Additional Rules
1. I will need $35 from each manager this year. This will go toward paying for the league (around $75.00) and paying
for prizes to winners. I will need this on or before the season starts. If payment is not sent in by this time, I may
freeze your account until it is paid. Please send payment to Brian Limbocker, 1057 Towne Lake Hills East, Woodstock, GA 30189. >
2. Each team can start up to 11 players. 1 qb, 1 rb, 1 wr, 1 te, 1 k, three offensive flex and three defensive
players. After looking at the poll, it seems that a majority wants to go back to the old sandbox way. Therefore, you
may only place EIGHT players on Offense. You have to start 1 QB, 1 rb, 1 wr, 1 te, and 1 K. The other three
offensive players can be a rb, wr or te.
If a team has 11 starters, at most, three of them MUST be defensive players. You may choose which defensive
position/positions to start each week. NOTE - If a team starts more than eight offensive players in a week, I will
delete the total number of points scored from his top offensive player (or players, depending on how many offensive
players you are using over your limit) for that week from his overall weekly score.
2(b) If a team starts more than 3 defensive players, I will delete the total number of points scored from his top
defensive player for that week from his overall weekly score. (2(b) was added 09/19/06)
3. Injured Reserve (IR) - The IR slot is only to be used for injured players. Players can be placed on IR only if
they are on the NFL Injury Report. Once that player clears the Injury Report, he must be taken out of the IR
slot. * Starting in 2020 there will be 4 IR Slots. One IR slot is to be used solely for injured players while the other 3 are only used for players that are missing games due to COVID.
4. Trades - All trades that are accepted by both parties are subject to the commissioner's approval.
5. Waived players - If you waive a player by accident, then you are out of luck. However, see rule 14 below.
6. Roster deadlines are set for 8:30 Monday evening. Should there be games played before Sunday's games (i.e. Thursday
or Saturday games) you may play a player or players for that game or games and still be able to make starting lineup
changes prior to Sunday games. Once a player is played or not played, he cannot be moved from either the starting
lineup or the bench. The commish will monitor the starting lineups for each team prior to the early games.
7. Tanking games is not permissible. Each team shall put out their most competitive team week in and week out.
Should it become OBVIOUS that a team is tanking it's game to gain an edge in draft position, etc., the commissioner
has the right to adjust that team's final score with the points from the best players for that week. The players with
the lowest points for the week, starting or benched, will be replaced by the points from the highest scoring players,
starting or benched.
8. The Wedgie Rule - TIE BREAKER PLAYERS - A tie breaker player must be a player in the teams starting roster for
that week. If the tie breaker player is not in the starting roster, the team will be awarded zero (0) points for
their tie breaker player.
9. DEADLINE FOR KEEPERS - The Commissioner shall set a deadline for teams to announce to the Commissioner who they are
electing to keep for the following year. Teams will announce who their keepers are by sending a private message to
the COMMISSIONER only. The Commissioner shall, before any other team sends to him their keepers, send a private
message to the team that was in last place the following year announcing which players the Commissioner will be
keeping. Upon receipt of the Commissioner's keepers, the last place team shall post a message to everyone that he is
in receipt of the Commissioner's keepers but SHALL NOT announce who the Commissioner's keepers are. Once everyone
receives this message, they shall send the Commissioner their keeper list. When the Commissioner has received all
keepers, he will post the keeper list on the website.
10. Trade Deadline - The Deadline for trades is 11:59 p.m. the Saturday before the 12th week of the NFL season. A
trade will be before the deadline if approved by both parties before the deadline.
11. Playoffs - There are six playoff spots in a three week playoff. The top team in each division will make the
playoffs. There will be two wild card teams. The first wild card team will make the playoffs based on the following:
1 - Team record
2 - Total Points Scored
3 - Head to Head
4 - Most points against
5 - coin flip
As for the 6th and final playof spot, the second wild card team will be determined as follows:
1 - Total points scored
2 - Total points for their tie breaker player (for the season)
(Team record is not used to determine the 6th wildcard spot)
If there is a tie for top team in the division, the tiebreaker will be determined as follows:
1 - Team Record
2 - Division Record
3 - Head to Head
4 - points scored
5 - Most points against
6 - Coin Flip
The playoffs will start in week 14. The top two seeds will receive a bye week. The 3rd seeded team will play the 6th seeded team and the 4th seeded team with play the 5th seeded team. The winner of those games will play the number 1st and 2nd seeded team. The 1st seeded team plays the lowest seeded team and the 2nd seeded plays the remaining team. The Beerbelly League Superbowl will be in week 16. Teams will be seeded as follows:
1 - Team record
2 - Total Points Scored
3 - Head to Head
4 - Most points Against
5 - coin flip
Ties - If two teams end up being tied in a playoff game (even after using the tie breaker player) the following will
be used to determine the winner:
1 - Total quarterback points for that week
2 - Total throwing yards by their starting quarterback.
