Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (knee) isn't expected to require offseason surgery on his previously dislocated kneecap, according to head coach Andy Reid Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Fantasy Spin: Reid added Mahomes has been throwing with free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Saints) this offseason and "looks good." There shouldn't be any concern over the former MVP, and he'll be either the first or second QB off the board in 2020 drafts.

Feb 25 1:40pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that he doesn't think quarterback Patrick Mahomes (knee) will need surgery after dislocating his kneecap in the middle of the season. "Right now he looks good," Reid said. "He was out throwing with Dez (Bryant) the other day so he looked like he was slinging it around pretty good. I think hes fine." Mahomes missed two games because of the knee injury, but he was just fine when he returned and led the Chiefs to the Super Bowl title over the 49ers. He wasn't quite as good in 2019 as he was when he won the MVP in 2018, but Mahomes is the most dynamic quarterback in the NFL and will be the top signal-caller off the boards in 2020 drafts, even if he has offseason surgery.

Feb 7 12:10pm ET

The Kansas City Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes are both committed to getting a long-term extension done this offseason in order to try and build a dynasty in KC, and there's no question that Mahomes will become the highest-paid player in the NFL when that happens. He'll be in line to make an average salary of over $25 million per season. But the Chiefs will be mindful of how Mahomes' contract will affect the rest of the roster, and the most likely timetable that they get an extension with Mahomes done will be sometime after the draft. The 24-year-old just completed his third NFL season and has already won an MVP and a Super Bowl MVP. He's the real deal and will be the first QB off the board in fantasy drafts in 2020.

From RotoBaller

Feb 7 9:33am ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes' most likely window for a contract extension is sometime after the NFL draft.

Fantasy Spin: Mahomes is likely to break the bank in a contract extension, and he will probably be in the discussion for the No. 1 overall pick in fantasy. It has been several years since we could make a case for a quarterback atop the draft because it's usually so deep. That's still probably a little overzealous, but don't be surprised if that leap is taken in a lot of leagues.

Feb 3 11:33pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes joined Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger and New England Patriots QB Tom Brady as the only quarterbacks to win a Super Bowl before the age of 25. Both Roethlisberger and Brady have gone on to win multiple titles in their careers.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was named the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl LIV Sunday, Feb. 2, becoming the youngest player to win the award.

From TheHuddle

Feb 2 10:33pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 26 of his 42 passes for 286 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, and he rushed nine times for 29 yards and a touchdown in a 31-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV Sunday, Feb. 2. RB Damien Williams rushed 17 times for 104 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 29 yards and a score. WR Tyreek Hill caught nine of his 16 targets for 105 yards, WR Sammy Watkins hauled in five passes for 98 yards, and TE Travis Kelce caught all six of his targets for 43 yards and a touchdown. SS Bashaud Breeland finished with a team-high seven tackles, including two tackles for loss, and a pass defensed.

Feb 2 10:33am ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (knee) is still not fully recovered from the dislocated kneecap which caused him to miss several games during the regular season. However, he is not expected to need offseason surgery and should be completely healthy entering next year following a period of rest and rehab.

Fantasy Spin: Mahomes has continued to perform at a high level despite not being at 100 percent, with 615 passing yards, eight passing touchdowns, a rushing touchdown and no interceptions through his first two games of this year's playoffs. He should be one of the first quarterbacks selected in all fantasy drafts next season.

From TheHuddle

Jan 30 2:33pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has compiled a 10-1 record against defenses that have finished in the regular season's top 10 in terms of the fewest passing yards per game allowed, including a 5-0 mark this season. That's the best record among quarterbacks in that scenario (minimum five starts).

Fantasy Spin: Mahomes also has excelled in the postseason, throwing for at least 278 yards in each of his first four games and accounting for 13 total TDs and no turnovers overall. In other words, don't be scared off by the matchup with the 49ers' D.

Jan 28 3:33pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is eligible for an contract extension, but team chairman Clark Hunt said the two sides may not reach an agreement this offseason. Hunt said signing Mahomes to an extension is a priority, but it needs to be at the right time for both sides.

Fantasy Spin: Mahomes is one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and will receive a new deal at some point. He should be one of the first quarterbacks selected in all fantasy drafts in 2020.

From TheHuddle

Jan 28 2:50pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said the team could wait until next year to sign quarterback Patrick Mahomes to a long-term contract extension. "I don't want to say necessarily it has to be this offseason, but I will say that it's a priority to get him done," Hunt said. A first-round pick in 2017, Mahomes is eligible for a contract extension now that he's finished his third year in the NFL, but it sounds like the Chiefs aren't exactly in a hurry to get something done. The 24-year-old didn't post the gaudy numbers he had in 2018 -- 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns -- but he was still more than adequate with 4,031 yards, 26 touchdowns and only five interceptions in 14 games. Mahomes is an elite signal-caller with exceptional athleticism with both his arm and legs. He's here to stay as a high-end QB1 and will take on the 49ers in the Super Bowl this Sunday.

