in a home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18. The Bucs have been a plus matchup for wide receivers this season as they are allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to the position. Thielen is in play as a high-end WR3 in leagues with Week 18 championships and also as a decent flex option in DFS cash games.

From RotoBaller

Jan 4 2:30pm ET

Carolina Panthers wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. (foot) was able to log a full practice session after being limited by a foot injury on Wednesday. With Jonathan Mingo (foot) now on injured reserve, a healthy Chark would operate as a clear number two behind Adam Thielen against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers soft pass defense in Week 18. When the teams last squared off in Week 13, Chark came up with three catches on four targets for 53 yards. Even in a plus matchup, it will be hard to trust Chark to produce fantasy-relevant numbers, given that Carolina's offense has generated the fewest yards per game and second-fewest points per game in the league.

Dec 31 9:30pm ET

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen caught all six of his targets for 38 yards in a 26-0 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 17. Thielen led the Panthers in all receiving categories but averaged just 6.3 yards per catch in a game where Bryce Young only threw for 112 yards. Thielen will finish off the 2023 season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18.

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen ended up with six receptions for a team-high 38 yards on his six targets in Week 17 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

From TheHuddle

Dec 30 9:30am ET

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen hauled in six of eight targets for 94 yards in a Week 16 loss to the Green Bay Packers. He will look to keep it going against the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road in Week 17. The Jaguars have been generous to opposing receivers in 2023 as they are allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to the position. Thielen hasn't been as consistent as he was earlier in the season but the matchup sets up favorably for him this weekend. Treat him as a high-end WR3 in the fantasy championship round.

Also, RB Chuba Hubbard (hamstring), CB Donte Jackson (ankle), and LB Claudin Cherelus (knee) were limited and OG Cade Mays (ankle), RB Miles Sanders (toe), TE Tommy Tremble (back) and TE Stephen Sullivan (wrist) practiced in full.

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen (rest) did not take part in practice on Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Fantasy Spin: Thielen had a bounce-back game in Week 16, reeling in six of eight targets for 94 yards. While he hasn't found the end zone in two months, Thielen is doing enough to remain a solid flex option going into Week 17.

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen caught six passes for 94 yards against the Green Bay Packers in Week 16. He was targeted eight times during the game.

From TheHuddle

Dec 24 5:00pm ET

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen caught six of his eight targets for 94 yards in a 33-30 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 16. Thielen came alive late in the contest, with four of his catches and 70 of his receiving yards coming in the fourth quarter. The 94 yards go down as Thielen's best effort since his 115-yard performance back in Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins. The veteran wide receiver will likely set up as a flex option heading into a plus matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 17.

From RotoBaller

Dec 23 7:00am ET

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen has been held to 43 or fewer receiving yards in four of his past six contests and hasn't scored a touchdown in eight straight games. Thielen will look to bounce back against a familiar foe in the Green Bay Packers at home in Week 16. The Packers have been solid against wide receivers in 2023 as they are allowing just the 19th-most fantasy points per game to the position thus far. Thielen's recent lack of production paired with the tough matchup leaves him as a low-end WR3 heading into the fantasy playoff semifinals.

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen (rest) did not take part in practice on Wednesday, Dec. 20.

Fantasy Spin: It's just a normal rest day for Thielen, who has fallen off a cliff since producing like a WR1 earlier in the season. He's now more of a middling flex play going into Week 16.

From TheHuddle

Dec 17 5:13pm ET

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen ended up with four receptions for a team-high 43 yards on seven targets in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons.

From TheHuddle

Dec 17 4:40pm ET

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen caught four of his seven targets for 43 yards in a 9-7 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15. Thielen had a modest outing but it was good enough to lead the Panthers in all receiving categories in a game where Bryce Young threw for just 167 yards. Thielen's stock has lowered considerably over the past month as he has been over 43 receiving yards just once in his past four games and hasn't caught a touchdown since back on October 15. Settled in as a low-end WR3 in the fantasy playoffs, Thielen will look to get back into the endzone in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers.

From RotoBaller

Dec 16 7:10am ET

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen struggled in Weeks 12 and 13 with just four catches for 27 yards but he bounced back in Week 14's loss to the New Orleans Saints, catching five passes for 74 yards. He will look to continue on an upward trajectory as the Panthers take on the Atlanta Falcons at home in Week 15. The Falcons have been tough on opposing wide receivers this year as they are allowing just the 29th-most fantasy points per game to the position. The state of the Carolina passing game is not great as the team hasn't thrown a passing touchdown in three straight games as rookie quarterback Bryce Young continues to take way too many sacks. Thielen earns consideration as a low-end WR3 this weekend but he isn't a must-start if you have better options available.

From TheHuddle

Dec 13 3:13pm ET

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen (rest) did not take part in practice on Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Fantasy Spin: It's just a normal rest day for Thielen. After two no-show weeks, Thielen had a better outing in Week 14 but is still not producing at the elite levels he was in the first half of the season. Consider him more of a borderline WR2 moving forward.

From TheHuddle

Dec 10 5:20pm ET

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen caught five of his seven targets for 74 yards in a 28-6 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 14. Thielen wound up leading the team in catches and receiving yards while finishing second in targets in the lopsided loss. It was an encouraging outing for Thielen, who had caught just four passes for 27 yards over his previous two games combined. That being said, Panthers quarterback Bryce Young's struggles have increased as the season has gone on. Back in the trustworthy WR3 realm in fantasy after his solid Week 14, Thielen will look to stay hot in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons.
