Atlanta Falcons WR JUlio Jones will have a long-term contract extension before training camp arrives, according to 'confident' team sources.

Fantasy Spin: Jones turned 30 in February but posted an NFL-most 1,677 receiving yards last season and is in a good spot to garner the last big contract of his career. As for fantasy 2019, Jones should be one of the top four receivers off the board in any format.

Jun 11 12:30am ET

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones (foot) and linebacker Deion Jones (foot) will not take part in minicamp drills this week as they rehab their respective foot injuries, according to head coach Dan Quinn. Quinn also said that both players are expected to be ready for training camp. Julio Jones, now 30, has fought through nagging injuries in recent seasons but still doesn't seem to skip a beat with his production on the field. He's now recorded five straight 1,000-yard seasons for the Falcons and had 113 receptions for 1,677 yards and eight touchdowns over a full season in 2018. There are increasing injury concerns as he ages, but Jones remains an elite WR1.

Jun 10 11:20pm ET

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, pass-rusher Vic Beasley and linebacker Deion Jones all reported to mandatory minicamp on Monday, according to sources. All of them skipped voluntary organized team activities, but the plan all along was for them to be present at minicamp. Jones is looking for a new contract and will likely get one before the 2019 season starts. Even as he ages, Jones continues to prove that he's an elite wideout worthy of being taken in the first round of fantasy drafts. Jarrett was given the franchise tag this offseason and is hoping to reach a long-term extension before the deadline on July 15.

Jun 10 10:23am ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones, DT Grady Jarrett, LB Vic Beasley and LB Deion Jones reported to mandatory minicamp Monday, June 10, after they skipped voluntary organized team activities.

Jun 6 4:40pm ET

Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn said that wide receiver Julio Jones and linebacker Vic Beasley will be at mandatory minicamp next week, but it's unknown if defensive tackle Grady Jarrett will be in attendance. Jarrett also skipped voluntary spring workouts after signing his franchise tender in April. He's pushing for a long-term deal and will have until July 15 to come to an agreement with the team. Jones is also looking for a long-term extension.

Jun 5 7:43pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones is expected to participate in minicamp next week, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Fantasy Spin: Jones has skipped all of the offseason workouts but should take part in minicamp and likely will receive a contract extension this offseason. He will be one of the first receivers selected in fantasy drafts.

May 20 9:43pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones was not present for the start of organized team activities Monday, May 20.

Fantasy Spin: Jones is talking with the team about a contract extension and may not participate until the mandatory minicamp. Jones continues to be one of the top receivers in the NFL and should be a No. 1 receiver in all fantasy leagues.

May 11 5:13pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones' agent has been talking with the Falcons about a contract extension for Jones, and general manager Thomas Dimitroff said he is very encouraged with the talks. Dimitroff said there is no timetable for an agreement.

Fantasy Spin: Jones has been one of the top receivers in the NFL over the last several seasons and will be a No. 1 receiver in all fantasy leagues again in 2019.

Apr 15 10:43pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones was not present for the start of offseason workouts Monday, April 15, according to a source. He has indicated that he will participate in the mandatory workouts.

Fantasy Spin: Jones likely will receive a contract extension at some point during the offseason and likely will be on the field for the mandatory minicamp. He continues to be one of the top receivers in the NFL and should be a first- or second-round pick in most fantasy leagues.

Apr 15 1:20pm ET

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones is not in attendance for the start of the team's offseason workouts on Monday, according to a source. Jones is looking for a new deal this offseason, but he hasn't set a timetable for anything to get done and he plans on reporting when the workouts become mandatory. Jones didn't attend the start of voluntary workouts last year either. The Falcons have prioritized a new deal with Jones, so we'd expect something to get done. This isn't a huge issue. Despite getting up there in age, Jones, 30, has five straight 1,000-yard seasons and put up 113 receptions and eight touchdowns in 2018. He'll once again be one of the first wideouts off the board in fantasy drafts.

