2024 RTSports Outlook

Lawrence took big steps forward in year two under new head coach Doug Pederson. He was seventh overall in fantasy quarterback scoring. He topped 4,000-passing yards and scored 30 total touchdowns. His accuracy also improved from 59.6 percent his rookie season to 66.3 percent. Lawrence had 10 of 17 games with 20-plus fantasy points. He is emerging as an elite NFL quarterback. And his numbers could get even better in an offense that adds Calvin Ridley to the mix at receiver. Lawrence is a very smart quarterback with a plus arm. He isn't a running quarterback but moves around the pocket well and can make plays on the run. He is accurate, especially on shorter throws, and showing improved accuracy on the deep ball. Lawrence will force throws at times, but did much better in that area last year.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Lawrence is a fantasy quarterback on the rise and could be a top-five fantasy quarterback this season. He is trending the right way in an emerging offense. Feel confident taking him as your No. 1 quarterback after the elite guys are off the board. He can throw for around 4,000 yard with 35-plus touchdowns and 300-rushing yards.

Former Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs center Mitch Morse is signing a two-year $10.5 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo. The deal includes $7 million guaranteed. The 2022 Pro Bowl selection was released by the Bills last week after five seasons with the organization. He has 126 starts on his resume and will presumably take the job of Luke Fortner in 2024. Given Trevor Lawrence's long list of bumps and bruises during the 2023 season, the Jaguars are committed to upgrading his protection with this signing and the restructured contract of All-Pro guard Brandon Scherff.

The Jacksonville Jaguars agreed to terms with guard Ezra Cleveland on a three-year, $28.5 million deal with $14.5 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 25-year-old was traded from the Minnesota Vikings to Jacksonville in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He played in nine games (five starts) at left guard for the Jaguars in 2023. Protecting franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence is a key priority for the organization this offseason, so they worked to make sure Cleveland did not reach the open market.

Feb 24 1:40pm ET

The Jacksonville Jaguars finished last season next to last in yards before contact per rush (0.94), which is no wonder they also finished 30th in yards per attempt (3.6), 31st in rushing EPA and 30th in rushing success rate. The Athletic's Jim Ayello writes that their ground game must improve if quarterback Trevor Lawrence and company hope to get back into the AFC title hunt in 2024. It will start with upgrades on the interior offensive line this offseason. Luke Fortner showed he isn't the answer at center. The Jaguars don't appear to have a starting left guard under contract, and right guard Brandon Scherff may be cut for salary cap relief. It all means that the Jaguars are going to need to serious look for upgrades on their offensive line in free agency and the draft.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is eligible for a contract extension this offseason after playing out the first three years of his deal, and general manager Trent Baalke said there's "no doubt" about the former first overall pick's long-term relationship with the organization. Lawrence is coming off an up-and-down season in 2023 that was marred by several injuries. He's eligible to have his fifth-year option picked up, which would be worth a projected $21.978 million. The Jaguars may not necessarily give Lawrence a long-term contract extension this offseason, but it's likely coming and will almost certainly be record-breaking. In 2023, Lawrence completed 65.6% of his passes for 4,016 yards, 21 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while losing seven fumbles. He was also sacked 35 times, 12th-most in the league. With better health in 2024, Lawrence could be primed for a bounce-back campaign.

Jan 25 12:20pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke said the team will have a "heart to heart" discussion with quarterback Trevor Lawrence this offseason about whether a long-term contract extension happens now or in 2025. The Jaguars will almost certainly pick up Lawrence's fifth-year option at some point this offseason. The former first overall pick out of Clemson led the Jags to a playoff appearance in just his second season and the team was off to a fast start in 2023 before crumbling down the stretch. The 24-year-old dealt with several injuries that most likely hurt his production, but he's now thrown for 11,770 yards, 58 touchdowns and 39 interceptions in his first three seasons. Lawrence will be a midrange QB1 for fantasy managers heading into the 2024 season, and an extension is likely a matter of when, not if, for Lawrence and the Jaguars.

Jan 7 6:30pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder, finger) threw for 280 yards, two touchdowns, and two picks off 29-for-43 passing in Sunday's loss to the Titans. He added three carries for 10 yards. This wasn't Lawrence's worst showing of his career. However, it wasn't good enough to get the Jaguars into the postseason. The signal-caller has battled various injuries throughout the year, so it's possible they were the cause of some of his mishaps. At any rate, Lawrence took a significant step back this season. He threw four fewer touchdowns than he did a season ago and also nearly doubled his number of picks. The former Clemson Tiger has some work to do, especially since his days as a starting quarterback could be coming to an end if he doesn't get his act together next season.

