2024 RTSports Outlook

Freeman played with the Texans late last season, getting in the last four games. He even got a start. Freeman had 150 total yards on the season. He averaged just 2.9 yards per carry on the season, though. Freeman did not do much with his chances. He will look to grab a reserve role this coming season. Freeman is more of a power back that is tough between the tackles. He has good balance and is a tough player to bring down because of his size. He is a much improved pass catcher that can be an asset in the passing game because of his pass protection and ability to catch the ball.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Freeman could improve a little on last year, but don't expect a huge jump. And even when getting more playing time past seasons, Freeman had little fantasy value. He might get around 200 total yards with a score or two.

Jan 7 8:43pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Royce Freeman rushed four times for two yards in Week 18 against the San Francisco 49ers, while adding a 13-yard catch on his lone target.

From TheHuddle

Jan 7 4:40am ET

Los Angeles Rams running back Royce Freeman has an opportunity to lead the backfield with Kyren Williams being rested. Freeman was given an increased role when Williams went on injured reserve earlier this season and impressed. The 27-year-old has carried the ball 73 times for 317 yards and two touchdowns on the ground this season. He beat out Darrell Henderson Jr. and has proven to be the best pure runner when Williams is out. Facing the San Francisco 49ers in Week 18, consider Freeman as a cheap DFS dart throw and RB4 in fantasy leagues.

From RotoBaller

Dec 10 7:53pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Royce Freeman ended up with three rushes for nine yards with no targets in the pass game in Week 14 against the Baltimore Ravens.

From TheHuddle

Dec 4 2:40pm ET

Los Angeles Rams running back Royce Freeman rushed just one time for no yards and did not see a target in the Week 13 win over the Cleveland Browns. It was a disappointing development for fantasy managers who utilized him as a deep-league flex play. After his usage on Sunday, he can no longer be trusted in fantasy lineups. That said, he remains a bench stash in case Kyren Williams has to miss any time down the stretch. Darrell Henderson is on the team's practice squad, so Freeman looks to have beat him out. It's worth noting Ronnie Rivers (knee) could return from Injured Reserve soon.

From RotoBaller

Dec 3 9:23pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Royce Freeman ended up with just one rush for no gain and he was not targeted in the pass game in Week 13 against the Cleveland Browns.

From TheHuddle

Nov 26 9:03pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Royce Freeman rushed 13 times for 77 yards and a touchdown in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals, while he was not targeted in the pass game.

Fantasy Spin: As promised, Freeman still had a role despite the return of Kyren Williams from the reserve/injured list. However, as long as Williams is healthy, Freeman is more of an RB3 or flex fantasy play in leagues of 12 or more teams going forward.

From TheHuddle

Nov 19 11:00pm ET

Los Angeles Rams running back Royce Freeman was the clear base-down back in the team's 17-16 win against the Seattle Seahawks. Freeman carried the ball 17 times for 73 yards, leading the team in rushing yards for the fourth straight game. He has been more efficient than Darrell Henderson Jr. on the ground by a wide margin since the injury of Kyren Williams (ankle). While Freeman has produced with the carries he has gotten, Henderson is the team's pass-down back. Factoring in that Williams has a good chance to return in their Week 12 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, Freeman is a low-end RB4 at best but should now be considered over Henderson.

From RotoBaller

Nov 19 10:23pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Royce Freeman rushed 17 times for a game-high 73 yards in Week 11 against the Seattle Seahawks, and he was not targeted in the pass game.

Fantasy Spin: Freeman led the backfield, as head coach Sean McVay went with the hot hand. Darrell Henderson Jr. wasn't it, as he had six carries for a single yard, while posting four receptions. Fantasy managers will want to target Freeman as a RB3 or flex option heading into Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals.

From TheHuddle

Nov 19 12:20am ET

Los Angeles Rams running back Royce Freeman has played over 40% of all offensive snaps through the last three weeks. Kyren Williams (knee) can not be activated off IR until Week 12, giving Freeman another opportunity to produce. Freeman has been much more efficient than Darrell Henderson Jr. on the ground but has been a non-factor in the passing game. The 27-year-old now faces a Seattle Seahawks defense that has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing backs. He should be considered a low-end and deep-league flex play in Week 11.

From RotoBaller

Nov 5 6:43pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Royce Freeman rushed 12 times for a team-high 32 yards in Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers, and he did not have a reception with just one target.

