Darren Waller's expected retirement could open the door for Daniel Bellinger to become the New York Giants' No. 1 tight end in 2024 like he was as a rookie. Bellinger's receiving opportunities were limited by Waller's presence last year, but the addition of veteran blocking tight ends this offseason should allow Bellinger to be featured more as a receiver in his third season in the league. The 23-year-old former fourth-round pick in 2022 out of San Diego State has caught 55 of his 63 targets for 523 yards and two touchdowns in his two seasons with the G-Men. If Waller hangs up his cleats as things seem to be trending, Bellinger could be a decent under-the-radar TE2 target in deeper fantasy leagues this fall.

New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger tallied four catches for 43 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles last week, but it's highly unlikely he'll replicate those numbers against the Los Angeles Rams. Both of those were season-high marks and the second-year professional sits behind Darren Waller on the tight end depth chart. The Giants' offense ranks second to last in points per game (14.3) and doesn't have much consistency at the quarterback position. Bellinger doesn't belong on rosters in any format, except deep dynasty leagues.

The second-year tight end caught 12 passes for 138 yards in five games without New York's prized offseason addition. Waller is expected to make his return to the starting lineup on Sunday. If he does, however, he's not expected to play his regular allotment of snaps. Bellinger may see a few more opportunities for one more week, but his window as the TE1 in New York is shutting. Regardless, he didn't make the most of his chance, at least in the fantasy football realm, and shouldn't be rostered outside of dynasty formats.

New York Giants wide receiver Parris Campbell (knee) is officially inactive on Monday night with the team getting set to face the Green Bay Packers. Campbell injured his knee late last week at practice and was considered questionable to play in Week 14. Meanwhile, tight end Daniel Bellinger, who was also listed as questionable due to an illness, will play. Campbell's absence doesn't really move the needle at all in fantasy, as he has only 20 receptions for 104 yards and no touchdowns in 12 games in his first year in New York in 2023. Gunner Olszewski should serve as the team's kick returner with the 26-year-old sidelined for the first time all year. Bellinger isn't very attractive as a TE streamer, either, catching nine passes for 123 yards and no scores with Darren Waller (hamstring) out.

Unfortunately, his production hasn't matched that of a starting tight end. The sophomore has drawn just three targets in all three games, totaling eight catches for 115 yards. That would be a great stat line for one game. It isn't even on the fantasy football radar when spread across three games. It remains to be seen if Waller will return from injured reserve following the New York bye week. Regardless, Bellinger does not need to be added or started on fantasy football rosters.
