Stett's Fantasy Football League 2023 Rules
The 2023 draft will be TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 5 AT 8:00PM EASTERN, THAT IS 7:00 TEXAS, 6:00 MOUNTAIN.
You must be logged into the draft room at this time or you will be screwed.
Payment of $250 is due August 30, 2023, $10 goes to the website and processing fee. $150 goes into our champions pool as a starting fee. You will be left with $90 as your balance to pay for losses, drop/adds, and any personal wager losses you incur.
You will have a total of $580 exposed to lose. $150(entry fee) + $280(if you lose every game) +$150(3 of 5 game loss penalties) + the drop/adds incurred.
If you go on a five game losing streak you will be required to an additional $50. These funds will go towards your conferences slush fund.
Draft order, conference order, and team schedules will be released 24 hours before draft!
TIME: Mountain time is one hour BEHIND central and two hours BEHIND eastern!
TRASH TALK IS ALLOWED AND ENCOURAGED!!!!!
It is REQUIRED that every team use a team logo and name, if you cannot figure out how to do this email me a picture and I will do it for you. You cannot change your team name during the season. If you change your team name after the regular season begins you will be charged $20. This fee will be added to your conference’s slush fund.
You are however allowed to change your team logo.
The winner of the league will be awarded The Stett’s Fantasy Football League Traveling Trophy. Plus most of the money! The previous year’s Champion will be required to ship the trophy to the commissioner upon the conclusion of this season. In addition to this, the previous year's champ will get the last pick in their respective conference. The champion will also have the next year’s entry fee withheld.
Our league will be composed of 32 teams with four separate conferences of 8 teams. Each conference will have its own draft. It will be randomly selected which conference your team plays in. Each conference will have its own slush fund and payouts (described below).
You may request to have two or more teams to play and pay for two separate entry fees and participate in the draft. If you wish to do this please request it as early as possible. This will depend upon supply and demand.
The Commish will have the final say in all conflicts and rule disputes.
There are no trades allowed, only drop/adds.
Tie breaking scheme for overall ranking BEFORE the playoffs will be in this order:
1. Head to head record
2. Total points scored head to head.
3. Total points
4. Whoever was chosen lowest in the random draft order.
THE BITCH RULE: At the bottom of these rules the website automatically puts their tie-breaking scheme in. WE DO NOT USE THEIR RULE!!! We use the tie-breaking scheme described above! With that said if three or more teams are tied and two of those teams only played once, while they may have played the other team twice; then we will use the TOTAL POINTS for ranking.
When you start out you will have a $90 balance to go towards loss fees, drop/add fees, and wager losses. When that balance reaches a negative amount you will have one week from the beginning of the week’s drop/add period to pay or your team will be LOCKED OUT from drop/adds and lineup changes.
Be aware that official stats CAN change, even days after the games are complete. I will stick with whatever decision our website makes. If after Thursday at midnight eastern time, any stats that change that affects a win or loss, the Commish will overrule. Otherwise, stats will change as the NFL makes them.
SLUSH FUND
ALL of drop/add fees and draft foul monies go to a separate pot called the Slush Fund. The slush fund will be given to the teams with the 3 individual highest weekly totals (not including the playoffs). The commish will take 10% off the top of all drop/adds. The adding and dropping of players is very time consuming and is done daily. After that, highest score gets 60%, 2nd highest gets 30% and 3rd highest gets 10%. It is possible for one team to obtain all 3 payouts. It is also possible for all three high scores to come from one week. Each conference will have its own slush fund and drop/add fees will be figured from each individual conference.
DRAFT RULES
If any problems occur during the draft the Commish will decide how to handle the problem.
If you draft out of our league roster requirements, for example, drafting 3 defenses when you only have room for two, you will be punished.
1.You will be charged a $20 roster change fee for every foul. This money will go into the slush fund.
2. The day after the draft you will be contacted and forced to drop the player that fouled your roster and pick up a legal player.
3. The player that you dropped will be a free agent and your name will be moved to the bottom of the first weeks drop add list.
4. You will not be able to use the new player that you have picked up until week #2.
S-Style draft (1-2-3-4, 4-3-2-1, 1-2-3-4, etc.)
One team represents both defense and special teams.
The commish can pause the draft if needed.
You will have 3 minutes to make your draft selection.
If you do not make your pick within the 3 minute time period you will be skipped and then given an opportunity after the next draft selection.
The draft order and season schedule will be made 24 hours prior to the draft.
If you accidentally pick the wrong player there is nothing I can do, so be careful.
You will draft a total of 15 players in any order within the conditions of the roster composition listed below.
DROP/ADD RULES
If your team is $100 or more in the hole to the league, your drop/add will not be performed. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS. As we near the end of the season and you can prove that you will be receiving a payout, certain conditions will be considered. The bottom line is that it is your responsibility to keep your account current.
The first day of drop/adds are Monday's. On any given Monday in which the game or games are not finished before midnight mountain, the first day of drop/adding will begin on Tuesday.
