The Dallas Cowboys released kicker Brett Maher and signed veteran Kai Forbath on Monday. Maher was let go after missing an NFL-leading 10 field goal attempts this season. Forbath, a former training camp participant in Dallas back in 2011, was last seen hitting a 23-yard field goal for the New England Patriots in Week 13 but was released once Nick Folk recovered from an emergency appendectomy. Forbath is worth a look if you need a kicker as Dallas should get him plenty of field goal chances.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher, already leading the league in missed field goals, missed another one in a Week 14 loss to the Chicago Bears. Maher made all three of his extra points and did make a 31 yarder at the end of the fourth quarter. The Cowboys tried out kickers last week and might do a bit more of that this coming week. Maher may not be long for the Cowboys roster.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher has a lot to prove to himself and to his team in Week 14. The Cowboys will be in Chicago to take on the Bears on a Thursday Night Football contest this week. Earlier in the week, the Cowboys tried out three kickers but ultimately decided to stick with Maher for at least one more week. While Maher has made some impressive kicks from 60+ yards out, he also leads the league in missed field goals and has cost his team precious points several times this year. The Bears don't tend to be kind to opposing kickers in fantasy, but with Maher having so much to prove, he may be worth one more start.
Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said that the team will stick with kicker Brett Maher after working out three kickers on Sunday. "Those three guys did a nice job for us, but Brett is going to be our kicker going forward," Garrett said. Maher will continue to kick for Dallas, but he'll be on a short leash after missing a league-high nine kicks so far this year. He is 19-for-28 on the year but has made all 33 of his extra points. Maher missed two field-goal tries in the Thanksgiving loss to the Bills. Needless to say, he's a fantasy kicker to avoid while he tries to snap his season-long slump.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher kicked an extra point in Week 13, but he missed both of his field goal attempts. It was a rough outing for Maher despite a decent enough matchup. In most leagues, Maher ended up with negative points. He'll look for better luck next week on Thursday Night Football against the Chicago Bears.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher was 3-for-4 in field goal attempts Sunday with a long of 46 yards. The team was kept out of the end zone, and he didn't have any extra point tries. Maher has been a low-end PK1, and he has a poor matchup against the Buffalo Bills Thursday night. This might be a spot to target a one-week play on waivers.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher is a decent but not particularly high-upside kicking option in Week 12. The Cowboys will be on the road to face the New England Patriots and could struggle to score, limiting Maher's chances. There's always the possibility that the Patriots Defense causes the Cowboys to stall on offensive drives, leading to more field goals for Maher, but that's a risky situation to bank on. Fantasy owners who have been trotting out Maher all season might as well keep him there for another week, but streamers should look elsewhere on the waiver wire.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher made all of his kicks in Week 11, making two field goals and three extra points. He wasn't needed for any long kicks this time, making a long of just 34 yards, but he still showed the consistency that makes him one of the better kickers in fantasy football.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher is a strong fantasy choice like usual in a Week 11 matchup against the Detroit Lions. Maher gets a boost in value in fantasy leagues that offer bonus points for distance, as he and the Cowboys have shown that they are not afraid to send out the kicker for attempts well over 50 yards at times. Maher is right in the middle of K1 rankings this week, coming in as the overall K6.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher kicked three extra points and made one of his two field goal attempts. He made every extra point he was asked, but missed a 57-yard field goal attempt in the first quarter. He made a 23-yarder later in the game. Maher remains one of the better and more consistent scoring kickers in fantasy leagues, and he's especially worth a look in leagues with distance bonuses for kickers.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher should be a solid kicking option again in Week 10. The Cowboys will host the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football in what should be a low-scoring game. That could lead to several field goal attempts for Maher. He's been given quite a few chances from over 50 yards out, leading to a pedestrian 13-of-18 field goal success rate, but he's been an excellent source of points in fantasy leagues that offer bonuses for kicking distance.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher did a lot of work on Monday Night Football in Week 9. He made all four of his extra points and three of his four field goals, including a long of 52 yards. Maher is one of the better kicking options in fantasy football and should have another solid week next week against the Minnesota Vikings.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher is a solid kicking option for Week 9 fantasy lineups. Maher has shown tons of leg strength this season and is an even better option in leagues with distance bonuses on field goals. The Cowboys shouldn't have much issue moving the ball against the New York Giants Defense, so Maher could have a busy Monday night. Coming out of the bye week, Maher is likely available on many waiver wires. Go get him if you've been having kicking issues.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher had a big game in a Week 7 win. He knocked through all four of his extra points and made his three field goal attempts too. He knocked through a 63-yard boot and has proven to be one of the more consistent kicking options while also having a big enough leg to make the long kicks. He's one of the better fantasy options at an unpredictable position.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher will look for another solid performance in Week 7 at home against the Philadelphia Eagles. Maher made a 62-yard field goal last week along with two other field goals and an extra point. He hasn't been quite as consistent as you want from a fantasy kicker (7-of-11) but his ability to make long kicks somewhat makes up for it. Fire him up as a set-and-forget kicker every time the Cowboys are home in Jerry World.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher made three field goals and an extra point in a Week 6 loss to the New York Jets. Maher made field goals from 50, 62, and 32 yards out, but missed a 40-yard kick. Players in long field goal bonus leagues were likely thrilled with Maher's performance in this one. He'll continue to be one of the stronger fantasy kickers going forward.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher will look to bounce back from a tough Week 5 performance in Week 6 against the New York Jets. Maher made just one of his three field goal tries in Week 5, missing from 54 and 33 yards out. The Dallas offense should have no problem moving the ball in Week 6, so Maher should get several more chances to connect on his kicks this time around.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher missed two field goal attempts in a Week 5 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Maher made all three of his extra points and one field goal, but missed field goal tries from 54 and 33 yards. It was an uncharacteristically inaccurate day for Maher, who has otherwise been one of the more solid kickers in the league. He'll try to get right in an easy matchup against the New York Jets in Week 6.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher could be a strong choice as a fantasy kicker in Week 5. Although Maher has been effective when called upon this season, it hasn't translated into a ton of success in fantasy lineups. The Cowboys host the Green Bay Packers this week though, and in what should be a close game, Maher could be called upon more than he has been in previous weeks. Kicker is always a dart throw in fantasy, but Maher looks like as good a dart to hit the bulls-eye as any this time.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher kicked a field goal and an extra point in Week 4. The Cowboys offense struggled to move the ball on Sunday Night Football, but Maher still did everything that was asked of him. His field goal came from 28 yards out. It's been a somewhat disappointing fantasy season for Maher so far, although he's been very solid on the field. He should still be one of the more solid and consistent kickers going forward.
