2024 RTSports Outlook

Hurts had a breakout second season as the starter for the Eagles. He was third overall in fantasy quarterback scoring and had an unbelievable showing in the Super Bowl. He had 12 games with 20-plus fantasy points, including eight games with more than 30 points. Hurts scored 35 total touchdowns, including 13-rushing touchdowns. He had more than 700-rushing yards and threw for 3,701-passing yards. Hurts showed much improved accuracy, having the seventh best on target percentage in football (77.8 percent). Hurts completed 66.5 percent of his passes after completing 61.3 percent the previous season. Hurts continues to make strides as a starting quarterback in the NFL. He should continue to make improvements. Hurts is an improving passer that makes a ton of plays with his legs. He has 700-plus rushing yards two straight seasons. His arm strength isn't top notch but good enough to date. His accuracy continues to make strides but he does miss on some throws he should make. He also can hold onto the ball too long at times.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Hurts has moved into the elite category of fantasy quarterbacks. He is a top-five option at the position, capable of finishing first overall. His rushing totals give him a very high weekly floor. Look for around 4,000-passing yards, 40 total scores and 800-rushing yards.

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to hire Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to be their new offensive coordinator. Moore is one of the top offensive coordinators around and was being blocked from interviews with other teams until Jim Harbaugh became the new head coach for the Chargers. Moore will now land in Philadelphia after having an interview with the Cleveland Browns for the same position. He will be replacing Brian Johnson, who was fired earlier this week after just one year on the job. The 35-year-old Moore was in LA for just one year. He will take over an Eagles offense that regressed in 2023, with quarterback Jalen Hurts throwing a career-high 15 interceptions. Philly's offense slipped from third in points per game to seventh, from ninth in passing yards per game to 16th and from fifth in rushing yards to eighth.

Jan 16 10:40am ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 25 of 35 passes for 250 yards and one touchdown, adding one carry for five yards during the team's 9-32 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 25-year-old didn't make many mistakes but was unable to put the team into scoring range consistently without A.J. Brown (knee). Over half of Hurts' passing yards went to DeVonta Smith. The Eagles' offense was in shambles at the end of the year and could not get things turned around by the start of the playoffs. There are bound to be plenty of changes to the coaching staff and roster come September, but Hurts will remain a top-five fantasy quarterback because when he is healthy and has his full complement of weapons, he is as good as any other.

Jan 13 5:10pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (finger) doesn't have an injury designation ahead of Monday's Wild-Card contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The star signal-caller exited early during the regular season finale due to dislocated middle finger. He was limited in practice to start the week, but was able to get in back-to-back full practice sessions to close out the practice week. It doesn't sound like Hurts is going to be limited at all during Monday's contest. He'll be without star wideout A.J. Brown (knee) for this game. That means, DeVonta Smith, Julio Jones, and Dallas Goedert will need to step up in the receiving game. Hurts will be a high-priced, but solid DFS option for this weekend's slate.

Jan 12 8:40pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will go on the road to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday during the first week of the NFL playoffs. The 25-year-old did suffer a finger injury during last week's loss to the New York Giants that looked pretty gruesome, but he was a full participant in practice on Friday and was throwing the ball. Hurts had a rough five-week stretch to end the season but salvaged a few games due to scoring rushing touchdowns. With that said, he now has to go on the road to take on a Tampa Bay defense that has been a favorable matchup for quarterbacks this past regular season. The only issue is the potential loss of star receiver A.J. Brown (knee), who has yet to return to practice. Due to his high price point, Hurts is a risky option in DFS.

Jan 12 6:40pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (finger) was a full participant in practice on Friday, a day after he was limited on Thursday. Hurts dislocated the middle finger on his throwing hand in the Week 18 loss to the New York Giants, but X-rays came back negative and the 25-year-old should be good to go for Monday night's wild-card playoff game in Tampa against the Buccaneers. Hurts' return to a full practice should ease anyone's concerns that he might not have been ready to play this weekend, but he could still be somewhat compromised with his throwing on Monday night. Add in the fact that top wideout A.J. Brown (knee) is looking questionable to play, and the QB2 in fantasy during the regular season is looking a bit shaky as a high-priced QB option in DFS for the wild-card slate.

