Player Notes
Nov 16 3:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints wide receivers Ted Ginn and Tre'Quan Smith will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 11. Ginn is coming off a catch-less game and hasn't gone over 50 receiving yards since Week 1. Meanwhile, Smith missed five games with an injury and has yet to eclipse 50 receiving yards in three games played. Both will get a good matchup against the Bucs, who allow 48.04 fantasy points to opposing wideouts, the most in the NFL. Still, Smith and Ginn are firmly behind Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara and Jared Cook in the pecking order, so expectations must be lowered. Both are risky flex plays in Week 11.

Nov 10 10:50pm ET

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith made his return to the field in Week 10 after missing five games with an ankle injury. Smith received two targets and caught one of them for 13 yards. It's been an injury-riddled campaign for Smith so far, with the highlight of his season being a touchdown catch back in Week 1. His low target volume makes him hard to trust moving forward. Perhaps he can do some damage next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' league-worst pass defense.

Nov 9 12:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith will face a struggling Atlanta Falcons Defense in Week 10. The 23-year-old was a popular sleeper pick ahead of this year, but ankle and knee injuries have cost him five games this year. The bye week came at the right time for Smith, who is healthy going into a matchup with the Falcons' 23rd-ranked pass defense. In three games, Smith has caught all five targets for 75 yards and a touchdown. He comes with risk, as he's at the bottom of the pecking order in his offense. However, the Saints will very likely need to pass to win this one-that could mean more opportunities than normal for Smith. He's a risky flex option this week.

Nov 8 4:03pm ET

New Orleans Saints CB Patrick Robinson (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons. OT Terron Armstead (illness) was added to the injury report Friday, Nov. 8, while TE Josh Hill (calf) was limited; both players have been cleared to play. TE Jared Cook (ankle), WR Tre'Quan Smith (ankle), QB Drew Brees (thumb) and RB Alvin Kamara (knee, ankle) fully participated in practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

New Orleans Saints CB Patrick Robinson (hamstring) and TE Josh Hill (calf) were limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 7. TE Jared Cook (ankle), WR Tre'Quan Smith (ankle), QB Drew Brees (thumb) and RB Alvin Kamara (knee, ankle) practiced in full.

New Orleans Saints TE Josh Hill (calf) and CB Patrick Robinson (hamstring) were limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 6. WR Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) fully participated in practice.

From TheHuddle

Nov 6 4:00pm ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (ankle), tight end Jared Cook (ankle) and wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) all returned to practice on Wednesday coming out of the team's bye week. It looks like all three should be able to return in Week 10, which is bad news for the Falcons. If active, Kamara is a must-start in all fantasy formats, even if backup Latavius Murray spells him more than usual. Cook hasn't lived up to expectations in 2019 with the Saints (15-168-2) in six games, but he'll be a decent TE2 streamer with six teams on bye and Evan Engram (foot) likely to miss multiple weeks. Smith has been out since Sept. 15 and has five catches for 75 yards and a touchdown as the team's No. 3 wideout. He's hard to get behind as a flex option, even in deeper leagues. Getting all these weapons back will benefit quarterback Drew Brees in an exploitable matchup.

The New Orleans Saints have declared OG Nick Easton, RB Alvin Kamara, CB Patrick Robinson, WR Tre'Quan Smith, DE Carl Granderson, OT Ethan Greenidge and TE Jared Cook inactive for Week 8.

New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) and CB Patrick Robinson (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 25, and have been ruled out for Week 8. S JT Gray (ankle) was limited during practice and is listed as questionable. CB Eli Apple (knee) and DE Trey Hendrickson (neck) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.

Oct 25 5:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Jared Cook (ankle) and wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) missed practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 8 against the Cardinals. Cook is missing his second straight game, while Smith hasn't suited up since Sept. 15. With Cook out, Josh Hill will be the team's top pass-catching tight end. He'd be more attractive as a TE2 streamer if quarterback Drew Brees (thumb) made his return in Week 8 against a team that is the worst at defending the tight end position. Ted Ginn, the team's No. 2 wideout behind Michael Thomas, is only flex-worthy if Brees is back under center.

