Hello FFL players! Here are the Rules for this year's (and the next five years) FFL:
Commissioner: Greg W.
The league consists of two six-team conferences.
The NFC Conference and the AFC Conference.
The official website is www.rtsports.com
The Fee is $100.00
This is a 5 Year Keep League:
Draft:
The draft will be held
There will be 18 rounds. It will be the traditional serpentine drafting order that is very familiar to veteran fantasy players. Each team owner will be allowed 2 minutes per draft selection.
League determination is with this position drawing --
Starting lineups
1QB
2RB
2WR
1TE
1 flex(RB,WR,TE)
1 K
A There will be an injured Reserve. You may place up to 1 player on IR; prerequisite being that player must appear on the official IR list or Physically Unable to Perform posted at NFL.com. These are designated by IR or U on rtsports.
This was amended 10/8/04. Due to NFL IR changes we felt it necessary to change our rules as well. It was voted Unanimously that if a player is listed as OUT on the RTSPORTS website that you can place them on IR. If they show Q,P,D they can not be placed on IR and if they are upgraded to Q,P,D they need to be taken off IR Season:
The season will consist of 14 wks. Playoffs week 15-17 will be reserved for the playoffs.
Playoffs will consist of the 2 division winners and 4 wildcard teams.
Wildcards teams are the next 4 teams with the best record regardless of division affiliation. Tiebreakers for identical records go to total points (fantasy) scored, then head to head, than division record.
Week 15 will be the wild card playoffs. 1 vs. 4, 2 vs.3. Division Winners will get a bye.
Week 16 Best Division winner plays the worst wildcard team ceded that advances. Again 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3.
Week 17 the SUPER BOWL of the reaming teams advancing.
This is head-to-head competition. Team with the highest score each week wins the game. If the score is tied it will go in the standings as a tie.
Trades/Pickups/Waivers:
Trades between teams must be submitted to the league for approval. There will be a team vote on trade proposals; with individuals within the league excused from voting if they are part of the trade.
Trades must be submitted by FRIDAY, Midnight for players to play on following Sunday.
Wavier Period between drafting period and opening day: After the draft there is an immediate open waiver wire period from the end of the draft until the opening kickoff of the first game of the season. To make transactions please contact the commisioner as there will be no other way to get players until the waiver period begins after week 1.
After week one the worst-to-first waiver selection process will begin. You will be able to see how much time is remaining for this waiver period at www.rtsports.com. You may select your desired players on the site. If you need assistance with this please contact a commissioner.
Free Agent Waiver claims must be submitted by Thursday @Noon.
Thursday after 6 PM thru Sunday 12:59 PM become first-come first-serve on pick-ups or what is known as open waiver-wire period in the event that there is an injury, etc. . . You will be able to make such transactions without approval from the commissioner. Just remember you must have 1 K and 1 D/ST. A player may be acquired previous to the kickoff of any game as long as that game has not started.
Trading Deadline is after week 10 of the NFL season.
Trading will be opened again during the week of the following NFL pre-season if individuals chose to trade away potential keepers.
Waiver wires go up to the Super bowl game.
All waivers are closed immediately after the Super Bowl and will not open again until as deemed the following season.
Only teams that make the Playoffs can pick up players once the playoffs start. Toilet bowl teams cannot pick up players after week 13.

Keeper League
This is a 5-year Keeper League
Each team will be able to protect any 2 players each year regardless of position.
No team will be able to keep more than 2 players. You may choose to keep 1 or none.
A player picked up on waivers is considered a 7th round player. If you trade for a player then his draft position for the following year goes with him
Drafting in 2nd year:
The players that are kept will be slotted into that same draft spot from the previous year (I.E. You want to keep your 2nd round pick J.Mixon and your 5th round pick J. Chase. They will be slotted in the the 2nd and 5th rounds of the current draft)
You can't protect 2 FIRST round picks, so if you trade for a first round pick and you already have one you can't protect both (Due to slotting in the following years draft). You can protect multiple other round round picks such as 2 second round picks but one of those players becomes a first round pick while the other stays a 2nd round pick. Owners choice on which player gets designated to which round.
