Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup only caught two passes in a Week 2 comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons. He was able to gain 58 yards and was targeted five times in a game where quarterback Dak Prescott made 47 throws. Gallup was well behind wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper, who each saw nine targets their way, and tight end Dalton Schultz, who saw 10. Gallup will have some huge games here and there, but he's the least likely of the three Cowboys wide receivers to put together a consistent string of fantasy performances. He's best used in best-ball formats or carefully matched up in standard leagues.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup is a solid fantasy option in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons and a good chance to find the end zone. Gallup had a tough matchup in Week 1 but ended up with 50 yards on three catches. The Falcons Defense, however, allowed 56 passing plays that went for 20 yards or more last season. That's Gallup's game, and he should be the target of at least a few deep balls from quarterback Dak Prescott. Gallup comes into Week 2 as a high-ceiling WR2.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup made three catches in Week 1, gaining 50 yards. Gallup was targeted five times, meanwhile Amari Cooper saw 14 targets and rookie CeeDee Lamb saw six. Still, Gallup was on the field for 69 snaps along with Cooper and while he may have a very high ceiling on any given week, he also could have the lowest floor. He's a good bet to reach more of his ceiling in Week 2 against the Falcons, though.
Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup had three receptions for 50 yards against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1.
Fantasy Spin: Obviously what people will remember about Gallup on Sunday night was his late offensive pass interference penalty -- a call that denied the Cowboys a first down deep in LA territory and also took a lot of yards off of Gallup's total. His five targets were third on the team, trailing both Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb. Although Gallup has WR2 upside, he's a safer play as No. 3 fantasy wideout right now.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup makes for a solid WR3 option in Week 1 fantasy lineups. Like usual, Gallup carries nice upside and a formidable floor in a fast-paced Dallas offense. Coach Mike McCarthy says Gallup is, "a number one wide receiver in [his] view." Incoming rookie CeeDee Lamb could eat into some of Gallup's targets this season, but he might also open things up a bit more on the field. Gallup is a solid fantasy wide receiver who won't usually win you the matchup on his own, but will rarely ever be the reason you lose either.
Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup is 'a No. 1 receiver,' according to head coach Mike McCarthy. 'Let's make it clear, Michael Gallup's a No. 1 receiver in my view,' McCarthy said.
Fantasy Spin: The addition of CeeDee Lamb to the receiving corps has Gallup flying under the radar a bit, but he posted more than 1,100 yards last year in just his second season. He should still be considered a WR3 in what should be a high-powered Dallas passing attack.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup has been a standout player to new coach Mike McCarthy who called the third-year player "a number-one receiver." McCarthy added that Gallup was one of the most explosive players he noticed when watching Cowboys film prior to the season. In 2019 Gallup caught 66 passes for over 1,100 yards and six touchdowns while becoming just the third Cowboy to record 1,000 yards in their second season. Gallup will have more competition for targets with the team using a first-round pick on CeeDee Lamb, but the trio of Gallup, Lamb and Amari Cooper should all have room to thrive in a Dallas offense that was second in the NFL in pass yards last season. Draft Gallup with confidence as a WR3.
Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup became only the 70th player in league history to amass at least 1,100 receiving yards in his first and/or second NFL season in 2019.
Fantasy Spin: Gallup recorded one of the quieter 1,100-yard receiving seasons in and promptly went from an under-the-radar fantasy prospect in 2020 to the forgotten man in the Cowboys' passing attack as soon as they drafted CeeDee Lamb. Things are lining up nicely for Dallas to throw the ball all over the field this year, and it seems more probable than not Gallup will enjoy another 1,000-yard campaign. Gallup should be viewed as a WR3 in fantasy this summer with significant upside.
Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup was charged with 11 drops in 2019 - the second-highest total in the league.
Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup had 39 catches for 686 yards and five touchdowns in November and December last season compared to 27 catches, 421 yards and one touchdown in the first two months of the year.
Fantasy Spin: Gallup had more receptions, yards and touchdowns in the final two months of 2019 than he did in his entire rookie season, and he and Amari Cooper suddenly look like one of the better receiver duos heading into 2020. For his part, Gallup should be a WR3 with upside.
