2024 RTSports Outlook

Adams had another huge season, finishing second overall in fantasy receiver scoring. He had a career high in receptions (123) and yards (1,553). He also scored 11 touchdowns. Adams had six games with 30-plus fantasy points. He was targeted double-digit times eight games. Adams has been arguably the best receiver in football the last several seasons. He has 110-plus catches three of four seasons and double-digit touchdowns five of six seasons. Adams heads to a new team this year, though, getting traded to the Raiders. He will be the top target for his new team but moves to a passing game that isn't quite as dynamic. Adams is a big, athletic target that does a good job of making the tough catch. He also has good hands, getting over some drop issues from earlier in his career. Adams has good speed and runs top routes. He is the complete package at receiver. Fantasy Outlook: Adams is a surefire No. 1 fantasy receiver even with the move to Las Vegas. Expect more of the same from him this year but maybe a slight dip in stats. It might take him a little while to get accustomed to his new quarterback and offense. Either way, he should get around 100 receptions, 1,200 yards and 12 or so scores.

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams is highly unlikely to be traded this season based on comments from new general manager Tom Telesco on Tuesday, Feb. 27.

Fantasy Spin: Adams is coming off his fourth consecutive 100-catch season despite playing most of his snaps with Jimmy Garoppolo and Aidan O'Connell. There is a distinct possibility Las Vegas will be able to upgrade that position this offseason, which should only lock Adams in as a top-10 fantasy receiver yet again. Assuming Adams gets the quarterback upgrade, he should be able to improve on last year's 103-1,144-8 line.

Feb 27 2:20pm ET

New Las Vegas Raiders general manager Tom Telesco emphasized on Tuesday that wide receiver Davante Adams isn't going anywhere despite trade rumors. "He's a Raider," Telesco said. Adams is guaranteed a full $16.89 million base salary in 2024 and has three years left on his current deal. Adams broke a streak of six straight Pro Bowl appearances in 2023, although he still managed to catch over 100 passes (103) for the fourth straight year while gaining 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns in 17 games. The 31-year-old could become more inconsistent as the Raiders look for an upgrade at quarterback through the draft, but it's hard to debate his WR1 worth in fantasy after posting four straight 1,000-yard seasons while finding the end zone 51 times since 2020.

Dynasty | The Jets and Aaron Rodgers are reportedly interested in acquiring Davante Adams. Dynasty Analysis: Unfortunately for New York, the Raiders are reportedly not interested in trading Adams to the Jets or anywhere else this off-season. It was a weird season for Adams, who posted a 103/1,144/8 line but struggled to do much of anything during a long stretch of the season. Adams will need to have a better quarterback situation next year to really be relied upon as an elite option again. At this point, his dynasty value arrow is pointing down and no change of scenery isn't going to help if the Raiders stand firm.

Feb 11 5:03pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams will not be made available in a trade this offseason, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Spin: Adams has posted at least 1,000 yards in each of the last four seasons and has expressed his happiness with the team's hiring of offensive coordinator Luke Getsy. He will be a focal point in the passing game no matter who the quarterback will be and should be a weekly starting option in all leagues next season.

The NFL informed Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams that he won't be disciplined for shoving a photographer after a 2022 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to sources. Prosecutors dismissed a misdemeanor assault charge against Adams last summer, but the league's probe into the matter remained opened until now. Fantasy managers considering taking the 31-year-old All-Pro wideout in drafts this fall will not have to worry about him opening up the 2024 with a suspension. Adams remains one of the best pass-catchers in the game and has four straight 1,000-yard seasons and four straight 100-catch seasons, but 2023 was also the first season without recording double-digit touchdowns since 2019.

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams said he is happy that the team hired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy because he worked with Getsy when both were with the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Spin: Adams is coming off a productive 2023 season and will continue to be the main option in the passing game next season. He likely will be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues next season.

Jan 13 12:00pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce has emerged as the leading candidate to become the team's full-time head coach with the support of key players there, according to league sources. There will be other options for Raiders owner Mark Davis to consider, but as one source said, "I would be blown away if Antonio weren't the pick." All-Pro pass-rusher Maxx Crosby reportedly is set to request a trade from the organization if the Raiders pass on keeping Pierce as their full-time head coach. Pierce took over for Josh McDaniels, who was fired midseason, and the team finished 5-4 under Pierce. In addition to Crosby, receiver Davante Adams has been vocal in his support of Pierce to stick around in the head-coaching position. Pierce played linebacker in the NFL from 2001-09, with his later years including a Super Bowl championship with the New York Giants.

