2024 3 Yards & A Cloud of Dust Auction League
Fees: League Fees will be $110.00. $10 of your league fees covers the website charge.
Auction Basics: The draft will consist of an Auction format (all run on the RT Sports website) in which each team will have a $200 budget to spend on an 18 player roster. Each team must fill each roster spot with a minimum player value of $1. The website will automatically adjust money left after a team bids and wins a player to account for how much money the owner has left to spend; and the maximum it could spend on 1 player to make sure there is enough money left for the rest of the team. (A video will be sent out to explain how the site does the auction but it is super simple and no math is required by you!) Any money left over after the draft is forfeited.
All bids will be done on the website in the Draft Room.
A draft order will be set only for the purposes to nominate a player. Whoever holds the first pick will nominate the first player and the draft will continue in a snake fashion (1-10, 10-1) until all teams have an 18 player roster. Once a team has a full roster, they will automatically be taken out of the draft order. The website will track all of this.
*Note: To speed up the draft and bids, any player nominated in the 1st round is a starting bid of $15, the 2nd round is a $10 starting bid and rounds 3-5 is a $5 starting bid. Rounds 6 and on is a $1 minimum. Any nominating owner can choose to start the bidding higher than the minimum.
If no other owner bids on a nominated player, the nominating owner automatically gets that player at their initial bid. An owner cannot lower their bid if no other owner bids.
Each owner will have 30 seconds to nominate a player. If no player is chosen, the website will automatically select the top ranked player on its board to start bidding. After a player has been nominated, a 20 second timer will start in which all teams can bid on a player. Any bid made within the last 15 seconds will automatically reset the bid clock to 15 seconds to allow owners to bid again.
Starting Lineup: Each team will start 9 players each week (1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex and 1 D). Each player is locked into or out of your lineup at the start of each individual player's game. If your player isn't playing until Monday night, you can put him in/out of the lineup until kickoff.
Free Agents: Each team will have a $100 free agent budget to use during the season. This is completely separate from the auction budget. All free agents will be a blind bid process that takes place every Thursday at 12:00pm and Saturday at 12:00pm. No free agents can be added after these two times. You can make contingencies on additional players to make sure you are not left with an open spot.
IR and COVID: A player can be placed onto the IR as long as they are designated by the NFL. 2 players can be on the IR. Once they are active, they need to be immediately taken off the IR and placed on the full roster.
Divisions & Playoffs: There will be ten teams in the league, comprised of two divisions. The divisions will be randomly selected. The winner of each division, plus the second place team will automatically qualify for the playoffs. In the event of a tie, total points from Week 1 through Week 14; will be the first tie breaker. The fifth and sixth teams qualifying for the playoffs will be the two teams with the most overall point from Weeks 1-14, regardless of division. The team with the most total points outside of the top two in the division will be the 5th seed and the next highest total points will be the 6th seed. The two division winners will have a bye for the first round of the playoffs. The playoffs will begin during week 15 of the NFL season. The Championship will coincide with Week 17 of the NFL season.
Pot Breakdown: $1,000 Total
Playoffs: Playoff Winner--$500
Playoff Runner-up--$200
Total Points: Team with most Points (Weeks 1-17): $200
Last 5 Weeks: Team with the most total points in weeks 13-17 only: $100
Trades: Trades are allowed and must be accepted by 12:00pm on Saturday to give a 24 notice for owners to vote so players can be used that week (assuming they play on Sunday or Monday). All owners will have a vote in the trade and 5 "No" votes or more will disallow the trade. (I can't imagine this being an issue with the good dudes in this league)! Any owner who does not vote will count as a "Yes" vote.
No traded players will be allowed as Keepers for the following year.
Keepers: At the end of the season, owners will have the option of keeping up to 2 players for the following year. Players kept will be their auction salary plus $10 (Example: Joe Burrow was auctioned at $75, so his cost the following year is $85, which will be deducted from his owner's budget before the draft starts.
No traded players or free agents acquisitions can be kept.