Drafting the 3rd year:
You lose a draft round for each year you keep the same player.
If you want to keep the same players for a third year they lose 1 round in the draft (I.E. Mixon would be slotted into the first round and Chase would be slotted in the 4th round)
If you keep them another year Mixon will remain a first but Chase becomes a 3rd round pick.
You can trade keepers up until the draft. All players involved in the trade must be kept as keepers for their new team. Any draft round associated with each player will move with the player .
Draft order:
There will be no random or lottery drawing for draft selection after the first year. Drafting will be in order of worst to first as finished during the previous season -- with the Super Bowl winner considered League Champion -- runner-up 11 draft selector, winners of the wildcard games 10, and 9th (by record, then total points, head to head) wildcard losers 8th and 7th(by record, then points and head to head) and 6 thru 1st draft pick by record if tied then total points then head to head)from the previous year. The draft order will be 1-12 and 12 back thru 1 as is standard for such drafts. Yes we are punishing someone for winning the Super Bowl -- but we are protecting the League against dynasties (we hope).
Keepers - Deadline to be at beginning of the following season. You will designate keeper players draft day of the subsequent season. You can trade players prior to the draft but all players traded must be kept as keepers.
GURU Tournament:
You will earn pts. Based on where you finish in the standings each year with-in your division.
1st = 6 pts.
2nd = 5 pts.
3rd = 4 pts.
4th = 3 pts.
5th = 2 pts.
6th = 1pts.
If the regular season standing has a record tie -- the winner for the point system is determined via the same system that determines division winner and wildcard teams -- point total.
After completion of year 5 the team with the most guru pts. Gets $125 and the title of GURU to the Fantasy GODS. If there is a point tie -- it then goes by record -- if there is a record tie it then falls to head-to-head record -- if this were to be identical then it would go to total points (fantasy game points) for the 5 years.
A player that leaves the League before the end of 5 years is not eligible for GURU status or monies. He is considered a sell-out, or in most cases a "BEOTCH."
He may sell the team to another owner who will take over the BEOTCH’s pts and is eligible for GURU and monies.
All money will be deposited into a savings account that we set up strictly for the FFL.
We will decide on what we will do with the interest in about 20 years when it will actually = something.
Until then it will roll over so that the account always has a balance in the off-season.
Schedule Balance:
Each team will play every other team once and two teams with-in their respective conferences once more for a total of 2 games per year against in-division rival (totaling 13 games for the season). The next year the 2 team(s) that a given opponent will play inter-division will be 2 different teams within the conference to be determined by that teams record. The best team in the conference will play the next best team of the 4 reaming teams (the 2 teams from year one not being eligible to be on the schedule). The 3rd year of the schedule the 1 remaining team that was not encountered twice will be slated to go against each other and one other team from year one's schedule. The 4th year of the schedule will then rotate back to 2 other teams. The fifth year the last 2 teams that haven't been played 2 x 2 will fill out the schedule. If you understand any of this, you should be commissioner yourself.
This was all changed with the 2004 scoring due to scheduling conflicts and the difficulty of it. The schedule was changed to Random and really doesn't matter over 5 years as the rosters change so much.
Scoring disputes and other concerns:
As you may remember last year the scoring system wasn’t perfect at the beginning of the season. I do not anticipate any problems this year but if scoring errors do occur a team owner has one week from the end of the Monday Night football game to place an official protest. Please place any protest with one of the commissioners. A protest can consist of a scoring dispute or any other such concerns. If there is found to be a constitutional loophole in our By-Laws it will be settled via a committee vote and will stand as such. All members of the league will sign one master document that will make it officially known that all persons participating in the league understand this.
