Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton started off the season by posting some dubs, but has turned it around lately. Over the last four games, Otton has hauled in four receptions or more in every game. The 26-year-old has also finished with 40 receiving yards or more in all of those contests. The Bucs are extremely shorthanded with multiple playmakers out for the foreseeable future. That being said, Otton figures to continue seeing the ball coming his way during the second half of the season. The Bucs head into a bye in Week 9, but Otton should be a viable TE2 in the second half.

Oct 24 4:50pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton has stepped up for this offense over the last few weeks. The Bucs are down multiple offensive players and Otton has been able to make a difference on offense. Last week, Otton hauled in seven of his nine targets for 65 yards in the loss to the Detroit Lions. The 26-year-old has finished with 50 receiving yards or more in each of the last three games. This offense is without Mike Evans (collarbone), Chris Godwin (leg), and Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) for the Week 8 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Given the Bucs' injuries and the amount of teams on a bye this weekend. Otton should be treated as a TE1 for this favorable matchup against the Saints defense.

Oct 24 9:40am CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton has emerged as a more consistent feature in his team's offense in recent weeks. Over his last three games, Otton has recorded 16 catches for 197 yards on 20 targets. Given that Tampa Bay will be without wide receivers Mike Evans (collarbone) and Chris Godwin (leg) for its Week 8 matchup against the New Orleans Saints and possibly longer, Otton could have an extended runway as one of the lead target-earners for the Buccaneers. In the three games that both Evans and Godwin missed in 2024, Otton recorded 22 catches for 193 yards and three touchdowns on 29 targets. He profiles as a low-end starting tight end option for fantasy managers in Week 8.

Oct 21 10:40am CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton set season-highs in both targets and catches in Week 7, hauling in seven catches for 65 yards on nine targets in his team's 24-9 loss to the Detroit Lions. The 26-year-old has now hauled in 16 receptions for 197 yards on 20 targets over the last three weeks. With star Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (collarbone) now set to miss significant time after breaking his clavicle in Week 7, Otton could continue to see consistent usage in his team's passing game. Tampa Bay could be without wide receiver Chris Godwin (leg) in Week 8 as well, which would likely leave either Otton or veteran wideout Sterling Shepard as the number two target behind wide receiver Emeka Egbuka for Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield. Otton should be rostered in all fantasy leagues with 14 or more teams heading into a Week 8 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

Oct 21 12:10am CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton caught seven of nine targets for 65 yards in Monday night's 24-9 loss to the Lions. Otton led the team in receptions and yard on Monday night with a banged up receiver room and Mike Evans (collarbone) leaving with a significant injury. Quarterback Baker Mayfield leaned on Otton as his primary short-yardage target, with Otton frequently finding space open downfield. The 26-year-old has a chance to establish himself as a reliable tight end option in the coming weeks, as the Bucs continue to deal with significant injuries on offense.

Oct 18 8:20pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton has picked up the slack over the last few weeks. Otton was awful to start the season, but finished with 81 receiving yards in Week 5 and hauled in five receptions for 51 yards last week. The Bucs are starting to believe in Otton and he's beginning to earn a larger role. It's also worth noting that the Bucs are extremely banged up right now. They're already without two starting wideouts, but Mike Evans (hamstring) and Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) might sit in Week 7 as well. If that happens, Otton could see an expanded role on Monday night. At worst, Otton should be a solid TE2 given his recent success.

With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers facing a rash of injuries at wide receiver, one of the team's answers could be tight end Cade Otton, who is playing an impressive number of snaps and coming off a season high in targets. Otton has played more than 90% of Tampa's snaps for five weeks in a row and has continued to see more work in the passing game. The fourth-year tight end caught nine of 11 targets for 132 yards during the past two games, and although he's looking for his first touchdown of the season, he figures to be a high-quality fantasy TE2 or bye week fill-in against Detroit in Week 7. The Bucs' first injury report of the week will be worth watching, however, as receivers Mike Evans (hamstring), Emeka Egbuka (hamstring), and Chris Godwin (leg) are all dealing with injuries.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton has seen more involvement in the offense over the last two weeks, with the team's receiving corps extremely banged up. Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (leg) were unavailable in Sunday's win over the San Francisco 49ers, and rookie first-rounder Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) also suffered an injury that is expected to cost him time. Otton caught five of a season-high six targets for 51 yards in Week 6 and now has nine grabs on 11 targets for 132 yards in the last two games. The 26-year-old's five catches led the team against San Fran. Even if Evans can make it back for the Monday night game in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions, Otton should be in line for an elevated role once again with both Egbuka and Godwin sidelined. He deserves attention on the waiver wire this week and is rostered in only 12% of Yahoo leagues. Otton will be a TE2 streamer in Week 7.

