The Los Angeles Rams will go with Harrison Mevis as their placekicker in Week 10 against the division-rival San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, according to Nate Atkins of The Athletic. Joshua Karty is now the No. 2 kicker, although the Rams will play the kicking situation on a week-to-week basis right now. Atkins writes that the Rams like Mevis for his big leg after he had success in the USFL. Los Angeles signed Mevis to their practice squad earlier this week to compete with the struggling Karty, who has gone 10-for-15 on his field-goal attempts this year and 23-for-26 on extra-point tries in eight games in his second year in the NFL. If it doesn't work out with Mevis, the Rams can turn back to Karty or bring in another kicker from outside the organization. If Mevis proves himself worthy of keeping the job, he could quickly garner fantasy attention in all leagues.

Los Angeles Rams kicker Joshua Karty is facing competition for the starting kicking gig, according to head coach Sean McVay. The organization will have Harrison Mevis compete for the kicking job with Karty ahead of the Week 10 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Karty had a strong rookie campaign where he connected on 84.3 percent of his field goal attempts. The 23-year-old is having a much more difficult time during his sophomore season. Karty is 10-for-15 on field goal attempts, while missing three additional extra point kicks. Mevis hasn't kicked in the NFL before and was signed onto the practice squad this week. Neither kicker is an ideal option for the Week 10 contest against the 49ers.

Los Angeles Rams kicker Joshua Karty has a favorable matchup against the New Orleans Saints in Week 9, but he is tough to trust in fantasy lineups following an underwhelming stretch of games. The 23-year-old is 9-for-10 on extra points over his last three contests, but he's just 2-for-4 on field goals during that span. He has just 10 total field goals in 2025 and ranks as the overall K25 to this point. On a positive note, the Saints have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to kickers this season, and RotoBaller's expert rankings have Karty listed as the #6 kicker in Week 9, so perhaps he can bounce back after the bye week. However, managers are advised to peruse the waiver wire for more consistent kickers with better recent track records before settling on someone like Karty purely based on matchup.

Oct 18 11:10am CT

Los Angeles Rams kicker Joshua Karty has struggled with field goals in recent weeks, and as a result, he has slipped off the fantasy radar heading into Week 7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Karty is just 2-for-4 on field goals over his last two games, and he's 8-for-12 over his last four. He has just one made field goal from beyond 50 yards this year. Furthermore, he has missed two extra-point attempts. All in all, the results have been disappointing from Karty, who ranks as the overall K22 in his second pro season. It's not like Week 7 is a get-right opportunity for him, either. The Jaguars have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing kickers in 2025. He should be left on waivers in most leagues.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said he's "not giving up" on the kicking unit and kicker Joshua Karty, despite their rough showing in the 17-3 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6 on Sunday, per Sarah Barshop of ESPN. "Josh Karty is a guy that I'm ready to stick with," McVay said. Karty missed one of his two field-goal tries and made both of his extra-point attempts on the road in Baltimore, but it's the second straight game that he has missed a kick. The 23-year-old's miss on Sunday came from only 26 yards out. Through six weeks, Karty has gone 10-for-14 on field goals and 14-for-16 on his extra points. It sounds like the Rams will stick with Karty in Week 7 in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but if he's shaky again overseas, the team could consider replacements during their bye in Week 8. Fantasy managers should seek more reliable kicking options going forward.

Oct 10 11:50pm CT

Los Angeles Rams kicker Joshua Karty is a top fantasy option heading into Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens. The 23-year-old has been merely mediocre this year, ranking as the overall K18 with just 12 extra points and nine field goals. However, he should pad those stats this week against the Ravens, who have struggled on both sides of the ball. Baltimore has surrendered the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing kickers in 2025, putting Karty in a great position to succeed. Just last week against the Ravens, Ka'imi Fairbairn went 5-for-5 on extra points and 3-for-3 on field goals, including one from at least 50 yards out. Karty will be busy on Sunday, giving him top-five upside in Week 6. For what it's worth, RotoBaller has Karty ranked as the #2 overall kicker in fantasy football this week.

Oct 2 12:20am CT

Los Angeles Rams kicker Joshua Karty has been quite successful recently, and he'll look to remain a top fantasy option heading into Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers. Karty was underwhelming in the Rams' season opener but has averaged 11 fantasy points per game since then. Over his last two games alone, he is 5-for-5 on extra points and 6-for-8 on field goals, including one from beyond 50 yards out. His two misses in Week 3 are a blemish on his season stats, but his heavy kicking volume and ability to make long kicks keep him on the fantasy radar -- even against a 49ers team allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points to opposing kickers.

Sep 27 1:20am CT

Los Angeles Rams kicker Joshua Karty is riding plenty of momentum after a tremendous performance against the Philadelphia Eagles last week. However, he'll fall back off the fantasy radar this week against the Indianapolis Colts for a couple of reasons. First, Karty's four field goals and two extra points last week were likely a statistical anomaly, as he had previously attempted just two field goals over the first two weeks of the season. It's also worth noting that while Karty did make four field goals, he also missed two, indicating some accuracy problems going forward. Furthermore, the Colts' defense has been stingy this year, which rubs off on kicker fantasy value. In fact, Indianapolis has allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to kickers in 2025. Managers should feel compelled to add someone else off waivers this week and leave Karty untouched.

Sep 20 11:00am CT

Los Angeles Rams kicker Joshua Karty can be left on waivers in most fantasy leagues ahead of his Week 3 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. First of all, Karty himself has been underwhelming this season, going 5-for-6 on extra points and only having two field goal attempts. Quite simply, the Rams are scoring too many touchdowns and aren't stalling enough in field goal territory for Karty to produce points. Additionally, Karty is headed for a relatively tricky matchup this week against the Eagles, who have surrendered the 15th-fewest fantasy points to kickers in 2025. Managers in most leagues can find better kicking options than Karty this week.

From RotoBaller

Sep 13 10:50am CT

Los Angeles Rams kicker Joshua Karty is not a top fantasy option for Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans. Karty has been tough to trust on a week-by-week basis in his young career, leaving fantasy managers looking elsewhere for a high-ceiling option at the kicker position. Karty only attempted two kicks -- both successful extra points -- in the season opener, leaving him with a high success rate but low points total. He does carry more upside into Week 2 against a struggling Titans team, but he's merely a fringe top-15 fantasy option. He's startable in leagues with at least 14 teams but can probably be avoided in smaller formats.

From RotoBaller

Sep 6 2:20pm CT

Los Angeles Rams kicker Joshua Karty is a fringe top-12 fantasy option heading into Sunday's season opener against the Houston Texans. With a strong offense in place, Los Angeles should be able to move the football quite well, even against an above-average Texans defense. This should lead to several field goal and extra point opportunities for Karty, who went 29-for-34 on field goals and 32-for-36 on extra points as a rookie last year. SoFi Stadium's ability to protect kicks from elements such as wind also benefits Karty, especially if he attempts any long-distance kicks on Sunday. RotoBaller's experts have the Stanford product ranked as the overall K11 this week, making him startable in leagues with at least 12 teams.