From RotoBaller

Jan 12 12:10pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (finger) did not throw the ball much at all, if at all, during the team's practice on Thursday, according to a source. It's a tough injury for Hurts, who dislocated the middle finger on his right throwing hand in the Week 18 loss to the New York Giants. Hopefully he will be able to throw more before heading to Tampa on Sunday to prepare to face the Buccaneers in the wild-card playoff game on Monday night. The 25-year-old was the QB2 in overall fantasy points during the regular season, behind only Josh Allen, but he's trending toward being a pretty shaky DFS play during wild-card weekend, especially at such a high price point. On top of Hurts' own injury, his top two wideouts -- A.J. Brown (knee) and DeVonta Smith (ankle) -- are also beat up and could be playing at less than 100 percent.

Jan 11 3:30pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (finger) was present at Thursday's practice and was wearing a glove on his injured throwing hand. Hurts suffered a grotesque dislocation of the middle finger on his right hand in the Week 18 regular season finale loss to the New York Giants but returned to the game. But X-rays were negative for any fractures, and the 25-year-old is expected to play on Monday for the wild-card playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Hurts was a high-end QB1 for fantasy managers again in 2023, although he carries plenty of bust potential into the first round of the playoffs because of his finger injury and with injuries to his top two wideouts in A.J. Brown (knee) and DeVonta Smith (ankle). Hurts is the second-most expensive fantasy signal-caller on DraftKings, behind only Josh Allen.

From RotoBaller

Jan 8 12:10pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (finger) underwent X-rays that showed no fracture in the middle finger on his throwing hand that he dislocated in the Week 18 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday, according to sources. Hurts said he's taking it day by day and will have an extra day to heal up with the Eagles facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road on wild-card weekend next Monday night. The 25-year-old went just 7-for-16 for 55 yards and an interception before leaving the game for good. Hurts and the Eagles offense are slumping heading into the postseason. Although he should be good to go to play against Tampa next Monday night, he could be without receiver DeVonta Smith (ankle). Hurts' and the Eagles' offense's stock are down, but he should still be considered a top-five QB option for DFS lineups against a Bucs defense that was a top-10 matchup for QBs during the regular season.

From RotoBaller

Jan 7 7:40pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (finger) completed seven of 16 passes for 55 yards and an interception and added two carries for four yards in the team's 27-10 loss to the New York Giants. The 25-year-old was already without receiver DeVonta Smith (ankle) and running back D'Andre Swift (illness) before losing wideout A.J. Brown (knee) early in this contest. To top it all off, the Giants sent a constant blitz, resulting in Hurts smacking his hand on a linebacker's helmet. On the sideline after the play, his middle finger was bent inward, yet he still went out on the next series and continued to throw. The Eagles pulled him soon after with the game out of reach. Philadelphia's offense is completely lost at the moment and they will have to try and figure it out and move past these injuries next week when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road.

Jan 5 8:50pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will go on the road to take on the New York Giants in Week 18. The 25-year-old threw three touchdowns last week in a losing effort to the Arizona Cardinals but will be without No. 2 wide receiver DeVonta Smith (ankle), who was injured toward the end of the game. Even without Smith, Hurts will be a top-tier fantasy option for those playing in redraft leagues and daily, considering the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson are sitting out this weekend. Hurts threw for over 300 yards and tallied two touchdowns two weeks ago in their first meeting against the Giants in Week 16. Consider the Eagles' starting quarterback a top-five fantasy option in the season finale.

Dec 31 6:10pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 18 of 23 passes for 167 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception while adding eight carries for 25 yards during the team's 35-31 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The 25-year-old played a solid game but was benefited by short fields in the first half, hence the low passing yardage total. The offense still was not in synch, electing to throw a ton in the first half against a defense that allowed over 200 yards on the ground last week. With DeVonta Smith (knee) seen in a walking boot after the game and the Giants on deck, Hurts will remain a QB1 in Week 18 but could have his ceiling capped without one of his top weapons.

