Seattle Seahawks running back C.J. Prosise may be moved to receiver with the team hurting at the position with Doug Baldwin (knee) expected to miss a couple of weeks. "We've been talking about it," head coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Tuesday. "He does have the background [with] a couple years in college." Prosise is currently behind Chris Carson, rookie Rashaad Penny and Mike Davis on the running back depth chart and without Baldwin the Seahawks have only four active wideouts. Prosise had no rushing attempts or catches in Week 1 against Denver. While adding WR eligibility would be nice for Prosise, he's unlikely to carve out a fantasy role if he changes positions.
Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise could be moved to receiver in the wake of Doug Baldwin's knee injury, according to head coach Pete Carroll.
Fantasy Spin: This idea makes sense on multiple levels, including the fact Prosise has struggled to stay healthy at running back and spent some time at receiver in college. The Seahawks are also deep at running back with Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny and Mike Davis, so it makes sense from that standpoint as well. Prosise obviously does not need to be claimed off waivers yet, but this is a development that could give him an avenue to be relevant again - especially if his official position remains running back.
The Seattle Seahawks placed running back J.D. McKissic (foot) on Injured Reserve on Monday and claimed linebacker Jermaine Grace off waivers from the Browns in a corresponding move, according to ESPN's Field Yates. McKissic will be eligible to return to the team after Week 8. The team will open the year with Chris Carson as the starter, backed up by rookie Rashaad Penny, C.J. Prosise and Mike Davis.
Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise's roster spot is 'certainly up in the air,' according to Andy Patton of SeahawksWire.
Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise will 'play quite a bit' in the preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings Friday, Aug. 24, according to head coach Pete Carroll.
Seattle Seahawks running back JD McKissic (foot) will be sidelined at least four to six weeks due to a foot injury suffered earlier this week during practice. "It's a 4-6 week deal for JD," head coach Pete Carroll said Thursday. "We really miss him, he has been such a spark plug for our club and done so many things that it's unfortunate he's going to miss." With McKissic on the mend for at least a month, C.J. Prosise gets a chance to carve out a bigger role if he can remain healthy. McKissic's injury also affects the fantasy value of the Seahawks DST, as he has been a dynamic player in the return game at times.
Seattle Seahawks running back C.J. Prosise is expected to see more playing time in the preseason game on Friday night in Minnesota. He missed the first preseason game, and was limited last week as he makes his way back from a hip injury. "C.J. was very limited in his first game, he's not so limited this time around," head coach Pete Carroll said. "He'll play more." There has never been any doubt about Prosise's immense talent, but his propensity for injury has kept him from making much of a dent over his first two seasons in the NFL. He has the potential to be a useful fantasy option, particularly in PPR formats, but his role will be limited due to the presence of Chris Carson, Rashaan Penny, Mike Davis and JD McKissic.
Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise has done enough in training camp to make offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer believe in his ability to contribute this season. 'Tremendous skill set. Tremendous. Size, speed, athleticism, ability to catch the ball, matchup problem. (He's a) very, very talented young man that we expect great things from this year. We know we can use him a lot of different ways,' Schottenheimer said.
Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (hip) was able to make his preseason debut Saturday, Aug. 18, against the Los Angeles Chargers. He finished with 12 rushing yards on three carries while posting six receptions for 35 yards on his six targets.
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said running back C.J. Prosise (hip) is ready to go for the preseason game on Saturday. Prosise has added opportunity to make a case for a roster spot for the rest of the preseason with rookie Rashaad Penny out. The 24-year-old has played in just 11 games in his two seasons and must make some noise in the next couple of weeks in order to make the 53-man roster. He can be ignored in fantasy leagues for now.
Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (hip) is on track to play in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 18 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (hip) was back at practice Wednesday, Aug. 15, after missing two sessions due to a hip flexor.
Seattle Seahawks running back C.J. Prosise (hip) returned to padded practice on Wednesday. Prosise has plenty of talent but is injured more often than he is healthy. He has an opportunity for more repetitions with rookie Rashaad Penny (finger) sidelined several weeks, but Prosise still has Chris Carson, Mike Davis and J.D. McKissic ahead of him. Prosise must first prove that he's healthy before fantasy owners will take notice.
Seattle Seahawks running back C.J. Prosise (hip) missed practice for the second straight day on Monday, but head coach Pete Carroll said that Prosise has a chance to return to practice on Wednesday and has a chance to play in the second preseason game against the Chargers this Saturday. It always seems to be some injury with Prosise, as he's played in just 11 of 32 games since being drafted in 2016. He needs to prove to fantasy owners that he can stay healthy first. And he has plenty of competition with Chris Carson, rookie Rashaad Penny, Mike Davis and J.D. McKissic.
Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (hip) missed his second straight practice Monday, Aug. 13, due to a hip flexor injury.
Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (hip) could be ready to face the Los Angeles Chargers in the preseason Saturday, Aug. 18, according to head coach Pete Carroll
Seattle Seahawks running back C.J. Prosise (hip) was held out of the preseason opener on Thursday with what general manager John Schneider called "a little hip thing." Head coach Pete Carroll made it sound like Prosise will be fine in the long run. "His groin -- check that -- his hip flexor just kind of acted up right at the middle end of the last practice; so we just kept him out of there. He ran in pregame and did okay but just wasn't quite ready to jump back out there," Carroll said during his post-game press conference. With Prosise, it always seems to be some sort of injury. He can't afford any lost time in training camp and the preseason either, as he's competing with Mike Davis and J.D. McKissic for a role behind Chris Carson and rookie Rashaad Penny. If he can't stay healthy, Prosise is unlikely to make the roster. Avoid him in fantasy leagues. Prosise now has seven injuries in the NFL and has played in 11 of 32 possible games.
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll continues to rave about the shape that running back C.J. Prosise is in at training camp. Prosise is now an option on third downs but will have to remain healthy after missing 21 of a possible 32 games in his first two years in the league. Not only will he have to prove his health, but Prosise must battle with rookie Rashaad Penny, Chris Carson, Mike Davis and J.D. McKissic for playing time. He has some upside as a late-round flier in deeper leagues.
Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise worked with the first-team offense during the two-minute drill during training camp Sunday, July 29, and Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times believes Prosise will likely have the same role when the season begins.
Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise has 'looked good' during OTAs, according to head coach Pete Carroll, but Carroll said Prosise is 'battling' for a roster spot.
