The Detroit Lions placed wide receiver Marvin Jones (ankle) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday after he suffered his injury in the Week 14 loss to the Vikings on the final drive. Head coach Matt Patricia said he's unsure if Jones will need surgery. The 29-year-old had 62 catches this year for 779 yards and nine touchdowns. Fantasy owners unfortunately will not have Jones' services as they attempt to win a fantasy championship in the next couple of weeks. Kenny Golladay, Danny Amendola and Chris Lacy should operate in three-wide sets the rest of the way. Amendola will become a little more attractive in deep PPR leagues, but his upside remains limited with third-stringer David Blough at quarterback.

Dec 10 4:23pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list with an ankle injury on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Fantasy Spin: The hits just keep coming for Detroit, which figures to lean on Kenny Golladay even more the rest of the way. Danny Amendola should also see more targets as well.

From TheHuddle

Dec 9 1:00pm ET

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones caught just three of seven targets for 38 scoreless yards in a loss to the Vikings Sunday. Jones hasn't had more than 46 yards in four straight games now and has been reliant on nine touchdowns this season to find fantasy production. Rookie QB David Blough starting for Detroit hasn't helped matters for Jones but a matchup with the Buccaneers in Week 15 should keep Jones in fantasy lineups as a WR3.

From RotoBaller

Dec 8 6:33pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones posted three grabs for 38 yards on seven targets in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Spin: Jones has posted 46 or fewer yards in four straight outings, and he should be treated as more of a WR5 in standard play with some low-end WR4 or flex value in PPR leagues heading into Week 15 against the Buccaneers.

From TheHuddle

Dec 6 3:50pm ET

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones shouldn't have a hard time against a leaky Minnesota Vikings secondary in Week 14, but uncertainty remains with rookie quarterback David Blough starting for the Lions. Jones has hauled in 17 receptions for 206 yards and three touchdowns over the last four weeks, proving to be at least somewhat quarterback-proof. Fantasy owners need more assurance than that heading into the first week of the fantasy playoffs though. Jones did absolutely torch the Vikings in Week 7, going off for 93 yards and four touchdowns, but that was with Matthew Stafford (back) throwing the passes. Jones will slot in as a boom-or-bust WR3 in Week 14.

From RotoBaller

Nov 29 3:10am ET

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones hauled in 3-of-6 targets for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Lions Week 13 loss to the Chicago Bears. Jones has proven to be quarterback-proof this season. The veteran wide receiver hasn't skipped a beat since Matthew Stafford (back) went down, even with third-string rookie quarterback David Blough starting. The Lions have a tough task ahead of them in Week 14 with the Minnesota Vikings on deck. Jones will slot in as a mid-range WR3 for that matchup.

From RotoBaller

Nov 28 4:33pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones caught three passes for 40 yards and one touchdown against the Chicago Bears in Week 13. He was targeted six times during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Jones has posted four touchdowns in the last five games and has been targeted five or more times in 11 straight games. He will be facing a solid Minnesota Vikings defense next week but could still be at least a flex option.

From TheHuddle

Nov 27 11:30pm ET

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones has been backup quarterback Jeff Driskel's favorite target since he was thrown into the fire in Week 10, but the veteran wide receiver will have a new signal-caller in Week 13 with Driskel (hamstring) unable to start. Jones had been on a solid run lately, but with a tough Chicago Bears Defense coming to town and a third-string quarterback under center, the good times look like they're about to come to an abrupt end. Fantasy owners can slot Jones in as a boom-or-bust WR3 for this matchup.

From RotoBaller

Nov 24 9:23pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones caught five of his team-high 11 targets for 46 yards in a 19-16 loss to the Washington Redskins in Week 12.

Fantasy Spin: All members of the Detroit passing attack continue to be limited by the absence of Matthew Stafford, but Jones does appear to be a favorite target of Jeff Driskel. He could be a low-ceiling flex option moving forward.

From TheHuddle

Nov 24 6:40pm ET

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones was certainly a favorite target of quarterback Jeff Driskel in the team's Week 12 loss to the Redskins. Unfortunately, he and Driskel struggled to connect on a number of their attempts. Jones earned a team-high 11 targets in the game, while no other Lion had more than four. Jones finished the game with five catches for 46 yards. Driskel threw three interceptions in the game and struggled overall. Still, it's always encouraging to see a receiver earn double-digit targets. Jones and the Lions will look to get back on track against the Bears on Thanksgiving.