Jan 25 12:43pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes reminds retired QB Brett Favre of himself with some of the traits he has displayed on the field. 'I see the comparison,? Favre said. 'He may not admit this but he probably feels there is no throw he can't make or no angle he can't make it from. Whether he's flushed left or to the right, his vision always is down the field. I was always looking for the big play first and knew I could always react underneath if I needed, too. You have to have a certain confidence or air about you that you can make any throw, and it has been proven he can make any throw.'

Fantasy Spin: Mahomes is off to a particularly impressive start in the postseason with 13 total touchdowns (including two rushing), 1,313 total yards (125 rushing) and no interceptions in four playoff contests over two seasons. He'll challenge Lamar Jackson for first-QB-off the-board fantasy honors this summer.

From TheHuddle

Jan 19 11:13pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes' 87 passing touchdowns in his first 35 games, including playoffs, are the most in NFL history. His 11 passing touchdowns and 142 pass attempts without an interception to begin his playoff career are both the most on record, and he is one of just two players to have at least 250 passing yards, three or more passing touchdowns and at least 50 rushing yards in multiple career playoff games.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was phenomenal in the AFC Championship game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. He completed 23 of 35 passing attempts for 294 yards and three touchdowns. Mahomes also had eight rushing attempts for 53 yards and a touchdown. It was a fantastic performance for Mahomes and DFS players who stuck with him despite the high price are smiling now. The Chiefs are heading to the Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 23-for-35, passing for 294 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions Sunday, Jan. 19, against the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game. He also ran for 53 yards and a touchdown. RB Damien Williams rushed 17 times for 45 yards and a touchdown, adding five receptions for 44 yards. WR Tyreek Hill caught five of seven targets for 67 yards and two touchdowns, while WRs Sammy Watkins paced the team with seven catches on 10 looks, 114 yards and a touchdown. TE Travis Kelce was held to three catches for 30 yards on four targets. SS Tyrann Mathieu led all Chiefs with nine total tackles (six solo), chipping in a pass deflection.

From TheHuddle

Jan 18 4:40pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is set to battle with the Tennessee Titans for the AFC Championship on Sunday. Mahomes is coming off a five touchdown performance against the Houston Texans last week. He's already faced off against the Titans once this season and Mahomes didn't disappoint. He threw for 446 yards and three touchdowns in that game. DFS players should be able to lean on Mahomes to at least be efficient on Sunday. He has a solid chance of being the best quarterback out of the bunch in the division title games.

From RotoBaller

Jan 12 7:40pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes looked super human in Sunday's Divisional Round victory over the Houston Texans. Mahomes completed 23 of 35 passing attempts for 321 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran seven times for 53 yards in the 51-31 win. It's hard to imagine Mahomes putting together a better performance than he did on Sunday. The Chiefs advance to play the Tennessee Titans next weekend in the AFC Championship Round. Fantasy players should expect Mahomes to come back down to Earth against the respectable Titans Defense.

From RotoBaller

Jan 12 6:43pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 23-of-35 passes for 321 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's AFC Divisional Round win over the Houston Texans. He also led the team with 53 rushing yards on seven attempts. RB Damien Williams ran 12 times for 47 yards with two touchdowns, while adding two grabs for 21 yards and a third score. TE Travis Kelce had a monster game with 10 grabs, 134 yards and three touchdowns. WR Sammy Watkins had two grabs for 76 yards and he added 14 rushing yards. WR Tyreek Hill ran three times for 41 yards with a four-yard run and one lost fumble. WR Mecole Hardman was good for two receptions and 19 yards, while WR Demarcus Robinson ended his day with one catch for four yards on four targets.

From TheHuddle

Jan 9 8:50pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes didn't exactly finish the regular season on a strong note, but fantasy owners shouldn't hold that against him. He'll get a fantastic chance to rebound versus the Texans on Sunday. Houston has a below average pass defense and Mahomes should easily capitalize on that. He has unbelievable options with Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Damien Williams has stepped up in the passing game. Mahomes should be considered a top tier fantasy option at quarterback for this weekend's contests.

From RotoBaller

Jan 6 3:40pm ET

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt (pectoral) played just 16 of 36 defensive snaps in the first half of the wild-card win over the Bills, but he saw 34 of 44 snaps in the second half. Houston's pass rush came to life in the second half, and Watt had a big sack of quarterback Josh Allen to force a field goal. Watt was surprised how well his body held up after the game after missing two months of the regular season. Getting more out of the All-Pro pass-rusher for an entire game against Kansas City would be huge for the Texans chances of springing the road upset. A healthier Watt is bad news for the entire Chiefs offense, especially quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