From TheHuddle

Nov 5 6:30pm ET

Los Angeles Rams running back Royce Freeman was not efficient in the team's Week 9 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Freeman rushed the ball 12 times for just 32 yards on the ground while drawing one target which he could not bring in. The 27-year-old has now led the team in rush yards for all three games that Kyren Williams (ankle) has been out for. Freeman and Darrell Henderson Jr. have split the backfield almost evenly, making it tough to trust either weekly. Freeman is an RB4 option at best in his Week 10 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

From RotoBaller

Nov 5 1:40am ET

Los Angeles Rams running back Royce Freeman has split snaps almost evenly with Darrell Henderson Jr. over the last two games. Freeman has rushed the ball 21 times for 110 yards and one touchdown during that span. What has held the 27-year-old back is his lack of involvement in the passing game, as he has yet to draw a single target on the season. Freeman out-snapped Henderson in Week 8 and proved to be more efficient on the ground. With Brett Rypien likely to start at quarterback, the team may lean much more into the run game. Treat Freeman as a sneaky flex play in his Week 9 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

From RotoBaller

Oct 29 6:10pm ET

Los Angeles Rams running back Royce Freeman led the team in rushing during their Week 8 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The 27-year-old rushed the ball nine times for an efficient 44 yards on the ground, as well as the team's only rushing touchdown. However, he did not draw a single target for the second straight week and looks to be strictly a runner out of the backfield. Freeman should have already been picked up in all leagues and is worth a stash at the very least with Kyren Williams (ankle) out. He should be played as an RB4 and desperate flex start in the team's Week 9 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

From RotoBaller

Oct 29 4:53pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Royce Freeman rushed for 44 yards and one touchdown on nine carries against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8.

From TheHuddle

Oct 29 2:10am ET

Los Angeles Rams running back Royce Freeman is splitting the backfield with Darrell Henderson Jr. as Kyren Williams (ankle) is out. The 27-year-old played 43% of all offensive snaps in Week 7, while Henderson played the other 57%. Freeman rushed the ball 12 times for 66 yards on the ground, which led the team. It is evident that the team trusts the two backs over Zach Evans and Myles Gaskin and they will continue to receive the majority of the workload. Treat Freeman as an RB4 and mainly a start in deep leagues against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8.

From RotoBaller

Oct 22 9:30pm ET

Los Angeles Rams running back Royce Freeman shared the backfield with Darrell Henderson Jr. in the team's Week 7 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Freeman rushed the ball 12 times for 66 yards, however, he did not draw a single target. While the 27-year-old did share the backfield with Henderson, he was the number two behind him. It is still a good sign to see him be as efficient as he was leading the team in rushing. Freeman should be picked up in all leagues if available and treated as a very low-end RB3 in the team's Week 8 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.

From RotoBaller

Oct 22 8:33pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Royce Freeman rushed 12 times for a team-high 66 yards in a 24-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7.

Fantasy Spin: Freeman had five more rushing yards than fellow back Darrell Henderson, but the latter led the team with 18 carries and also caught a pass. While Kyren Williams is sidelined, Freeman should remain part of a committee with Henderson, putting both backs in the flex mix.

From TheHuddle

Oct 22 10:43am ET

Los Angeles Rams RBs Royce Freeman and Darrell Henderson are expected to split the bulk of the carries in Week 7's game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. RB Zach Evans is also likely to see a handful of touches.

Fantasy Spin: The Rams' top two running backs, Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee), are both on injured reserve, meaning that the team will have to resort to a committee approach this afternoon. Freeman and Henderson could be used as flex options in deeper fantasy leagues, while Evans probably won't see enough playing time to warrant inclusion in fantasy starting lineups.

From TheHuddle

Oct 21 3:30am ET

Los Angeles Rams running back Royce Freeman will compete with Zach Evans and Darrell Henderson for touches with Kyren Williams (ankle) out. Freeman has yet to play an offensive snap this season but will have the opportunity to showcase what he has left in the tank through the next few weeks. The 27-year-old played in Houston last season when Dameon Pierce went down with an injury, however, he was not very productive during that time. Freeman is worth a pickup but should not be played unless necessary this week. He should be looked at as a DFS dart throw or flex in extremely deep leagues against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7.

Los Angeles Rams RB Royce Freeman was signed off the practice squad and added to the active roster on Tuesday, Oct. 17.