Oct 24 5:53pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (ankle), DB JT Gray (ankle) and CB Patrick Robinson (hamstring) didn't participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 24. CB Eli Apple (knee) and DE Trey Hendrickson (neck) were full participants.

From TheHuddle

Oct 24 5:40pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Jared Cook (ankle) and wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) missed practice for the second straight day on Thursday. Neither player looks particularly close to playing in Week 8 against the Cardinals, so you shouldn't plan on having either of them in your lineups. Cook caught touchdowns in his last two games but sat out in Week 7. Josh Hill will continue to be the top pass-catching tight end if Cook misses another game, but he's a desperation TE2 for fantasy. Quarterback Drew Brees (thumb) could return this weekend, but Michael Thomas is still the only trustworthy fantasy receiver for New Orleans. Ted Ginn would be a boom-or-bust WR4/flex if Brees is back. Smith just hasn't been able to stay on the field this year.

Oct 23 7:13pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (ankle), S JT Gray (ankle) and CB Patrick Robinson (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 23. CB Eli Apple (knee) was limited during practice, while DE Trey Hendrickson (neck) fully participated in practice.

From TheHuddle

Oct 23 6:00pm ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (ankle), tight end Jared Cook (ankle) and wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) all missed practice on Wednesday. All three players sat out in Week 7 against the Bears and are off to a bad start this week. The Saints have a bye in Week 9, so they could decide to rest the trio again this weekend. If that's the case, Latavius Murray would be on the RB1/2 borderline for a second straight start in a great matchup against the Cardinals. Josh Hill is the next man up if Cook misses another game, but he doesn't have much fantasy appeal as long as Teddy Bridgewater is at quarterback. Michael Thomas is the only fantasy-relevant receiver in New Orleans until Drew Brees (thumb) makes his return.

From RotoBaller

Oct 20 3:13pm ET

The New Orleans Saints have declared RB Alvin Kamara, QB Drew Brees, CB Ken Crawley, WR Tre'Quan Smith, DE Trey Hendrickson, OT Ethan Greenidge and TE Jared Cook inactive for Week 7.

Oct 18 6:13pm ET

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (thumb) and WR Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 18, and have been ruled out for Week 7. DE Trey Hendrickson (neck) was limited during practice but has been ruled out.

From TheHuddle

Oct 18 4:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (ankle), tight end Jared Cook (ankle) and wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) have all been ruled out for Week 7 against the Bears. Make sure to remove Kamara and Cook from your lineups now. With Kamara sidelined, backup Latavius Murray will be the backfield workhorse and will have RB2 value, albeit in a tough matchup on the road against Chicago. Josh Hill should see starting tight end duties, but he can be avoided in fantasy. No. 1 wideout Michael Thomas should be targeted heavily, but Chicago's superior defense will game plan to slow him down. The Bears Defense, already a weekly top play, just got more attractive in fantasy. Even with Smith out, fantasy owners shouldn't be banking on Ted Ginn.

From RotoBaller

Oct 17 6:13pm ET

From TheHuddle

Oct 16 6:23pm ET

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (thumb) and WR Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16. DE Trey Hendrickson (neck) was limited during practice.

From TheHuddle

Oct 16 6:00pm ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (ankle, knee), tight end Jared Cook (ankle) and wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) all missed practice on Wednesday. Kamara could miss practice all week with a mild high ankle sprain, but he's still hoping to play in Week 7 against the Bears. In a tough matchup on potentially limited snaps, Kamara is shaping up as a bust if he plays. If he is inactive, backup Latavius Murray would have immediate RB2 upside. Cook has caught touchdowns the last two weeks and is trending up as a TE1/2 if he can return to practice this week. Smith missed last week and is not a fantasy option as long as Teddy Bridgewater remains under center.
