By-Laws

Go Deep's (the League's) Bylaws are intended to supplement and clarify the League's "Rules" page found on the hosted website (RT Sports).  These Bylaws override rules written elsewhere within the "Rules" page or the site and supersede all previously written bylaws.

The Commissioner is responsible for interpreting these Bylaws and other rules as well as determining when the League owners/teams need to vote on an issue not previously contemplated or addressed.  The Commissioner is also expected to communicate rule additions/updates via at least one other method beyond updating these Bylaws.  Such methods may include email, text, group call, in-person, at the draft, etc.  Please note, rules may be created or amended and become effective prior to these Bylaws being updated.

Andy is the current Commissioner.

 

Cost to Play

  1. Annual fees = $150 per team ($1500 total)
    1. $100 is considered League Entry
    2. $50 is considered Other
  2. Transaction fees = the League utilizes a free agent auction budget (FAAB) to process waivers; any free agent added outside of the waiver process ("Free for All") costs owners $5 per transactions (REAL MONEY)

Payouts & Disbursements

Annual Dues

  1. League Entry payouts are based on the results of the post season playoffs as follows:
    1. 1st place = $500
    2. 2nd place = $300
    3. 3rd place = $200
  2. Other payouts and disbursements:
    1. Regular season weekly high scorers win $20 for each week 1 to 13 = $260
    2. Total points pot = $240 (see below)

All values added together totals $1500

Total Points

  1. The total points pot = $240 from the annual dues plus total transaction fees (see above)
    1. Website fee of approximately $80 is subtracted from the total points pot
  2. Payouts of the remaining total points pot (after site fee is paid, if any) are made to the two teams that scored the most points during the regular season (per the site) as follows:
    1. 1st = 60%
    2. 2nd = 40%

Tiebreakers

  • Tiebreakers to advance into the playoffs and subsequent seeding are:
  1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the teams).
  2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
  3. Total Points
  4. Total Points in games played against each other
  5. Coin Toss
  • Tiebreakers in playoffs are higher seeds.
  • Tiebreakers for Super Bowl and/or 3rd place is the player with higher total points for the regular season (weeks 1-13)

Other

  1. Auction money cannot be exchanged or traded, ever
  2. Auction nomination order is reset each year
  3. Divisional assignments are reset each year
  4. (New in 2021) The playoffs schedule has been adjusted to accommodate the expanded 18 week NFL schedule so that the League's championship games take place during weeks 16-17.  To be clear:
    1. Regular season = weeks 1-13
    2. Post season = weeks 14-17
      1. Round 1 = week 14
      2. Round 2 = week 15
      3. Round 3 = weeks 16-17 combined
        1. REMINDER - NFL's bye weeks may occur during the League's post season
  5. (NEW in 2020) All trades are expected to be fair.  Suspect trades are determined by the Commissioner.  Each team owner is responsible for notifying the Commissioner if they feel a trade is unfair.  If Andy is included in trade, then the remaining eight managers vote with Rodney (prior commissioner) breaking any tie.  If Andy & Rodney are trading, Steve breaks any tie.
  6. (Wording updated in 2022) Keepers are eligible to be kept for up to 2 successive years after the player was "drafted" for 150% of the prior year auction amount, making the player a keeper for a total of 3 years (including the first year obtained); Keepers may be traded per normal trade process; Keepers' total years are based on original year "drafted"; to be eligible for keeper status, the player must remain on a roster the entire year, including playoffs; in other words, players claimed off of waivers or free agency and/or dropped are not eligible to be Keepers the next season
    1. (Wording added in 2022) Examples:
      1. Owner A "drafts" Player Y in the 2021 auction for $1; Player Y remains on Owner A's team the entire year, Owner A may keep Player Y for $3 auction dollars in 2022; Owner A keeps Player Y on roster for all of 2022 and then Owner A may keep Player Y for $5 in 2023; Player Y is not eligible to be a Keeper in 2024
      2. Owner A "drafts" Player Y in the 2021 auction for $2; Player Y is traded to Owner B mid-season and then remains on Owner B's team the rest of the year, Owner B may keep Player Y for $3 auction dollars in 2022; Owner B keeps Player Y on roster for all of 2022 and then Owner B may keep Player Y for $5 in 2023; Player Y is not eligible to be a Keeper in 2024
      3. Owner A "drafts" Player Y in the 2021 auction for $5; Player Y is traded to Owner B mid-season and then remains on Owner B's team the rest 2021, Owner B may keep Player Y for $8 auction dollars in 2022; Owner B keeps Player Y for $8 ahead of the 2022 auction, but  later drops Player Y during the year (regular season or post season); Player Y is not eligible to be a Keeper in 2023
  7. (Wording updated in 2022) Waivers & Unrestricted Free Agents:
    1. Waiver process generally begins with week 1 (i.e., the week of the first NFL regular season game)
      1. Exception - if the auction draft takes place after the Tuesday before the first regular season game and it isn't practical/possible for week 1 waivers, then waivers shall begin with week 2; however, depending on the timing of the auction draft, unrestricted free agents may be acquired as normal during week 1
    2. Waiver process during the playoffs is only for active teams still "alive", which includes teams with first round byes and those playing for 3rd place; eliminated teams can no longer participate in waivers and will have their FAAB adjusted to zero
    3. FAAB waiver budget cannot be exchanged or traded, ever
  8. (NEW for 2020 ONLY) COVID RULES: DELETED 12/5/22
  9. (NEW for 2022 ONLY) "Diggs Rule" (i.e. currently not applicable during 2023 season or later): Player X (Stefon Diggs in 2022) shall be a weekly free agent per Waivers & Unrestricted Free Agents section above and subsequently released after each week; current owner shall do their best to drop Player X promptly after the week (Commissioner or those with commissioner rights have the right to perform the drop on behalf of the prior week owner); includes playoffs
