League Setup
8 teams
2 divisions of 4 teams each
15 regular season weeks
2 playoff weeks
$200 entry fee
Draft
Rounds 1 - 8 | 1.5 minutes |
10 minute break | |
Rounds 10 - 16 | 1 minutes |
The draft date will be August 31st at 3pm PST/6pm EST. Expect the draft to be about 2 hours.
NOTE: It's up to you to find out before the draft (as well as during the season) as to what players are injured, not signed, benched, etc . . . The best sources for news are things like the USA today on Friday, the local newspaper (injury report listed Thursday, Friday and Saturday), Pro Football Weekly, the Internet, etc.
Scoring
Passing TD = 3 points
Rushing/Receiving TD = 6 points
Punt/Kickoff return TD = zero points - only counts on Defensive/Special Teams
Passing Yards = 1 point for every 20 yards
Rushing/Receiving Yards = 1 point for every 10 yards
Field Goal:
1-30 yards = 3 points
31-40 yards = 4 points
41-50 yards = 5 points
51+ = 6 points
Extra Point = 1 point
Two-Point Conversion:
Run/Catch = 2 points
Pass = 1 point
Defense/Special teams:
Interception TD = 5 points
Fumble Recovery TD = 5 points
Safety = 2 points
Blocked punt TD = 6 points
Kick-off/Punt return TD = 6 points
Interception = 1 point
Sack = 0.5 points
Fumble recovery = 1 point
Shutout = 6 points
1-9 points allowed = 2 points
Please note that players will get points if they score out of position (i.e. if Troy Aikman catches a TD pass, he will get 6 points for the TD, and points for whatever receiving yardage he had.)
Scoring is carried out to two decimal places. If a player has negative yardage, he is given zero points. For example, if a player gets -2 rushing yards, and 35 receiving yards, he will get zero fantasy points for the rushing yards, and 3.5 points for the receiving yards, meaning he gets a total of 3.5 points.
The NFL's official statistical service, the Elias Sports Bureau, routinely makes stat changes in the days or even weeks following games. Also, Elias does not usually publish the stat changes. So, we consider that stats as of Monday night the official stats. Otherwise, we would be frequently going back and changing the fantasy points for players, and possible frequently changing the outcome of games.
Starting Lineup
1 Quarterback (QB)
2 Running Backs (RB)
2 Wide Receivers (WR)
1 Tight End (TE)
1 Kicker (K)
1 Team Defense/Special teams (DT)
1 Flex (RB/WR/TE)
TOTAL: 9
Roster
Team owners must maintain 18 players on their roster. You will draft 16 players, so for your first two free agent pickups you don't need to drop a player. If there is an unequal trade (i.e. 2 players for one), one team must drop a player and the other one must pick up a free agent.
Lineups
For regular weeks (all games on Sunday and Monday), lineups are due at 11pm EST on Monday night. This means you can alter your lineup for Sunday afternoon games and later (once a players game has kicked off, that player is locked). The lineups must be entered via the website. If you do not enter a lineup, the lineup you had for the previous week will be used. It is strongly recommended to enter your lineup early (i.e. Tuesday or Wednesday) and make modifications later in the week to your lineup. This will prevent from having a previous weeks lineup used if you forget to put in your lineup late in the week (or don't have access to a computer late in the week)
For non-regular weeks (weeks when games are played on Thursday, Friday or Saturday), owners have until kickoff of the early game to start or bench a player who is in the early game. After kickoff, that player is locked and he can't be benched or started
Fees
$200 per team (Due on draft day)
$5 per free agent pickup (minimum)
$5 each owner per trade
Free Agents
Free Agents can be picked up throughout the NFL season, including the NFL playoffs. The first time pickups can be made will be the Wednesday before the first weekend of NFL games (and each Wednesday after that). There is no limit to the amount of free agents you can pick up each week or for the year.
Free Agents are picked up via blind bidding.
You must bring $200 entry fee to the draft PLUS your free agent money. No free agent may be bid upon unless your money was paid to the commissioner prior to the selection. I suggest bringing $25 in free agent money to the draft. Once that money is depleted, you CANNOT bid on any free agents until the commissioner has received more money. If you choose not to bring free agent money to the draft, you will be ineligible to bid on free agents.
