Official Rules of the 101 Beer Club Fantasy Football League
League Setup
The League shall consist of 16 teams, divided into 2 divisions: The Ale and Lager.
Divisions picked randomly before the season begins.
The season will consist of 14 games randomly chosen.
The regular season ends Week 14. The playoffs begin Week 15 and the Sammy Bowl Championship will be Week 17.
League Traditions
The two GMs playing in the Sammy Bowl shall make every effort to meet at a mutually agreed upon location to watch the games. Every GM is encouraged to attend. The current League champion should make every effort to attend and bring the Sammy Bowl.
The Toilet Bowl champion is required to drink one six pack in one hour; either before the draft or once the draft begins. Failure to do so will result in disgrace, shame, and mockery; Respect the League!
The previous year’s Toilet Bowl champion will provide the six-pack. The current record is 9 minutes & 40 seconds by Skull Crushers GM Brew (2024).
League trophies (The Sammy Bowl, Shark Award, & Toilet Bowl) are to be respected and handled with care. Any damage done to trophies by a GM resulting in repair/replacement costs will be borne by that careless, thoughtless GM (The Mulligan Rule).
The Commissioner
The Commissioner is responsible for the overall running of the League. Responsibilities include:
Setting up the League online, setting up the weekly schedule, organizing the date & location for the draft, tracking each team’s roster and salary cap space at the draft, collecting and disbursing all League fees & payouts, processing trades, keeping accurate accounting of waiver and transaction fees, enforcing League rules, handling disputes, etc.
If there is a question regarding the interpretation of a rule, a disagreement between teams, or any other decision affecting the League, the Commissioner has the power to act in the best interest of the League.
Special Assistant Commissioner Bill Keller has access to all League Commissioner functions and will act as Commissioner in the absence of the Commissioner.
Owners
Owners are limited to one team. Current owners may not be a co-GM for any other team.
In the event an owner is unable to manage his team, the Commissioner will take over for the remainder of the season.
The Commissioner will only make changes in the weekly lineup.
No trades made by the Commissioner.
Drop-add done only to fill in lineup deficiencies due to bye week(s) or injury.
The Commissioner will not bid on any players. Players added after online bidding has taken place.
Fees
League entry fee is $200.
The cost of the League website divided among the 16 teams.
The transaction salary cap is $500 (not collected).
All trades and drop-add moves are transactions.
Teams will be charged $1.00 each per transaction, regardless of the number of players involved.
Once a team reaches $499.10 in transaction fees, no additional transactions permitted.
Teams cannot absorb, share, or trade transaction fees with another team.
The fee for engraving all League trophies is the responsibility of each seasons winning GM.
Payouts
The Sammy Bowl Champion will receive $1800.00.
The Sammy Bowl runner-up will receive $1000.00.
Division winners will receive $200 each.
The Draft
The Draft will take place on the Sat one week before Labor Day Weekend.
Changing the Draft date requires 12 yes votes by GM’s.
The draft cap is $20.00.
The minimum bid is $.10. The maximum bid is $20 (or remaining cap balance).
GMs may bid any amount provided they have sufficient salary cap funds.
Once a GM drops out of the bidding, he may not resume bidding on that player.
GMs may no longer bid once they exhaust their $20.00 cap or fill all twenty-roster spots.
There is no trading during the draft.
The Draft will be conducted auction style.
The Sammy Bowl champion will begin the draft with an opening bid on any player.
The bidding will be from the champions left and continue around the room.
GMs are responsible for running the bidding for each player they bring up.
If a GM bids more money than they have available, that GM can no longer bid, and the bid goes back to the GM with the last high bid.
Owners must draft a complete starting lineup.
The Commissioner will keep a record of each team’s roster and salary cap during the draft.
Rosters
Each team has 20 roster spots available.
Players may be placed on the Covid injured reserve once that player is designated “Out Covid” on the official NFL injury report