From RotoBaller

Dec 29 9:10pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will face off against the Arizona Cardinals during the Eagles final home game of the regular season in Week 17. The 25-year-old got back on track for fantasy managers last week after a couple of rough outings and now gets the chance to face an Arizona defense that has struggled to stop opposing passers. The Cardinals allow the ninth-most fantasy points to the quarterback position, are tied for the fourth-most passing touchdowns allowed, and are tied for the fifth-most rushing touchdowns allowed to the position. Arizona is missing plenty of pieces on both sides of the ball at this point and is well out of playoff contention. Philadelphia could elect to ride running backs D'Andre Swift and Kenneth Gainwell in this one, but Hurts should be considered a locked-in top-three option at the quarterback position during many manager's fantasy football championships.

Dec 27 4:30pm ET

Philadelphia's QB Jalen Hurts scored 27.45 fantasy points in Monday's Week 16 win against the Giants. Hurts threw for 301 yards on 24-of-38 with one touchdown and one interception including a pick-6 . It's the 11th time this season Hurts scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.

Dec 25 8:30pm ET

Eagles' QB Jalen Hurts passed for 301 yards on 24-of-38 with one touchdown in Monday's win against the Giants.

Dec 25 8:10pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 24 of 38 passes for 301 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while adding 34 yards on eight carries and an additional score during the team's 33-25 win over the New York Giants. The 25-year-old threw for over 300 yards for the first time since Week 8 and had a solid performance overall. Things got a bit rocky in the third quarter when Hurts started to hyper-target star receiver A.J. Brown, who had seen just one catch in the first half. The Eagles' signal caller then threw an interception on a pass to Dallas Goedert, who fell down on his route and left the defender open for an easy pick-six. Outside of this play, Hurts had a solid bounce-back performance after a rough two-game stretch. With the Arizona Cardinals on deck, Hurts will remain a top-three option heading into fantasy football championships next week.

From RotoBaller

Dec 24 8:10am ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts struggled passing the ball in Week 15 as he threw two interceptions and no touchdowns, but he offset that with two rushing touchdowns in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He will look to bounce back against the New York Giants at home in Week 16. The Giants have been middle-of-the-pack against QBs in 2023 as they are allowing the 17th-most fantasy points per game to the position. Hurts will be a top-three fantasy quarterback heading into Week 16.

From RotoBaller

Dec 20 8:15pm ET

Philadelphia's QB Jalen Hurts scored 25.35 fantasy points in Monday's Week 15 loss in Seattle. Hurts threw for 143 yards on 17-of-31 and two interceptions. It's the 10th time this season Hurts scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.

Dec 19 8:30am ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 17 of 31 passes for 143 yards and two interceptions, adding 13 carries for 82 yards and two rushing touchdowns during the team's 17-20 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. While the 25-year-old was playing at less than 100% due to an illness, he threw two interceptions on crucial drives toward the end of the game that sealed the Eagle's fate. It can not get much worse for Philadelphia as a whole right now, but thankfully for them, the remaining schedule consists of two games against the New York Giants and a game against a struggling Arizona Cardinals. Hurts will remain a locked-in QB1 for fantasy managers that advanced to the second round of their playoffs next week against the Giants.

From RotoBaller

Dec 18 6:00pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (illness) is at Lumen Field in Seattle and will be active to start on Monday night against the Seahawks, according to a source. Hurts began feeling ill on Thursday of last week and didn't practice on Saturday, prompting the Eagles to add him to the injury report with a questionable tag for Monday's game. The 25-year-old flew separately to Seattle to try and avoid getting anyone else on the team sick. He's probably not going to be 100 percent for Monday's game, but fantasy managers that rolled the dice on Hurts will be riding with him to close out Week 15 action. Hurts is hoping to bounce back on Monday after two straight losses in which he only had two touchdowns (one throwing, one rushing).

From RotoBaller

Dec 18 12:10pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (illness) is definitely going to try and play on Monday night against the Seattle Seahawks, according to a source. Hurts had the normal fever, chills and body aches on Sunday, which is why the team downgraded him to questionable for Week 15, but the hope is he's good to go on Monday night. The 25-year-old started feeling ill on Thursday and has been under the weather since, but it sounds like he'll give it a go in Seattle. Hurts probably isn't going to be 100 percent, but if you rolled the dice and stuck with him in fantasy this week, you'll have to just cross your fingers and hope he plays and performs admirably. In a worst-case scenario, backup Marcus Mariota could be added as a last-second fill-in for fantasy managers if Hurts is ruled out 90 minutes before kickoff.
