By-Laws

All rule changes are based on majority vote and must be invoked prior to the start of the season. Rules voted on during the season are valid for the following year. In an extreme circumstance a rule or setting is suggested to be changed mid-season then a unanimous vote is required. In the event of a tie vote the commissioner's vote is weighted (counted as two votes) and serves as the tie-breaker.

A line-up or waiver request can never be altered after the start of the game or after a deadline without a time stamped email or voicemail request and explanation. If the website ever blocks you out; locks you out; changes a deadline by mistake; your computer is down; or for any other reason you cannot change your line-up you must contact the commissioner by email or voice mail prior the deadline for submitting lineups for the week. The assistant commissioner should also be copied or contacted for your protection, (but this is not required). NO FUTURE EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE!!!! EVER!!!!!       - January 13, 2007


The waiver order is set based on the current standings, with the last place team getting the first selection from waivers and the first place team getting the last selection. If there is a waiver period prior to the first week of games then the waiver order would mimic the draft order. Since tie-breakers are factored into the standings (see Special Rules section below) there is no need for further tie-breaker rules for the waiver ‘draft’. – September 10, 2008

 

THE GROVER RULE: The league entry fee is due on draft day, payable to the league commissioner or league treasurer (if appointed). Any owner past due will have his roster locked and all transactions (trades, waiver pick-ups, etc) will be blocked until the payment is received.  – September 1, 2009

 

To discourage owners from becoming inactive or inattentive the following rules have been implemented: 

-          After week 16, the team in 8th place is disbanded and pays $50 to the pot (all players return to the free agent pool, but are still eligible for keepers)

-          After week 17, the team in 7th place is disbanded and pays $25 to the pot (all players return to the free agent pool, but are still eligible for keepers)      

-          After week 18, the team in 6th place is disbanded and pays $0 to the pot (all players return to the free agent pool; but are still eligible for keepers)

-          After week 19, the team in 5th place is disbanded and pays $0 to the pot (all players return to the free agent pool, but are still eligible for keepers)

-       After the Super Bowl is complete, the 8th place team pays $50 to the pot and the 7th place team pays $25 to the pot.

-          The $50 penalty is awarded to the team that finishes the season in 4th place

-          The $25 penalty is awarded to the team that finishes the season in 5th place  - September 1, 2009   Modified 9/5/11   

Beginning with the completion of week 16 (and prior to the start of week 17), there will be two rounds of waivers each week through the end of the year. These two rounds are typically set up for Thursday and Friday but are subject to change. THIS IS A TWO ROUND ‘SNAKE’ DRAFT. The 8th place owner will pick last on night one and first on night two.  - September 1, 2009          

 The top two teams will be awarded 3 points for home field advantage during the first week of playoffs only - September 3, 2012

Miscellaneous:

  • The League drafts on Labor Day at 5:00pm at the Lake of the Woods pool unless otherwise agreed upon

  • Each owner enters the current year’s draft with one player on their roster, referred to as their ‘KEEPER’. The keeper must be designated by August 1st. Each owner has the right to change their keeper only one time prior to the first pick of the league draft. To be keeper eligible both of the following conditions must be true:
    1. The Player must have been drafted by the same owner in the previous year’s draft after the completion of the Third Round

    2. The Player must be present on the same owner’s roster at the time the Super Bowl is over or at the time the owner’s roster is disbanded (whichever comes first).  NOTE: The player need not be on the owner’s roster the entire year to be keeper eligible.
  • The Draft is 17 rounds in length and broken down as follows:

    1. After 15 rounds every owner must have: 3 QB, 4 RB, 5 WR, 2 K, 2 D

    2. During rounds 16 & 17 owner’s may add any two players of their choice (no position restrictions)

    3. Draft order is set in reverse order of the previous years final standings. (8th place drafts 1st, 7th place drafts 2nd……………………1st place drafts 8th). All new owners draft after existing owners. If one new owner he shall draft 8th, if two owners they shall draft 7th and 8th, etc. In the event that there is more than one new owner the commissioner shall determine the draft positions by a fair method of his choice (draw names from hat, guess the number of fingers behind his back, rock-paper-scissors, pistols at noon, swords at dawn, etc)
  • Payouts

    • Total Points after completion of NFL Super Bowl
      • 1st Place – 50% of pot
      • 2nd Place – 25% of pot
      • 3rd Place – 15% of pot
    • Woods Playoff Champ (a.k.a. “Chump Champ”)
      • Winner of 4 team, 2 wk playoff (NFL weeks 15-16) – 10 % of pot
