2. Roster and Starters
A roster has a maximum of 37 (2023) players. The number of players at any one position is up to the owner’s discretion.
Minimum Starting lineups for offense (each position):
1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K
Maximum Starting lineups for offense (each position):
1 QB, 3 RB, 4 WR, 3 TE, 1 K

2 LB, 2 DB, 2 DL
Maximum Starting lineups for defense (each position):
3 LB, 3 DB, 3 DL
So there is one flex starter that can be a LB, DB, or DL. No more than 7 defensive players
Starters are selected by logging into the RTS website and checking the appropriate box. Errors by selecting improper starters will result in the elimination of the highest scoring starters for each position until a proper line up is set. Once a player’s game has started, that player is either locked as starting or not starting. Changes can be made to line up’s can be made until the Monday night kickoff (if you have two players in the game).
3. Injured Reserve:
IR positions have been eliminated (2023)
4. Free Agents and Wavier Wire System
When a player is cut he is added to a wavier wire. This holds the player for 24 hours such that all teams can see who has been made available.
Free for all period
5. Trades
Trades between two teams shall be done via the website trade system. If the trade consists of a draft pick those also will be done through the site. A trade consisting of 3 teams may be emailed to the commissioner (sonsword@verizon.net) or by submitting the trades via the website, breaking the trade down to 3 separate trades. Please note that emailed trades require confirmation between all owners and may delay the effective date of the trade. If the trade is made during the morning prior to kickoff, call or text the commissioner immediately if players involved are desired starters.
6. Divisions
Two divisions is established, For the first year it will be random and every 3rd year changed. Each team will play all the teams within its division twice and other teams randomly. (last reset 8/2022)
7. Schedule and Playoffs
A schedule has been made randomly by the RTS site of the teams in the league. The regular season will be a total of 14 games starting week 1 of the NFL season. The schedule is set such that a team will play all other teams at least once, and additional games within the division. The schedule will be set the day following the FFL draft.
Six teams will make the playoffs. The lowest ranking four teams will play in a wildcard game on week 14 with the 4th and 3rd place teams receiving a home field advantage of 0.4 pts per win. The winner of those games will play in the playoff week against the #1 and #2 seed, with the lowest remaining seed playing the #1 seed. Both the #1 and #2 seeds also will receive the home field advantage as described previously.
Once the teams are selected normal tiebreaker rules are applied to determine the rankings.
(Summary, based on an 18 week season)
Week 15 #6 vs #3, #5 vs #4
Week 16 #1 vs #4 or #3, #2 vs #6 or #5.
Week 17 Superbowl
Week 18 no games played
8. Scoring
A player can score in many ways. Please review the RTS website for current scoring parameters.
During the season RTS will make scoring corrections after games are completed. This may change outcomes of matchups and league standings up until the playoff games. During the playoffs (week15, 16, and 17) games are locked and matchups will be set on Sunday start (1:00 PM Week 15). No changes to starters are permitted after a players game has started regardless of matchup changes.
9. Tiebreakers and Game Unscheduled Early Endings
Tiebreakers (by overall win-loss) for playoff spots will be by (as listed on the RTS site). Scott will determine tiebreaker rankings at the end of each season. If an owner wishes to challenge the outcome contact Steve.
Games that end early for an unscheduled reason such as player injury, weather, or event and are not re-scheduled or continued are considered concluded. A game that is rescheduled/continued will continue scoring for that week. No changes to lineups are permitted. Note, a rescheduled game may have any previous points scrubbed by the RST site and not count towards the team's score.
10. Draft
Before the draft the league roster maximum will be set to 50 players to allow trades and drafted players to fit on team rosters. One hour prior to kickoff of the NFL season all rosters must be cut down to the maximum limits. Any team over the limit will have players randomly removed from their roster until they meet the limit. Players removed will be protected for 24 hours. The team owner may choose to regain rights to the these players but will need to pay the $2 pickup fee during the protected window. After that, they enter the FA market.
The draft will be held after the NFL draft and before the start of the NFL season. Each team will have one selection per each round based on the past years performance. The Superbowl winner will have the last selection, runner up second to last, the playoff teams will follow with the better record. The team with the worst regular season record will pick first.
The draft consists of two parts. The first 6 rounds will be set for picks to be made without a time limit (don't be a dick, be ready to make your picks). At the start of the 7th round (part 2) the draft will be paused and set to run automatically. Each pick will have 30 seconds to be made. Any players selected after this point will cost $2. If you do not want to make any selections then set your draft queue to "OFF" and your pick will be skipped.
Part 2 draft picks cannot be traded prior to the selection.
The draft will usually be held within 2 weeks of the NFL kickoff (weekend before the holiday). I will host any owners who wish to attend in person (not required).
Typical Draft Day Agenda for attendees:
11. Pay Outs
The Superbowl winner will collect 70% of the pot, the runner up will collect 30%. The pot consists of the 25$ league fee per team plus all 2$ pickups made during the season. The amounts are payable by the NFL Superbowl or once all fees have been collected, whichever happens last.
12. Expansion
In the event that the league wishes to expand the number of owners, a vote will be cast first for approval (majority rules). All expansions will result in a minimum number of cut players, determined by a consensus of the current owners. Any current team may throw in their entire team to be eligible to re-draft from the free agents. Once they have committed to this action and the FA draft seeds are determined (random) they can not back out. Any team owner(s) leaving the league with multiple new teams being added will have their entire team(s) thrown into the FA draft. The FA draft will take place prior to or after the rookie draft, dependent on the new owners and the current owners vote. Once the new owners are selected, trades may commence at any time.
If the league exceeds 10 teams, changes my be required in the maximum number of roster spots and starting lineup. This will be an entire league (new and old team owners) decision based on majority consensus.
The new teams will roll (or coin flip) for the FA draft positions. The FA draft order will be reversed in the rookie draft, these teams will select after the current team owners seeds. Any team owner(s) leaving the league will have their draft spots removed.
13. Transition of Team Owners
If a single team leaves the league and new owner will be found to replace them. The new owner will take the entire team and it’s draft spot. He will also be required to honor any trades made prior to the transition. Should another owner (or owners) wish it he may throw his team in and a supplemental draft take place. The draft order is randomly determined and is in snake format. The intent to opt into the supplemental draft is done blind and cannot be opted out of.
Note, once a team owner has made their intentions to leave the league known all trades are frozen. If this was to occur during the season, starters would be selected by highest season score (as shown on the site) active player for the remainder of the season.
14. Commissioner Authority
The commissioner(s) retain the right to remove owners as they deem fit for the integrity of the league. This will not require a vote by owners, but the commissioner(s) must agree and be able to explain the action with evidence of conduct that negatively impacted the spirit of this league.
The commissioner(s) retain the right to make rule changes, roster changes, and other changes as they deem fit for the integrity of the league. These actions would only be done in extreme circumstances as a lack of action would cause a negative impact to many other owners and league continuity.
