Buffalo Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard (ankle) said he feels very good health-wise after he missed the team's playoff lost against the Kansas City Chiefs due to an ankle injury. All signs point to Bernard being fully ready for training camp this summer and for the start of the 2024 regular season this fall. The 24-year-old was second in overall IDP fantasy points at the linebacker position in 2023, behind only Atlanta Falcons linebacker Foyesade Oluokun. In 17 regular-season games, Bernard racked up a career-high 143 tackles (84 solo), a career-high 6.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, nine QB hits, three interceptions, five passes defended and three fumble recoveries. As long as he's healthy in 2024, Bernard is going to be in play as a weekly starting linebacker in IDP formats.

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that safety Taylor Rapp (calf), cornerback Christian Benford (knee) and linebacker Baylon Spector (back) will be out for the Divisional Round on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Rapp will be missing his second straight game due to a calf injury. With the 26-year-old out, Damar Hamlin will be active and should see increased playing time as KC looks to slow down the defending Super Bowl champions. The Bills defense could be even more short-handed, as linebackers Terrel Bernard (ankle) and Tyrel Dodson (shoulder) and cornerbacks Taron Johnson (concussion) and Rasul Douglas (knee) could all be game-time decisions. Buffalo's banged-up defense is good news for Patrick Mahomes and Company as they look to get back to the AFC Championship.

Buffalo Bills cornerback Rasul Douglas (knee) and linebacker Tyrel Dodson (shoulder) will practice in some capacity on Wednesday. It's good news for both players, but the Bills defense is still incredibly beat up ahead of the Divisional Round meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday. Cornerback Christian Benford (knee), linebacker Terrel Bernard (ankle), safety Taylor Rapp (calf) and linebacker Baylon Spector (back) all missed practice on Wednesday. Cornerback Taron Johnson (concussion) was limited. The 28-year-old has been Buffalo's top cornerback since he was acquired in a trade from the Green Bay Packers, but he injured his knee in Week 18 and was inactive for Monday's wild-card playoff win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. It remains to be seen which Bills defenders will be able to play this weekend, but either way, Buffalo's defense could be thin on impact starters against KC.

The Buffalo Bills suffered more injuries to starters in their 31-17 wild-card playoff win over the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday, as top tackler and turnover generator Terrel Bernard (ankle), nickelback Taron Johnson (head) and surging cornerback Christian Benford (knee) were all injured. Five of the Bills' defensive starters from the Week 18 regular season finale against Miami are injured and in jeopardy of being unavailable for the Divisional Round showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs. X-rays on Bernard's injured right ankle came back negative, but he was on crutches after the game and with his foot in a walking boot. Bernard recorded a team-high 143 tackles, 6.5 sacks, three picks and three fumble recoveries during the regular season, so not having him against KC would be a huge loss for Buffalo's defense. A.J. Klein, who was just signed to the scout team last week, led the Bills with 11 tackles on Monday.

Buffalo Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard (leg) was taken off the field in the third quarter on a cart during Monday's wild-card playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a cast on his lower right leg and a towel over his head. Dorian Williams replaced Bernard after he left. In addition to Bernard, the Bills also lost cornerback Christian Benford to a knee injury earlier in this game and can ill-afford any more injuries on that side of the ball. The 24-year-old Bernard was a key player on defense all year for Buffalo, so it would be bad news for their defense moving forward if they advance past the Steelers to play in the Divisional Round. Bernard's injury didn't look good. We'd be surprised if he comes back into this game, let alone for the rest of the postseason.