Schedule
Fantasy teams play head-to-head, with the team with the most points for the week getting the win.
NFL Week | Fantasy Week |
1-14 | Team vs Team |
15 | Matchups based on record |
16 | Playoffs |
17 | Fantasy Bowl |
18 | No games |
Each team will play all the other teams twice.
For week 15, the matchups will be based on your overall record (best record is 1, worst is 10). If there are teams with the same record, the tiebreaker will be the head-to-head record. If the head-to-head records are the same, the next tiebreaker will be the team with the most total points for the season.
Week 15 matchups:
1 vs 2
3 vs 4
5 vs 6
7 vs 8
9 vs 10
Before the draft, you will receive a draft number, which corresponds to when you will pick. From the draft number, you will be given a team number, which corresponds to which division you will play in.

2 | 5 |
3 | 2 |

Playoffs
Fantasy Bowl:
The top team in each division reaches the playoffs (regardless of record). The next two best records reach playoffs as wildcards (regardless of division). The wildcard with the worst record plays the division winner with the best record and the other two teams play each other. If there are teams with the same record for the top team in the division, the tiebreaker will be the head-to-head record against all the other teams that are tied for the division. If the head-to-head records are the same, the next tiebreaker will be the team with the most total points for the season. If there are teams with the same record for the wildcard, the tiebreaker will be the head-to-head record against all the other teams that are tied for the wildcard. If the head-to-head records are the same, the next tiebreaker will be the team with the most total points for the season. In the rare event of a tie in the playoffs, the tie-breaker will be the team with the most TD's, followed by the team with the player with the highest point total.
Consolation Game:
The two owners that lose in the first round of the playoffs will play each other, with the winner getting more money.
Toilet Bowl:
The fifth to eight place finishers based on overall records participate in the Toilet Bowl. The best record plays the worst record, with the other two teams playing each other. If there are teams with the same record, the tiebreaker will be the head-to-head record against all the other teams that are tied. If the head-to-head records are the same, the next tiebreaker will be the team with the most total points for the season.
Reports
The reports will be available on our leagues web site.
Trades
Trades are $5 each owner per trade, no matter how many players are traded.
The Trade deadline is the Sunday of week 9.
Following week 9, your roster may only be altered to sign free agents.
Note that the commissioner has final approval on all trades and free agent pickups. This is done to make sure we have nobody cheating by conspiring with another owner.
Money Distribution
Money received:
$2000 entry fees plus Free agent/trade money
Money winnings:
$300 Weekly high score ($20 x 15 weeks)
$240 High score at each of the six position = $40 each position
Fantasy Bowl:
$630 + 55% of FA/Trade money Fantasy bowl winner
$270 + 25% of FA/Trade money Fantasy bowl loser
$180 + 10% of FA/Trade money First round playoff loser/Winner consolation game
$150 + 10% of FA/Trade money First round playoff loser/Loser consolation game
Toilet Bowl:
$150 Toilet bowl winner
$100 Toilet bowl loser
Commissioner Fees:
I get paid nothing for all the work I do. I do it out of the kindness of my heart. All I ask is that the Fantasy Bowl winner give me a 12-pack of beer when he comes knocking at my door to collect his winnings.
Trophy
The Fantasy bowl winner will receive a beautiful, large, and expensive trophy to stare at until the next fantasy bowl winner comes along. The trophy contains all the previous winners' names, and each winner must get a plate on the trophy engraved with his name and year. When a new fantasy bowl winner is crowned, the previous winner (provided it is not the same winner), must hand over the trophy during the next seasons draft in a ceremony that would make even the toughest man cry. But the bad news for the fantasy bowl winner is that he must determine were the location that the draft will be held next season.
NFL Playoffs Fantasy Tournament
For those of you wishing to participate, there will be a fantasy tournament during the NFL Playoffs. Every owner will pick a lineup each week. You can pick any player, which means each owner can have the same NFL players in their lineup. Each week you must pick a lineup using the remaining players in the NFL playoffs. Your fantasy points for each playoff week are calculated, and the owner with the highest point total for all playoff weeks combined will be the winner. There is no head-to-head competition. Each owner must pay $20 to join, with the winner taking it all.