Drop/Adds are $10 and the deadline is Friday at midnight mountain time.
No drop/adds after the last regular season game of our league.
BITCH RULE: If a drop/add is posted after midnight mountain time Friday that drop/add is still in effect and will go on Monday's business. You may erase that drop/add.
Starting Monday and ending on Friday at midnight Mountain time will be the time to do
your drop/adds. On weeks that there is a Thursday game; Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday will be the only days to perform a drop/add for players on teams that play on Thursdays. Drop/add period for weeks that there is a Thursday game, drop/adds for any players that are playing on Thursday must be made by Wednesday's deadline. The deadline for the rest of the week will stay the same. Daily drop/add deadline is midnight MOUNTAIN time!!! The waiver wire resets EVERY week.
Once a drop/add has been performed your name will be moved to the bottom of the waiver wire list for that week’s list.
I will make every effort to make drop/adds from Wednesdays business by 5:00 mountain Thursday. If there is an issue with this please contact the commish. (such as you not being around a computer to change your lineup)
The drop/add that you want made has to be submitted on the message board, for EVERYONE to see, at the rtsports.com website.
Please DO NOT use the hide option on the message board to delete a message. If you wish to remove a message simply use the edit option and then erase it that way. The reason for this rule is that it is when you hide and then
unhide a message the site does not list the time that the message was unhidden. This becomes VERY important during drop/ adds. If it is discovered that someone is using this option, please inform the commissioner and he will punish that team as he see fits.
The waiver wire will be made in case two teams want the same player on the same day.
The waiver wire list will be determined after week 1 is over (1st on the list will be the 0-1 team with the lowest point total, last on the list will be the 1-0 team with the highest point total.)
If the same player is wanted by two or more teams whoever is highest on the list will get the player.
After a drop-add is completed your name will go to the bottom of the list.
Every day I will TRY to post a message on the message board stating all drop/adds.
Once a drop/add is posted the player that is being dropped is not available for adding until the end of that day's business. (Midnight mountain).
When you make a drop/add you cannot go out of the limits of the roster composition (already listed).
FOR EXAMPLE: You cannot drop a kicker to have zero kickers to obtain a tight end. You must always have 1 or two kickers and the requirements of the other positions, as well.
STATE YOUR DROP/ADD as FOLLOWS:
1. Drop Marshall Faulk RB STL add Emmitt Smith RB ARI,
2. Drop A. Boldin WR ARZ, add R. Moss WR OAK. (This lets me know
which transaction you want first.)
It is imperative that you use the first initial and last name, followed by their team abbreviation.
DO NOT STATE AS:
Drop Marshall Faulk, Anquan Boldin, add Emmitt Smith, Randy Moss. (I don’t know which drop goes with which add – in case another team has already picked up one of the players.)
STARTING LINEUP RULES
Staring lineup has to be entered before the first game of the week starts. THE FIRST GAME OF THE YEAR IS ON THURSDAY!!!!! You will be able to change your lineup until the early games on Sunday. Once a player has played you will not be able to use or not to use them. I will use whatever guidelines that our website uses.
Each team will be required to enter its own lineup at rtsports.com website
9 players on each starting lineup
You will also be required to select a tie breaker player, it can be ANY one player on your 15 player roster.
COMPETITION RULE
If it is discovered that a team has fallen behind on keeping up their team on a weekly basis the commish may choose to make lineup changes. If that team simply has not been keeping up, has not made any changes, and has not visited the website, that team may have players that are on bye or injured and others that are available. The commish reserves the right to change that lineup in order to keep a high level of competition. If that team happens to be playing a team that the commish owns, that situation will be dealt with appropriately.
LOSSES
Each loss will cost $20.
$5 of this fee goes to the team that defeated you.
The other $15 goes towards the championship fund.
PLAYOFFS
Our regular season will conclude in week 14. Playoffs begin week 15.
There is NO loss fee in the playoffs. After final rankings have been determined the top two teams from each conference will advance to playoffs. We will rank these teams 1-8. The team with the best record being the 1 seed. If teams are tied we will use their total points to rank them. In the playoffs the best ranked team will play the lowest ranked team. (1 plays 8; 2 plays 7; etc) In playoff week 2 we will use the same scenario. (best plays worst). The losers of week 1 will be put into the Toilet Bowl. Winners advance to week 2. Week 2 losers play for third and fourth money. Week 2 winners play for the championship, the trophy, and the money!
TOILET BOWL
The toilet bowl starts playoff week 2. It is comprised of the losers of playoff week 1. The seedings will be determined by regular season record with tie breakers going to total points. The games will be played using the above playoff rules.
SHIT BOWL
The teams that ranked 3 and 4 in their conferences during the regular season will be put into the Shit Bowl. There will be no fee for these teams. Any other teams (other than those in playoffs) that would like to part of the Shit Bowl can compete. Teams that enter that were not ranked 3 or 4 will be required to pay $25 to enter. During the three weeks of playoffs these teams will compete for total points combined for these three weeks.