Jan 7 7:30pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams led the team in targets again in Week 18 against the Denver Broncos. Despite being guarded by Patrick Surtain II, Adams earned a team-high eight targets in the Raiders Week 18 win. In this contest, Adam brought in five of his eight targets for 46 yards and a touchdown. The veteran wide receiver had a pedestrian outing compared to his massive performance in Week 17, but he salvaged his day with a score. Adams' fantasy production was less consistent than in seasons past, but he proved to still be an elite producer at the wide receiver position. It remains to be seen who will be throwing Adams passes next season, but he will be able to produce regardless of who is under center.

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams had a tremendous performance in Week 17 against the Indianapolis Colts. Adams caught 13 passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns on 21 targets on the road against Indianapolis. Despite middling quarterback play all season, Adams had good performances based on incredible volume. The Raiders face the Denver Broncos for the regular season finale in Week 18. The Broncos have a decent secondary, headlined by their star corner, Patrick Surtain II. Adams will likely face Surtain for most of this contest, so fantasy managers playing in Week 18 should temper expectations. That said, Adams sees a colossal target share every week, so the opportunity for a big performance is always on the table. Fantasy managers know Adams is a must-start every week.

Dynasty | Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams had 13 catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns in a loss against the Colts. Dynasty Analysis: Sure, why not. Anyone who had Adams in the semifinals and saw him catch one pass for four yards had to be shaking their head at this one. While this was a clear reminder of the talent he is, it was too little, too late for most dynasty managers. Still, this pushes Adams close to the 100-catch mark as he now has a 98/1,098/7 line on the year. There will be tons of speculation this off-season as to his future as teams like the Jets seem intent on adding his services, We'll see what happens but Adams looks like an aging WR1/2 going into the off-season.

Dec 31 4:20pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams led the team in receptions and receiving yards in the loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Adams brought in 13 catches on 21 targets for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Despite the strong performance from Adams, the Raiders lost the game and dropped to 7-9 on the season. The Raiders take on the Denver Broncos in Week 18. Adams will likely be covered by star corner Patrick Surtain II in that contest. Despite the tough matchup, Adams is a must-start every week because of his massive role in the Las Vegas offense. Fantasy managers should feel confident about starting Adams after this strong performance.

From RotoBaller

Dec 30 2:50am ET

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams had an abysmal game in Week 16 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Adams finished the game with one reception for four yards on six targets. Despite the poor performance, the Raiders still won the game due to two defensive touchdowns. The Raiders take on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17. The Colts allow the seventh-fewest fantasy points and 10th-fewest receiving yards per game to wide receivers. The majority of damage against the Colts comes on the ground, so the Raiders starting running back this week could be in for a big game. Despite the absence of rookie tight end Michael Mayer this week, Adams will likely see around the same target share as every other game this season. Fantasy managers who made it to the championship with Adams on their team may be in for another pedestrian performance in Week 17.

Dec 25 9:13pm ET

Dynasty | Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams had one catch for four yards in the Raiders win against the Chiefs. Dynasty Analysis: We've seen Adams post some rough days this season but this was his worst game of the year by far. Adams has just 86 catches for 976 yards and five touchdowns on the season, making it his worst year in the better part of the last decade. Adams' future in Las Vegas seems to be cloudy and while he's under contract for next season, it's fair to wonder if the next couple of weeks could be his swan song in Sin City. Better days should be ahead as we end the season but the thought of Adams being a must play are clearly by the wayside.

Dec 24 12:10am ET

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams had eight catches on 12 targets for 101 yards and a touchdown in the Week 15 beatdown of the Los Angeles Chargers. Adams saw double-digit targets for the seventh time this season. Adams was on the injury report heading into last week's matchup, but the star receiver is healthy this week. Adams will face off against Chiefs shadow corner L'Jarius Sneed on Monday. The last time the two matched up, Adams finished the game with five catches for 73 yards. Despite the tough matchup, the Raiders offense looked unstoppable against the Chargers last week, so Adams is still a must-start. Raiders rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell trusts Adams and will likely force-feed him again this week. It should also be noted that Adams is only 32 receiving yards away from another 1,000-yard season, so he's probably a lock for at least 33 yards. Fantasy managers should trust Adams this week in the fantasy playoffs.

Dec 15 6:10am ET

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams had eight receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets in the Week 15 blowout against the Los Angeles Chargers. Adams was easily the top target for the Raiders, but everyone got involved in the 63-point scoring night. The Raiders star receiver caught his touchdown on a pass thrown from fellow receiver Jakobi Meyers. The Raiders offense was clicking on all cylinders, and Adams was able to produce despite being questionable coming into the contest. The Raiders take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 16. Adams will likely draw the coverage of shadow corner L'Jarius Sneed, but the explosiveness of the Raiders offense on Thursday night should give fantasy managers optimism for this matchup. Adams proved he is still a superstar receiver, and fantasy managers should continue to start him every week regardless of the matchup.
