Rules Time!

Are You Ready For Some Football League Rules

The league will consist of 12 teams on rtsports.com.  12 teams will play in 3 divisions of 4 teams each.  The League will Draft at a date set forth by League members.  All teams will play division opponents 2 times = 6 games; and outside of division once = 8 games during 14 regular season weeks.  Playoffs run Weeks 15-17.  The Top 8 make the playoffs. 

Fees: The cost of the franchise is $200 per team due in full by the day of the draft. This includes the cost of the web site and all franchise moves. No trades can be made once the season starts until both teams involved in the trade have paid the league fee in full.

$200 x 12 = $2,400 - cost of Site $100 = $2,300

PRIZE MONEY:

1st Place = $1,000  2nd Place = $450  3rd Place = $150  ($1,600)

NFL Pick 'em Pool $75 & $20 = $95

$75 (1st) & $50 (2nd) for the top 2 teams with the BEST RECORD regular season (weeks 1-14)  = $125
$20 per week for the TEAM OF THE WEEK HIGH SCORE (weeks 1-14) = $280
$50 for MOST TOTAL POINTS SCORED for the whole season = $50

$50 x 3 for each DIVISION WINNER = $150

DRAFT: The Draft Order will be determined in August by Random Draw. Draft reverses every round from 1-12 to 12-1. Each team will have 180 seconds to pick.  Starting in 2023, Draft position will be determined by order of finish from the previous year from last place to first place. If there are any teams that drop out, the expansion teams will drop to the bottom of the list. 1st round will be new teams, then all teams who do not keep a 1st round pick in order from last to first.  Draft reverses every round from 1-12 to 12-1 in each conference.

DIVISIONS WILL BE AS FOLLOWS for 2022:  Teams that Draft 1-4, 5-8 and 9-12 will be in the same division.   

ROSTERS: STARTERS: 1 QB'S, 2 RB'S, 3 WR'S, 1 TE'S, 1 K'S, 1 DEF TEAM,  2 FLEX (RB, WR, TE only) = 11 Starters 
RESERVES: 9 total reserves for a total of 20 players. 9 reserves will be drafted during the time of the draft. A team may only have 2 QB, 1 DEF and 1 K on reserve maximum. Other 5 reserves can be any combination of RBs, WRs, or TEs. If a team does not have a backup QB, K, or DEF.
on reserve, that team may use the extra spot on their roster to carry extra RB, WR or TEs.

PLAYOFFS: The best 8 teams according to record will make the playoffs beginning on week 15 and will last through week 17. SEEDING IS AWARDED by winning percentage, then total points. DIVISION WINNERS DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY GET SEEDS (1-3), AND THEY DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS FOR WINNING THEIR DIVISION. Each playoff round will re-seed, and the team with the highest seed will have the tiebreaker in case of a tie. First round (week 15) 1v8, 2v7, 3v6 $ 4v5. Second round (week 16) winners advance and re-seed. Third round (week 17) winners play for championship 1st and 2nd place, and the rest 3-4th place.

LINEUPS: Lineups must be set by the start of each players game. If there are games played on Thursday or Saturday, lineups can still be changed for the players who are yet to play on Sunday. Players who played on Thursday or Saturday will be frozen at the start of their game and cannot be switched in or out of the lineup. You may switch players in and out of your lineup who did not play yet in any given week until game time, example you can switch in or out of your lineup any player who is playing on Monday night football up until game time of that game.

TRADES: Trades will be allowed during the season and offseason. Trades can made using the site between teams in your same conference during the regular season.  The Trading Deadline will be Week 12.  Trades can resume between all teams once the season ends and throughout the offseason. Trade Voting System. All trades will be voted on by each team. An email will be sent to owners and the owner can vote on the site to allow the trade in a 24 hour time period. If the 24 hour period lapses, the owner will lose his vote. 7 rejection votes are needed to veto a trade. This will be done automatically by the website.

SALARY CAP: There will be a salary cap of $210. Teams cannot go over this amount any time during the season. Total team salary can be found under the rosters page. All teams start the year with the same salary. I/R players count towards cap.  *** This is mainly for keeper tracking.  

TIEBREAKERS: Tiebreaker for division winner is head to head,  winning percentage, division record, total points, conference record. Tiebreaker for out of division opponents is head to head, winning percentage, total points

The following rules will allow teams to keep their favorite players but also will assure the following years draft has really good players available at the draft! They are intended to reward teams for making good draft picks towards the end of the draft and to make it hard for teams to keep players from year to year.

KEEPER RULES: Players picked in each of the 20 rounds during the draft will be assigned a value from $1-20. Players picked in round 1 will be $20 players. Players picked in round 2 will be $19 players and so on until round 20 players are $1. Teams will be able to keep up to 5 players from the previous year but will give up 1 round ahead from where that player was picked the previous year.
EX. Team A wants to keep their 1st or 2nd round pick from the previous year in the following years draft, they will keep that player but their first round pick in the upcoming draft will be skipped over.
EX. Team A wants to keep their 20th round pick from the previous year in the following years draft, they will keep that player but their 19th round pick in the upcoming draft will be skipped over.
1.Teams can only keep either their 1st or 2nd round pick for the following year not both!
2.Players can only be kept for a maximum of 3 years then they become a free agent. The year each players contract runs out can now be seen under contract status.
3.Teams can move player values forward for all players if they have 2 of the same player values.
4.Players picked up as free agents during the course of the year who went undrafted may not be kept $0 value or contract that ends in 2023!
5.If a team drops out that teams players will all become free agents.
6.All new expansion teams will start off with a clean slate

ROOKIE DRAFT!

The day of the NFL rookie draft our league can have its own rookie draft starting in 2023! Each owner will pick an offensive rookie for 1 or 2 rounds with 8 hours given to make each selection. The order of the draft will be determined by previous years record. You will be notified by email and text.  It will not run between midnight and 8am.  You do not have to keep your selection.  If in August you no longer want them you can release them.  If kept it will not count towards your keepers but you will, loose a draft pick in late summer.  I will let you know the draft slot before the regular season Draft.  Rookies drafted with picks from 1-6 can be assigned values between $12-17 or higher, picks 7-12 between $9-14 or higher, picks 13-18 between $6-10 or higher, and picks 19-32 between $1-8 or higher.

If a trade is made between weeks 7 and 10 that the commissioner feels is a trade made for keepers the following year, the commissioner can require the team who received the keeper players to keep those players for 2023.

Free Agent Pickups:  Free Agents will be awarded on Tuesday through Saturday at 10PM through a tumble waiver order system. If a team picks up a free agent, they will move to last in line in the next waiver wire order and so on.

Contracts & Keepers

Each draft's players will receive individual contracts and dollar amounts. Keepers must be decided and emailed to me by August 11th before our draft.
