Dynasty Desert Fantasy Football Rules

Item 1 - Fees

Each team will pay a yearly entry fee of $100 which includes the web-site hosting fee (currently $90 on RTS).  The money is due before the draft.  New teams will also be required to submit a $50 deposit.

Item 2 - Draft

The rookie/FA draft will be on-line at RTSports.com on Aug. 22nd starting at noon.   There will be 8 rounds based on the reverse order of the prior year's final playoff results (winners and losers brackets). Trading draft picks prior to, during, and following the draft is permitted, including picks for the following year.  During the draft there will be a 5 minute time limit for every selection. 

Item 3 – Protected Players

Each year a Team Owner will be able to protect 15 players from the prior year's ending roster.  Players will be moved off of IR when cutting down the roster to 15 players.  Cut down day is August,xx 2018.  Protected players can then be traded prior to, during the draft, or after the draft. Rosters need to be cut down to 20 players on the Sunday just prior to the beginning of the season (cut down by Sept 3rd, 2018).

Item 4 – Weekly Lineups

The Lineups consist of 10 starters.  The positions are:

1 Quarterback

2 Running Backs

2 Wide Receivers

1 Tight End       

1 Team Kicker

1 Defense/Special Team

1 Wild Card (any position player or defense/ST)

1 Flex (RB, WR, TE)

Item 5 - Free Agents & Trades

FA acquisitions and trades are free.  Free agents are acquired through a bidding process that runs twice a week.  Each team will start with a $1,000 free agent budget.  This activity is included in the $100 entry fee.  A great deal of latitude will be used when evaluating trades in dynasty leagues, but overtly lopsided trades will be reviewed, and can be reversed by the commissioner. 

Item 6 – League Structure

The league structure will be a single 12 team division with the top 6 teams advancing to the playoffs.  The regular season will last 13 weeks, and there will be 3 weeks of playoffs. The 3rd-6th seeds will play in week 14 and the top 2 scoring teams will advance along with the top 2 seeds. The remaining 4 teams will play in a 2 week playoff. 

The weekly schedule will be head-to-head AND Victory points.  Each week the top 6 scoring teams will receive a win (and 1pt), and the remaining 6 teams will get a loss.  Victory points will be 1 pt for the top 6 scoring teams.  This scoring is slightly different than the structure used in 2014.

Item 7 – Payouts 

-The top scoring team in the final 2 week playoff receives 40% of the prize pool ($444).

-The 2nd highest scoring team in the final 2 week playoff receives 30% of the prize pool ($333).

-The 3rd highest scoring team in the final 2 week playoff receives 20% of the prize pool ($222).

-The 4th highest scoring team in the final 2 week playoff receives 10% of the prize pool ($111).
