The Indianapolis Colts claimed kicker Chase McLaughlin off waivers from the 49ers on Wednesday and waived tight end Matt Lengel in a corresponding move. The 23-year-old McLaughlin was released by the Bills during final cuts and has spent time with the Vikings, Chargers and 49ers since. In seven games with the Chargers and Niners in 2019, McLaughlin has hit 13 of 17 field goals (76.5 percent) and all 15 of his extra-point tries. With Adam Vinatieri (knee) ailing and having the worst season of his career, McLaughlin could be in line to kick for Indy to close out the season. As of now, he won't be on the streaming radar for the first week of the fantasy playoffs.

San Francisco 49ers kicker Chase McLaughlin made three field goals and four extra points in his team's 37-8 victory over the Green Bay Packers. The rookie was busy in this one, as the 49ers offense moved down the field but stalled in the red zone. That's where McLaughlin came in, nailing three field goals for the second time this year. After missing three kicks earlier in the year with the Los Angeles Chargers, he's missed only one with the 49ers in three games. McLaughlin will draw a Week 13 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens, who rank 23rd in fantasy points allowed to kickers.

San Francisco 49ers kicker Chase McLaughlin has started two straight games while starting kicker Robbie Gould (quadriceps) has been out. Gould is yet to practice this week and appears to be trending towards missing his third straight game. McLaughlin has converted for of his five field goal attempts and all four of his extra-point attempts in Gould's absence. This week, the 49ers face the Packers in a game that figures to be high-scoring. McLaughlin is worthy of starting this week, just make sure to keep an eye on Gould's status leading up to the game.

San Francisco 49ers kicker Chase McLaughlin knocked in three of four field goals and an extra point in Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks. McLaughlin was poised to play hero after crushing a 47-yard field goal to tie the game in regulation, but instantly reverted to scapegoat by badly shanking the would-be 47-yard game-winner attempt in overtime. The rookie was signed this week as a short-term replacement for Robbie Gould (quad) and is a probable cut candidate once Gould is healthy. Nothing to see here fantasy-wise.

Los Angeles Chargers kicker Chase McLaughlin missed a late field goal in the team's narrow victory over the Chicago Bears. McLaughlin did convert both of his extra-point attempts, but only converted one of his two field-goal attempts in the game. The Chargers kicker has now missed five kicks this season and is part of an offense that has struggled to score points this season. Going into Week 9, it is unknown if McLaughlin will even be the kicker for the team, with Michael Badgley nearing a return from his groin injury.

Oct 27 10:20am ET

Los Angeles Chargers kicker Chase McLaughlin shouldn't be started this week against the Chicago Bears. While the Chargers kicker has been relatively accurate this season, he has missed two field goals, although he converted all of his attempts against the Tennessee Titans last week. However, the Chargers are unlikely to be a high-scoring offense this week against the Chicago Bears, limiting his outlook. With better matchups this week, there are going to be better options for fantasy owners this week.

Los Angeles Chargers backup kicker Chase McLaughlin did about as well as could be expected on Sunday as he was able to knock through one of the two field goal tries he was given. His other attempt glanced off the left upright, skittering across the end zone. McLaughlin shouldn't be expected to have much of a future with LA, but with primary kicker Michael Badgley still considered week-to-week with a groin injury, he may have a little play. Unfortunately, LA's offense has struggled mightily as of late, so even if McLaughlin does get the job for a while, he's probably not interesting to the vast majority of the fantasy community.

Oct 11 9:20pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers kicker Chase McLaughlin is expected to draw the start once again in Week 6 as kicker Michael Badgley is doubtful due to his groin issue. McLaughlin made two of three field goals last week, and he'll probably get a shot or two again this week. Unfortunately, he's not a long-term play and hasn't shown any impressive abilities that should make fantasy owners rush to pick him up. It wouldn't be surprising if LA actually chooses to go for it instead of even attempting long field goals. McLaughlin can certainly put up some points, but with a staunch Pittsburgh defense on the other side, his chances are likely going to be limited.

Oct 7 3:00am ET

Los Angeles Chargers kicker Chase McLaughlin did pretty well in his first action with the team on Sunday. McLaughlin got off to a rough start when his first field goal attempt as a Charger was tipped at the line of scrimmage and fell well short of the uprights, but he composed himself and knocked two other field goals through without issue. He also made the only extra point try he had. McLaughlin is expected to only be around for a couple weeks while Michael Badgley, the team's expected kicker, continues to heal from his groin injury. That said, Badgley was expected back weeks ago, so McLaughlin could end up with a regular job if Badgley suffers any additional setbacks.
