3FL RULES
- A pre-season rules meeting will take place each year. A two-thirds majority (7 yes votes)
will be needed for a rule change to occur.
- League fee is $50
- Starting lineup consists of 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB, WR, TE), 1 K, 1 D/ST
- Team expansion, if ever discussed, will be determined the same as any other rule
change. Will be put to a vote and two-thirds majority will be needed.
- No rule changes can be made, or voted upon, mid-season.
- 3FL supreme court will be established yearly, to handle all issues that arise mid-season.
This court will only be needed in the event that a rule is not clearly spelled out. If a
situation arises where the court is needed the 3 members will vote, majority decides.
Current committee consists of Mike Laidlaw- Commish, Spencer Marcola- Co-Commish,
and Joe Marcola- Former Commish and league creator.
- A master spreadsheet will be kept by the league commissioner, showing each owners
roster and which slot they are protected in.
- At the end of each season the players in your top 2 slots, along with the players in your
17 and 18 slots, will be dropped from your team and entered back into the pool of
available players to be drafted the following season.
- Each team must have eligible players at each position in order to field a full starting
lineup each and every week.
- Each team is allowed unlimited IR slots.
- Only players who are on the IR or PUP list on their actual NFL team are eligible
to be added to IR.
- Once players are added to the IR or PUP list on their NFL roster, they are
immediately eligible to be placed in your IR slot.
- Players can be put on, and taken off of IR at any time, as long as they are IR
eligible.
- Any player added for a player who is put on IR is unprotected. However, that
player can be dropped for a different player at any time, or traded.
- When the owner chooses to active the player off of IR, he must then drop his
replacement. Or he can choose to drop the player on IR, and keep the
replacement player, who will then be placed into the slot that was occupied by the
player on IR (Either player may be traded as well)
- Roster limit is 18 players.
- League will consist of one 10 team division, and not 2 separate divisions.
- Schedule will be randomly generated each year after the draft
- Dave Laidlaw has been given a lifetime ban
SCORING
- Passing TD’s 4 pts
- Rushing, Receiving, and D/ST TD’s 6 pts.

- 5 pts for any field goal 45 yards or longer.
- 1 pt for successful extra point
- Fake punt or field goals that result in a TD are not to be awarded to the D/ST, but will be
awarded to the individual players.
- Defensive shutout is worth 15 pts.
- 2-8 pts allowed is worth 5 pts.
- Any points scored against your team count against you. Whether it’s a pick 6
against the offense or a kick return TD is irrelevant. Total pts is all that matters.
- Every sack is worth 1 pt.
- Each turnover is worth 2 pts (Interception or fumble recovery)
- All D/ST TDs are worth 6 pts, regardless of distance.
- Safety is worth 2 pts.
DRAFT
- Only eligible NFL players may be drafted.
- There are no roster restrictions except that you must have players at each position, in
order to field a starting lineup before week 1 kicks off.
- You are able to draft players and place them in whichever slot you desire.
- If you own consecutive picks in the draft, you cannot drop a player, and then select him
with the next pick to improve his slotting on your roster.
- Draft order is determined by the final standings from the previous season.
- 1st pick goes to winner of the consolation playoff bracket
- 2nd pick goes to runner up of consolation playoff bracket
- 3rd pick goes to winner of 3rd/4th match in consolation playoff bracket
- 4th pick goes to loser or 3rd/4th match in consolation playoff bracket
- 5th pick goes to winner of 5th/6th match in playoff bracket
- 6th pick goes to loser of 5th/6th match in playoff bracket
- 7th/8th pick - There will be a match for 3rd/4th place in the league. Winner of this
match gets to decide between 3rd place money or the better draft pick. If the
winner takes the money they get the 8th pick. If they decide on the better pick
they will get the 7th pick. Loser of this match gets the other pick.
- 9th pick goes to league runner up, and loser of the championship match.
- 10th pick goes to the league Champion.
- At the conclusion of the draft cards will be drawn, at random, to establish the initial
tumbler order for the waiver wire.
- Players may be put on the IR during the draft, and players may be drafted to replace the
player on IR.
WAIVER WIRE & ADD/DROPS
- Waiver order is determined by the Tumbler system.
- Waiver Wire is closed from kickoff of the 1 o’clock games on Sunday until 7 am Tuesday
morning.
- Waiver Wire ends each week on Wednesday evenings at 9pm.
- You will have between 7am Tuesday morning and 9pm Wednesday evening to
make your waiver claims.
- Open Add/Drop starts Thursday morning at 8am.
- Players that are dropped are not eligible to be added until the following week, after they
have cleared waivers.
- If you have an open slot on your roster due to an uneven trade, the player added on the
waiver wire will automatically go into that open slot. Meaning you cannot drop anyone
until the open slots are filled.
- Waiver Wire runs through the entire regular season. Ending Week 13. Same week as the
trade deadline.
- There will be an open add/drop period, starting at the conclusion of the draft, and ending
at kickoff of the first game of Week 1.
- Teams are allowed to add an unlimited number of players per week.
- Cards will be randomly drawn at the conclusion of the draft each year to determine the
starting waiver order.
TRADES
- Trade deadline is, kickoff of the 1 o’clock games during Week 14.
- Trading re-opens immediately following the conclusion of the 3FL Super Bowl.
- Owners cannot trade draft picks farther than 2 years out.
- Players in your #1, #2, and #17 slots are not eligible to be traded.
- Once the trade deadline hits, the players in your #3 and #4 slots then become ineligible
to be traded.
- When a trade occurs, owners will be allowed to choose which open slots acquired
players will be placed.
SCHEDULE & WEEKLY MATCHES
- 3FL regular season consists of 14 weeks.
- Website will generate a random schedule each year after the draft.
- Weeks 15-17 will be the playoffs (see playoff rules below)
- Each weekly match is head to head.
- First tie breaker is total bench points
- Second tie breaker is Running Back points
- Third tie breaker is Quarterback points
- Standings are based upon, best win/loss record.
- First tie breaker is head to head
- Second tie breaker is total points