Jan 7 12:00pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder, finger) is officially active for the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Lawrence was held out of the Week 17 win over the Carolina Panthers but is returning to play this weekend in a must-win game. The 24-year-old will be playing through an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder and will almost certainly not be 100 percent, so he'll be extra risky in DFS and in season-long leagues for anyone still playing for a championship. The good news is Lawrence isn't at risk of reinjuring his right shoulder on Sunday, so if the Jaguars win the AFC South with a victory, he should be all systems go next weekend for the wild-card round of the postseason. Lawrence won't be getting receiver Christian Kirk (groin) back from Injured Reserve.

Jan 6 7:10pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder, finger) is officially listed as questionable for the Week 18 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. It looks like the star quarterback will be a game-time decision, but is pushing to play. This is a must-win game for the Jags and it doesn't sound like Lawrence is at risk of reinjuring himself. This will likely come down to how Lawrence feels closer to kickoff. His absence would mean that C.J. Beathard would be under center once again. If Beathard starts then the entire Jags offense will take a hit in value. Fantasy managers will have to check back for official word closer to game time.

From RotoBaller

Jan 5 12:10pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder, finger) will be questionable to play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, and a decision on whether he plays could go up to game time. "If he's good to go, he's good to go. If he's out there, he's rolling," head coach Doug Pederson said. Lawrence sprained his right shoulder in Week 16 and didn't play in last week's win over the Carolina Panthers as a result. The 24-year-old did a little bit of throwing on Wednesday and Thursday. If we had to guess, Lawrence will be active this weekend in a must-win game for Jacksonville, and he could be getting receiver Christian Kirk (groin) back as well. With several big-name QBs being rested in the regular season finale, Lawrence will have low-end QB1 appeal for fantasy managers still playing for a championship if he's active on Sunday morning.

Jan 4 1:50pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) did some throwing on Thursday at the portion of practice open to the media, which is a positive sign as he attempts to play in a must-win Week 18 contest against the Tennessee Titans this Sunday. Lawrence put in a limited practice on Wednesday after missing the Week 17 win over the Carolina Panthers due to a right-shoulder injury he suffered in Week 16. All signs are pointing toward the 24-year-old returning this weekend to try and lead the team to a win and the AFC South title. Lawrence could be getting receiver Christian Kirk (core) back as well, which would only boost his fantasy value in Week 18 with many other high-end QBs being rested ahead of the playoffs next week.

Jan 3 12:10pm ET

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) will practice on a limited basis on Wednesday. It's a step toward playing in the must-win Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Lawrence injured his shoulder in Week 16 and was held out of the Week 17 victory over the Carolina Panthers. The 24-year-old is considered day-to-day for now, but it appears both he and receiver Christian Kirk (core) could be active this weekend in game the Jaguars need to win to secure the AFC South division. Since Week 13, Lawrence has dealt with a sprained ankle, a concussion and now a shoulder injury. He's thrown for 990 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions in his last four games played and will be a low-end QB1 for fantasy managers if he's able to play on Sunday against Tennessee.

From RotoBaller

Jan 3 10:50am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) could be a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Doug Pederson. Lawrence missed the first game of his NFL career last week, but the Jags defeated the Carolina Panthers with C.J. Beathard. In Week 18, Jacksonville can clinch the AFC South and a home playoff game in the Wild Card Round with a win over the Tennessee Titans. Needless to say, it's an important contest, and Lawrence will likely play if he's anywhere close to healthy. Fantasy managers or DFS gamers who are still competing in Week 18 should check back for the team's official injury report later in the day.

From RotoBaller

Jan 1 2:10pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) is "progressing" and "we'll see" what his limitations are at practice on Wednesday. Lawrence has been beat up in recent weeks and missed the first game of his career in the Week 17 win over the Carolina Panthers. The 24-year-old will attempt to practice this week and play in a must-win Week 18 contest against the Tennessee Titans. C.J. Beathard took over the offense on Sunday and went 17-for-24 for 178 yards, no touchdowns or interceptions in the 26-0 win. In the Week 11 win over the Titans, Lawrence threw for 262 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. We'll know more on whether he'll play in Week 18 after the Jaguars hold a few practices. If Lawrence is active, he'll be a low-end QB1 option in fantasy.

