MFL By-Laws

  • League entry fee of $60 is due at the draft. Any team that does not pay entry fee at the draft will be locked out of making any pickups/drops until $60 is paid. A second collection round will happen at the conclusion of week 10. All outstanding transaction fees due will need to be paid by the conclusion of week 10. Teams with fees left unpaid at the beginning of week 11 will be locked out of making transactions until their fees are paid. The remaining transaction fees that are due will need to be paid by the end of week 15 by non-playoff teams.

 

  • The month leading up to the draft will be used to discuss any proposed rule changes for the upcoming season. Let the Commish know if there is a rule change that you would like to propose. The proposed rule change will be posted as a poll on the league's home page. A simple majority (7 votes) is needed to pass a proposed rule change.

 

  • The MFL Draft will be held on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend at 2pm. If you are not able to make it to the draft, you will need to draft by phone, live online draft room or send someone as a replacement to draft for you.

 

  • The MFL Draft order will be pulled 3-4 weeks prior to the draft. The order will be pulled randomly by a non-league member with at least 4 league members present to witness.

 

  • Divisions are re-aligned each season. The regular season standings from the previous year will be used to determine the new Division alignment. The #1 overall team from last year go in East, #2 overall team in West, #3 overall team in North, #4 overall team in East, #5 overall team in West, #6 overall team in North and so on.

 

  • Transactions will be locked at the end of each football week for a "Waiver Wire" period. League members are able to put in their Waiver claims anytime after MNF up until 11:50pm on Tuesday of that week. Waivers will officially run at 12:00am on Wednesday. 3 Rounds of Waivers will run every week on Wednesday, so each team can claim up to 3 players. Waiver claims are $5 per transaction just as all free-agent moves are. at 4am on Wednesday of each week, all Free Agent Transaction will be open for the remainder of the week prior to the games kicking off. You will still be able to pick up players that have yet to play throughout the weekend of games. Once a player's game has started, they will have to be obtained through the Waiver Wire until Tuesday at 11:59pm. The initial waiver order will be based on points scored in week 1. After that, once you make a waiver claim, you automatically move to the back of the line for the next round of claims, and so on.

 

  • Trades must be processed by the Commish. Utilize email, real-time chat as well as the message board to facilitate a trade with another owner, and when both sides approve of the deal, the Commish will process and finalize. Draft picks can not be traded. The MFL's trade deadline is at the conclusion of Week 9's games. There is a $5 fee per team when a trade in finalized.
  • Any team that has a player in their final lineup for the week who is on a Bye or on Injured Reserve will be fined a $10 fee that will be added to their total due for the season

 

  • Starting lineups can be adjusted throughout the weekend. You can adjust your starting lineup up until 5 minutes prior to early games, late games, as well as Monday night games, provided you have at least two players that have yet to play to move from starter to bench, etc.

    • 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE)
    • 1 Kicker
    • 1 Defense/Special Teams
      • The MFL uses TEAM D/ST's. No individual players that are on your team will score or lose points based on Defense or Special Teams plays
    • Starting Lineups will include the following

 

  • The MFL regular season will be 13 weeks. Playoffs will be held in weeks 14, 15 & 16.

 

  • The 3 division winners along with 3 wild cards will make the playoffs each season. The #6 seed (Wild Card) will play the #3 seed and the #4 seed will play the #5 seed. The #1 and #2 seeds receive a bye the first week of the playoffs (Week 14). #1 seed will play the winner of the #4/#5 matchup and the #2 seed will play the winner of the #3/#6 matchup in semi-finals.

 

  • Standings tie breakers are as follows:
    • Overall Winning %
    • Head to Head Record (2 teams only)
    • Division Record (If two teams tie, all teams move to points scored tie-breaker)
    • Points Scored

 

  • The two losing playoff teams in the semi-finals (week 15) will win $100 each. The remaining money in the pot (All other entry fees and transaction fees) will be split among the MFL Champion and Runner-Up. The split will be 70% to the champ and 30% to the runner up.
