Injury Status: Week 11

Well, we said last week that the injury news was on the upswing. That was short lived, right? The report is pretty full this week with several new players making an appearance. Let’s hope this isn’t a trend for the rest of the season. Here is the latest. . . .

Jerry Jeudy, WR, Broncos. There was thought that Jeudy suffered a major ankle injury last week, but he seems to have avoided some too serious. He is being considered day-to-day and could even play this week. He is not being ruled out. Consider him a game-time decision for now, but we might get a little more info on his status before the week is out.

PJ Walker, QB, Panthers. Walker has already been ruled out for Week 11 because of an ankle injury. Baker Mayfield has been named the starter. He could keep the job if he plays well. Sam Darnold will be the top backup for the first time this season for the Panthers.

Kyler Murray, QB, Cardinals. Murray missed the game last week because of a hamstring injury and there is talk he could sit out another week to get him back to full strength. Colt McCoy is hurting as well, though, which is a concern. McCoy has a knee injury and is iffy top lay. The Cardinals won’t rush Murray back until he is healthy. At this point, we think McCoy gets another starter as long as he is healthy enough to play, but it is up in the air at the moment.

Josh Allen, QB, Bills. Allen was up in the air all last week to play but started and looked pretty healthy in the game. He might have missed on a few throws he normally makes, but not many. If you had apprehensions about using him, we would feel pretty good about playing him going forward. He posted good numbers and helped fantasy teams last week.

DJ Chark, WR, Lions. Chark was designated to return from Injured Reserve on Wednesday. He practices for the first time in a long time, trying to return from his ankle injury. He has a chance to suit up and play Week 11. He’ll be a risk to use for fantasy teams if he plays, having missed so much time, but could be a factor once he gets up to speed in the offense.

Dallas Goedert, TE, Eagles. Goedert was placed on Injured Reserve because of a shoulder injury suffered in Week 10. He is going to miss at least the next four weeks of action. Jack Stoll should get first shot to start for the Eagles while Goedert is out. He could have some value to fantasy teams in a starting role.

Corey Davis, WR, Jets. Davis still is not practicing because of a knee injury. He has missed the last few weeks of action because of the injury. The Jets aren’t ruling Davis out just yet, though, and say he has a chance to play. He will be a risk if he plays for fantasy owners in his first game back in a few weeks.

JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Chiefs. Smith-Schuster took a huge hit last week and is in the concussion protocol. He will need to be cleared in the next few days if he hopes to want to play Week 11. We should have a better idea before the week is out. He took a huge hit in the game, so it wouldn’t surprise to see him miss at least a week of action.

Gus Edwards, RB, Ravens. Edwards is expected to return to action this week after missing the Week 9 game with a hamstring injury. He is already practicing to start the week. Kenyan Drake is likely to split the work with Edwards at running back in Week 11.

Mark Andrews, TE, Ravens. Andrews didn’t play the Ravens last game because of knee and shoulder injuries. He had the bye to help with the injuries, though, and opened the week with a limited practice. He should be able to make his return to the lineup this week, barring a setback later in the week.

Marquise Brown, WR, Cardinals. Brown has been designated to return from Injured Reserve on Wednesday, meaning he could be activated to play this week. His foot injury is on the mend. Brown is still up in the air to play but has a chance to make his return. He is making good progress from his injury.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Rams. Stafford is practicing in full this week. He is expected to return from his concussion and start the Week 11 game. This should be a big boost for an offense that really struggled last week and will be without Cooper Kupp.

David Njoku, TE, Browns. Njoku remains out of practice because of his ankle injury. He needs to get back on the practice field if he ever hopes to play again. He has really been slow to heal from this injury. We would expect him to miss another week of action at this rate.

Justin Jefferson, WR, Vikings. Jefferson has popped up on the Injury Report for the first team. He is dealing with some sort of toe injury, which has limited him in practice to start the week. This is an injury to watch, but it shouldn’t be serious enough for him to miss the Week 11 game. We expect him to play, barring some late-week setback with the injury.

Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Cowboys. Elliott has missed the last two games with a knee injury. He is practicing again on a limited basis this week, but did that last week and missed the game. He is up in the air to play once again in Week 11. We wouldn’t rule him out, though. He was close to playing last week.

Davante Adams, WR, Raiders. Adams is dealing with some sort of abdomen injury. This is a new one, but he was able to practice on a limited basis Wednesday. He should be good to go this weekend. Las Vegas is likely taking it cautious with their star receiver. Keep an eye on the practice reports to be safe, though.

Keenan Allen, WR, Chargers. Allen is back practicing on a limited basis this week. This is a step forward as he tries to return from his hamstring injury. He has a real shot to return this week. Consider him a game-time decision for the Week 11 game, but you will want him in your lineup if he plays.

Mike Williams, WR, Chargers. Williams has returned to practice this week, getting in limited work on his ankle injury. This is a good sign for Williams. He is trending towards a return. If he keeps progressing and doesn’t have any setbacks, look for Williams to play Week 11.

Mecole Hardman, WR, Chiefs. Hardman is dealing with an abdomen injury and has been unable to practice to start the week. It is not looking good for Hardman to play this week. We would get other options ready. Kadarius Toney should have a bigger role in the passing game for the Chiefs in Week 11.

Cole Kmet, TE, Bears. Kmet is red hot right now but is also dealing with a thigh injury. He is out of practice to start the week, which is not good news. The Bears aren’t revealing much about the injury, so keep an eye on the practice reports for the latest. We wouldn’t rule him out just yet but get other options ready.