Dec 31 11:10am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) will not play in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers but he could return for the regular season finale in Week 18 against the Tennessee Titans if the team has yet to clinch a playoff spot. Lawrence suffered a right-shoulder injury in last week's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and didn't practice all week, leading backup C.J. Beathard to make his first start of the year for the Jaguars. It's been a rough couple of weeks for Lawrence, who initially sprained his ankle in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals and then suffered a concussion in Week 15 against the Baltimore Ravens. The Jags are hoping his right shoulder is healed enough to play in Week 18 and into the playoffs. Beathard will be a low-end QB2 for desperate fantasy managers, even in a matchup against Carolina.

From RotoBaller

Dec 29 4:30pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (right shoulder) did not practice this week and has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. The 24-year-old has completed 65.5 percent of his passes for 3,736 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 14 touchdowns. He has also added 329 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Lawrence hadn't previously missed a game in his three-year career, but that streak will end this week. In his absence, C.J. Beathard is expected to draw the start. The veteran should be avoided in most fantasy leagues this week.

From RotoBaller

Dec 28 4:40pm ET

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) was listed as a non-participant on Thursday for the second straight day. A previous report suggested that he put in a limited practice session. The 24-year-old signal-caller is dealing with a sprained AC joint in his right throwing shoulder and is up in the air to suit up in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers. Lawrence said earlier this week he was feeling better, but he's not going to throw much this week, regardless of whether he ends up playing. The young QB hasn't been the same the last several weeks while playing through an ankle sprain and also dealing with a concussion, and now he's got a shoulder injury to worry about. If he gets the green light, fantasy managers should consider him more of a low-end QB2 against a Carolina defense that hasn't been very friendly to opposing QBs in 2023.

Dec 28 12:20pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who suffered a sprained AC joint in his right throwing shoulder in the Week 16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, returned to a limited practice on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday, according to head coach Doug Pederson. "If Trevor plays, we're all-in on that. If C.J. Beathard plays, we're all in on that it's a tough decision," Pederson said. Lawrence said he's feeling better but isn't going to do a lot of throwing in the lead-up to Week 17's game against the Carolina Panthers. The 24-year-old signal-caller has yet to miss a game since being drafted in 2021 and will give it his best shot to be active this Sunday. In the last four weeks, Lawrence has battled through an ankle sprain, a concussion and now a sprained shoulder, making him harder to trust in fantasy as a QB1.

From RotoBaller

Dec 27 6:10pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) said his right shoulder is feeling better but he's not going to do much throwing this week as he tries to play in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Lawrence was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice. He suffered a sprained AC joint in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If Lawrence doesn't get cleared to play this weekend, C.J. Beathard would make his first start since the 2020 regular season finale with the San Francisco 49ers. Lawrence has yet to miss a game in his career, though, starting 49 consecutive games in the regular season and two in the playoffs since being drafted first overall in 2021. The 24-year-old can't seem to stay healthy in the second half of this year, as he's also dealt with ankle and concussion issues in recent weeks.

Dynasty | Trevor Lawrence sprained his AC joint during the team's week 16 loss to the Buccaneers. Dynasty Analysis: It's been a dubious season for Lawrence who was expected to have a breakout campaign in 2023. Instead, inconsistency and multiple injuries have replaced the high expectations, pushing them into 2024, what will be his fourth season with the team since being drafted first-overall in 2021. Listed as DLF's QB8, Trevor Lawrence could slip modestly in the rankings with high profile quarterbacks entering the league during the 2024 NFL Draft.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Dec 26 9:50pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) suffered an AC joint sprain in his team's Week 16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to head coach Doug Pederson, Lawrence is making progress but his shoulder is still feeling sore two days after the game. Pederson was noncommital as to whether Lawrence would be able to practice on Wednesday as the Jags begin preparing to take on the Carolina Panthers in Week 17. With Lawrence's Week 17 status still in question, it could be backup C.J. Beathard under center against Carolina on Sunday. Fantasy gamers interested in starting Lawrence in the fantasy championship round will want to stay tuned to Jacksonville's practice reports and final injury report this week.