Oct 10 7:30pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton finally was able to do some damage on the field last week. Otton hauled in four of his five targets for 81 yards during last week's win over the Seattle Seahawks. Before that, Otton was held to six receptions for 34 yards during the first four games. Recently, Bucs offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard said the team wants to get Otton more involved. The Bucs are going to be without wide receivers Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (leg) for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. That should mean that Otton sees more targets coming his way. All things are pointing to Otton getting more chances, so he should offer TE2 value in Week 6.

From RotoBaller

Oct 9 12:10pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard said that the team has been trying to get tight end Cade Otton the ball in recent weeks, according to Pewter Report. Otton has come through with some explosive plays recently, with Grizzard saying he is "typical Cade." The 26-year-old was blanked in two of the first three games of the year before catching seven of his nine targets for 90 yards in the last two weeks combined, which coincided with receiver Mike Evans being out with a strained hamstring. Otton has yet to find the end zone in five games in 2025, but he should once again have an elevated role in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers with Evans likely to miss a third straight game. Wideout Chris Godwin (leg) might also be trending toward sitting out, which would mean even more looks for Otton. Don't ignore him when searching for a TE2 streamer this weekend.

Oct 3 4:30pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton was able to make a small impact during last week's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Otton hauled in three of his four targets for nine yards. Through four games, Otton has been held to six receptions for 34 yards and no touchdowns. He has played above 90 percent of the offensive snaps each of the last three games. Despite that, Otton doesn't appear to be a viable option in the receiving game right now. Both Emeka Egbuka and Chris Godwin figure to continue seeing a high volume of targets. Otton can continue to ride the bench until he starts making a consistent impact.

From RotoBaller

Sep 26 2:20pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton was held without a catch for the second time this season during last week's win over the New York Jets. In fact, Otton wasn't even targeted despite being on the field for 92 percent of the offensive snaps. It's worth noting that the Bucs will be without wide receiver Mike Evans (hamstring) during this game. Despite that, Otton hasn't done enough on the field to warrant starting in fantasy formats. The hope is that the 26-year-old will get more involved, but the fourth-year tight end belongs on the bench in Week 4.

Sep 19 9:30pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton hasn't put together an ideal start to the season. Luckily, last week Otton was at least able to contribute after a dud in the season opener. Otton hauled in three of his four targets for 25 yards in the win over the Houston Texans. The hope is that Otton will see his role in the receiving game increase as the season goes on. The Bucs are shorthanded at wide receiver with Chris Godwin (ankle) and Jalen McMillan (neck) out. Also, rookie Emeka Egbuka (hip, groin) is listed as questionable for the Week 3 matchup against the New York Jets. That being said, Otton figures to see a larger role because the Bucs don't have many weapons on offense. However, Otton hasn't given fantasy managers much reason to trust him. He should be considered a low-end streaming option until he proves otherwise.

From RotoBaller

Sep 12 5:20pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton was unable to get anything going during the season opener last week. Otton failed to bring in any of his three targets in the win. It's worth noting that Otton was dealing with a groin injury heading into this game. Possibly, Otton's lack of contribution was due to his groin problems. He appears to be fine heading into the Week 2 matchup against the Houston Texans. It's worth noting that Otton has topped 35 yards in just one of his last seven outings, dating back to last season. It's probably best if Otton is left on the bench until he proves he can be a reliable contributor.

From RotoBaller

Sep 5 5:50pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton (groin) is off the injury report and cleared for Sunday's season opener against the Atlanta Falcons. The top tight end opened the week as a limited participant due to a groin injury on Wednesday. However, Otton was able to log back-to-back full sessions on Thursday and Friday and was able to avoid carrying a designation into the weekend. Last season, the 26-year-old enjoyed a career year in his third NFL campaign. Otton caught 59 passes for 600 yards and four touchdowns on 87 targets. With Chris Godwin (ankle) and Jalen McMillan (neck) not suiting up in this contest, Otton carries sneaky streaming appeal in deeper 14+ team formats and a budget play upside in DFS, as he should operate as the team's No. 3 pass-catching option alongside Mike Evans and Emeka Egbuka.

From RotoBaller

Sep 4 7:00pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton (groin) was listed as a full practice participant on Thursday, which was an upgrade over Wednesday, when he was limited, according to Brianna Dix of Buccaneers.com. Otton is battling a groin injury and also missed time in training camp this summer with a hamstring injury, but he appears to be fully healthy now and is trending toward playing in the Week 1 season opener on Sunday versus the division-rival Atlanta Falcons. The 26-year-old could have an elevated role early on in the passing game with both receivers Chris Godwin (ankle) and Jalen McMillan (neck) out, he's pegged as merely a low-end TE2 option for fantasy lineups to begin the year. He's worth a look as a TE2 sleeper if he's active after going for 12 catches, 125 yards and two touchdowns in two games in 2024 against Atlanta.