3 - Total Rushing yards by their quarterback.
4 - Coin Flip.
12) Keeper Rules Effective 2010.
a) starting in 2010, managers will only be able to keep a max of 1 players per position.
b) Starting in 2010, you can keep 0-2 players. A player can only be kept for a maximum of three years (kept no more than 3 times). A player cannot be kept if he was either drafted in the first round of the previous year's draft or if the manager lost a first round draft pick for keeping him in the prior year's draft. (A player does not lose his draft status if he is traded to another team or if he is dropped by a manager and the commissioner decides that he was dropped with the intent of avoiding this rule). There will not be a supplemental draft. Rookie players can be drafted at any time in the draft.
c) Starting in the 2010 draft, the draft will start at round one and go through round 17. If a manger keeps two
players, that manager will only draft 15 players. Each manager will lose a draft pick two rounds above the round he
selected his keeper player from the following year. For example, if I drafted Eli Manning this year in the 8th round
and I elected to keep him next year, I would loose my 6th round pick. If I again choose to keep Manning in 2011, I would
then lose my 4th round pick.
d) Waiver wire or free agent pick ups - If a player is picked up off the waiver wire or free agency, and he is kept
for the next year, the player shall be treated as being drafted in the 10th round in the year he was acquired via
waiver wire. Therefore, if he is kept the following year, the manager keeping him will lose his 8th round pick.
e) A manager may not abuse this rule by intentionally dropping a player and subsequently picking up that same
player to better his position in the draft. Nor may a manager drop a player so that another manager can use this rule
to his advantage. If the commissioner believes that this has occurred, the commissioner may place the player back on
the team's roster that initially dropped the player and the transaction/transactions will be deemed as if it never
occurred.
f) If a manager has 2 or more players that were drafted in the same round (either through trade or free agent pick up) that manger will lose the next 2 or more rounds beginning with the round before they were
drafted. For example, if Naked kept Turner, who was a 4th round pick in 2009, and Bowe, who was
acquired via trade from Barstool and was a 4th round pick for Barstool, Naked would lose his 2nd and
3rd round picks. However, for the next year, if both Turner and Bowe are kept, and none were dropped and then
acquired via free agency or waiver wire, they both would be treated as being drafted in the 2nd round.
13) The team that finishes first for the year shall be allowed to rename the last place team for that same year. The last place team must keep the name for the whole year and shall be allowed to change his name once the season ends provided that he does not finish last again. If the first place team does not elect to change the last place team's name, the second place team shall be so honored.
14) The Balbricker Rule - Accidentally waiving players - If a manager accidentally waives a player from his roster, he may get that player back only if he posts a message on the league's message board stating that the transaction was made accidentally. Further, the message on the message board must be made within 5 minutes from dropping the wrong player. If done accordingly, the commissioner may void out the whole transaction involving the accidentally waived player. (This rule will become effective in the 2010 season)
15) COVID RULES 2020 AND DAMAR HAMLIN SCENARIO OF 2022
a) If the season ends abruptly, the team with the highest point total will win the league. However, only half of the prize money will go to the winner. The other half will be split amongst the weekly points leaders. So if the season ends in week 7, there will be 6 weekly points leaders and thus they will split the other half of the pot.
b) If a game is cancelled/rescheduled due to COVID or ANY OTHER REASON (DAMAR HAMLIN 2022) the manager will be given points based on the following: 1) If this occurs during weeks 1-3, we will look at the top 3 free agents at that position using RT Sports website (reports, top players) and take the average of those 3 players. That will be the score that they are given. 2) If this occurs in week 4 - playoffs, the missing players average weekly points for the year will be used.
