2019 RTSports Outlook

Brown had a career-high in touchdowns last year (five), but had just 14 receptions. Needless to say, he made the most of his chances, making some big plays his first year in Seattle. Brown is yet to top 500-receiving yards in a season, so don't expect a big sudden change in production. He is reserve material for fantasy teams, getting spot work.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Brown might be able to build a little on last year, but he isn't going to be a fantasy star by any means. Unless injury hits and he finds his way into the starting lineup, Brown probably isn't worth a roster spot. Expect around 20 receptions for 250 yards and a few scores.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaron Brown is fighting for a role in three-wide sets in his second year in Seattle now that Doug Baldwin has retired. Baldwin and Tyler Lockett combined for most of the offense from the receiver room in 2018. Brown was the eighth most targeted receiver but had 14 catches for 166 yards and a career-high five touchdowns on his 19 targets last year. He told ESPN's John Clayton that he's focusing on yards after the catch this offseason and has bulked up. "I also got a little bit bigger. Im at 220 right now, so I added some more muscle, wanted to get bigger. Might be playing on the outside, might be playing in the slot a little bit, and blocking those big defensive ends, so I wanted to add a little more weight," Brown said. He should be third behind Lockett and rookie D.K. Metcalf, which will make him a deep sleeper worth taking a flier on late in fantasy drafts.

Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has been very impressed with wide receiver Jaron Brown. Jaron Brown, hes not a young guy, but wow, talking about just an unbelievable camp, I mean, really stepping up, Schottenheimer volunteered. Brown had 14 catches for 166 yards and five touchdowns last season and should have a much bigger role this year now that Doug Baldwin has retired. Tyler Lockett and rookie D.K. Metcalf will be the top two receivers, but Brown has an excellent chance to be in three-wide sets and is a sleeper to consider late in drafts.

Seattle Seahawks WR Jaron Brown has enjoyed an 'unbelievable' offseason, according to offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who echoed earlier comments from head coach Pete Carroll that Brown could have a larger role this season. '(Brown) did so much of the dirty work for us last year that ... we kind of forgot that he's a really established receiver and he's looked dynamic out here,' Schottenheimer said.

May 24 7:30pm ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaron Brown was working with the first team in organized team activities alongside Tyler Lockett, with rookie D.K. Metcalf mostly with the second-team offense. Metcalf also tried his hand returning some punts, but he didn't look so good. The 29-year-old Brown had 14 receptions for 166 yards and a career-high five touchdowns in his first full season with Seattle last year. There's opportunity with Doug Baldwin retiring, but Lockett and Metcalf are expected to be the top two wideouts, while Brown will have to battle with David Moore, Malik Turner, Amara Darboh and several rookies. Brown might be a waiver wire addition early in the year in deeper leagues if he wins a starting job and produces early on.