From RotoBaller

Nov 21 8:40pm ET

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones has been on a tear since Week 7. The veteran wideout has accumulated 361 yards and seven scores over the last five games and will look to stay hot against the Washington Redskins on in Week 12. Jones has not been affected by the loss of starting quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) and has actually proven to be very efficient with backup Jeff Driskel under center. As is the case every week, Jones could very well take a backseat to Kenny Golladay in this one, but it is obviously extremely hard to bench Jones at the moment due to his recent success. Fantasy owners can slot Jones in as a high-end WR3 for this matchup.

From RotoBaller

Nov 17 10:30pm ET

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones had a big day in the Lions Week 11 loss to the Cowboys, catching 4-of-5 targets for 43 yards and two scores on the day. Jones proved to be a useful fantasy piece even with backup quarterback Jeff Driskel under center for the second consecutive week. The Lions did get their running game going somewhat in this matchup, and Jones did see the same amount of targets as Danny Amendola and Kenny Golladay, so this likely won't keep up. The chemistry between Jones and Driskel is apparent though. Jones will slot in as a WR3 in Week 12 when the Lions travel to Washington to take on the Redskins.

From RotoBaller

Nov 17 9:43pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones caught four of his five targets for 43 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-27 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12.

Fantasy Spin: Jones has run hot and cold all year, but he is up to eight touchdowns and is on pace for 1,000 yards. He is a high-upside WR3 candidate.

From TheHuddle

Nov 14 11:00am ET

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones did not seem to be affected much in Week 10 without his starting quarterback. The veteran wide receiver actually looked to have very good chemistry at times with backup quarterback Jeff Driskel. Jones has a tougher task on hand in Week 11 with the Dallas Cowboys coming to town, but he could prove to be a useful PPR option in this matchup if Driskel decides to lean on him. The Lions backfield is in shambles, making it likely that they focus on the passing game even with a backup under center. Jones will slot in as a WR3 in this one.

From RotoBaller

Nov 10 6:13pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones finished with five grabs for 77 yards on six targets in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Spin: Jones has four or more grabs in each of the past four outings, and seven of his nine games this season. He has been a friend to fantasy owners in PPR leagues, serving as a decent WR4 option with lesser appeal in standard play. The Lions host the Cowboys in Week 11.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 5:50pm ET

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones was able to haul in five catches for 77 yards against the Bears in Week 10. The Lions were forced to start backup quarterback Jeff Driskel, but that didn't prove to be a problem as he showed surprising chemistry with Jones at various points throughout the game. Jones wasn't able to find the endzone in this one, but he has been on an absolute tear since Kerryon Johnson (knee) was placed on IR and is currently on pace for a 1000-yard season. Jones' value shouldn't take a massive hit if Driskel is forced to start in Week 11 against the Cowboys. The veteran wide receiver will slot in as a WR3 for that matchup if that turns out to be the case.

From RotoBaller

Nov 7 2:10am ET

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones will look to keep taking advantage of the Lions recent shift to more of an aerial approach in a matchup against the Chicago Bears in Week 10. The Bears have allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers this season, so this game definitely won't be a walk in the park for Jones. He is looking at a very solid floor though with more targets than usual expected to come his way. Jones will slot in as a mid-range WR3 in this matchup.

From RotoBaller

Nov 3 9:23pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones caught eight of his 10 targets for 126 yards and a touchdown in a 31-24 loss to the Oakland Raiders in Week 9.

Fantasy Spin: Jones has been an all-or-nothing fantasy option most of the year, making him a high-risk, high-reward WR3 for fantasy owners.

From TheHuddle

Nov 3 9:20pm ET

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones rebounded very nicely in Week 9 after a disappointing Week 8 performance. The veteran wide receiver caught 8-of-10 targets for 126 yards and one touchdown on a day where he was seemingly able to do whatever he wanted. Jones will have his weeks where he is the 1B to Kenny Golladay's 1A, but fantasy owners should be well aware by now that there will be a handful of dud weeks sprinkled in between. The Lions have totally shifted their focus to the passing game though, and with no reason to believe that will come to an end, Jones will slot in as a solid WR3 in next week's matchup against the Bears.

From RotoBaller

Oct 31 1:10am ET

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones fell back to earth in Week 8 after posting a 10-catch, four-touchdown performance against the Vikings in Week 7. Jones caught the ball four times for a measly 22 yards against the Giants last week, with his five targets sitting just below his season average. Jones will have his weeks, but consistency is too much to ask for with Golladay hanging around. Jones faces a horrendous Raiders secondary in Week 9 who have given up the third-most 40-plus yard passing plays in the league this season, so he may be able to do some damage in this one in what should be another high scoring affair for the Lions. Jones will slot in as a high-end WR3 this week.