From RotoBaller

Apr 1 12:50pm ET

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones isn't concerned about his contract situation and isn't publicly lobbying to become the league's highest-paid player at his position. The six-time Pro Bowler doesn't seem pressured to get anything done for the time being, as he has two years and $21.026 million left on the five-year, $71.25 million extension he signed in August of 2015. His current average of $14.25 million per year is 11th among receivers. Jones could easily reach $20 million per year with his next contract. He has five straight years of 80-plus catches and 1,400-plus receiving yards. Jones is 133 receiving yards away from moving past Roddy White as the team's all-time leading receiver. Despite his age, Jones remains one of the most productive wideouts in the league.

Mar 28 2:10pm ET

Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank thinks that defensive tackle Grady Jarrett and wide receiver Julio Jones will be "Falcons for life." Atlanta put the $15.2 million franchise tag on Jarrett this offseason and have been negotiating a long-term deal with Jones. Jarrett was a fifth-round pick in 2011, and he and the Falcons can negotiate until July 15. The 25-year-old had 52 total tackles, a career-high six sacks and three forced fumbles in 14 games for Atlanta in 2018 and is only getting better.

Mar 22 12:33pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones and the team is closing in on a contract extension that would pay him $20 million a year over a four- or five-year deal, according to a source. Jones also would receive $50-60 million in new guarantees.

Fantasy Spin: Jones just turned 30 and is eyeing one last mega-deal for his career after leading the league with 1,677 receiving yards last season. He's been a top-10 fantasy wideout in each of the last five seasons, and there's no reason to expect anything less over the next few seasons.

Mar 21 12:50pm ET

The Atlanta Falcons and wide receiver Julio Jones are both in a good place and plan to continue negotiating with the star wideout on a contract extension. The Falcons also plan to negotiate with defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, who received the $15.2 million franchise tag. They have until July 12 to reach an extension with Jarrett, but there is no timeline on Jones' deal. Despite heading into his age-30 season, Jones remains one of the best and most productive wide receivers in the NFL. He has now gone over 1,400 receiving yards in each of the last five seasons and has 100-plus catches three of those years. Jones also found the end zone eight times in 2018 after disappointing with only three touchdowns in 2017. There are injury risks, but Jones should still be one of the first few wideouts off the board in fantasy drafts.

From RotoBaller

Mar 20 7:13pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones has been talking with the Falcons about a contract extension, and general manager Thomas Dimitroff said the two sides are having good conversations.

Fantasy Spin: Jones likely will receive an extension at some point this offseason and likely will become the highest paid receivers in the NFL. He should be one of the first receivers selected in fantasy drafts next season and will be a weekly starting option.

Feb 9 7:33pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones has the most career receiving yards (10,731) by age 30 in NFL history, according to ESPN.com's Field Yates.

Fantasy Spin: Yet, somehow, Jones feels a bit underrated, or least underappreciated. Over the last five years he has finished as WR2, WR7, WR6, WR2 and WR6. If you're taking him in the second round of 2019 fantasy drafts you're doing it right.

Jan 22 2:03pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones led all receivers with 24 receptions for first downs on 30 third-down targets this past season.

Fantasy Spin: Despite a slow start in the TD department (none in his first seven games) Jones also wound up leading the league in receiving yards (1,677) for the second time in the last four seasons. And even with Jones turning 30 this offseason (on Super Bowl Sunday), he remains an elite WR1 in all fantasy formats.

Jan 3 9:43pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones's contract situation isn't a concern, according to general manager Thomas Dimitroff. 'We'll take care of that business,' Dimitroff said.

Fantasy Spin: The knock on Jones has been that he doesn't catch enough touchdowns, but after piling up 113 catches for 1,677 yards and 10 games with 100-plus yards lat year, you will have a hard time finder a steadier WR1. Jones has now topped 1,400 receiving yards in five straight games.

Jan 1 1:00pm ET

Falcons' WR Julio Jones scored 28.80 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 17 win in Tampa Bay. Jones caught nine passes for 138 yards with one touchdown.
