Cowboys LB Micah Parsons (illness) misses practice

Tue Nov 28 3:50pm ET
Field Level Media

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons missed Tuesday's practice due to illness ahead of the Thursday night matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

Parsons and defensive end Dante Fowler were both listed on the injury report as "DNP" due to illness.

Television cameras caught Parsons vomiting twice on the sideline during the Thanksgiving Day win over the Washington Commanders, but Parsons said that was due to ingesting energy and hydration powder before the game.

"I got some water to help put it down. By the fifth play it felt like my heart was gonna jump outta my chest. I felt like I was about to explode. I'm never doing that (stuff) again," the 24-year-old said postgame.

Parsons has 11.5 sacks to lead the Cowboys and ranks first in the NFL with 71 pressures, according to Pro Football Focus. He was a first-team All-Pro in each of his first two NFL seasons.

Waiver Wire Adds: Week 13

Jason Pierre-Paul Nov 29 12:30am ET
Jason Pierre-Paul

The Miami Dolphins have signed defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul off the New Orleans Saints practice squad. Pierre-Paul, who signed with the Saints on Nov. 13, will be heading to Miami following the season-ending injury to outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips. The 34-year-old played in his first game of the season in Week 12, totaling two tackles on 17 snaps against the Atlanta Falcons. Pierre-Paul will bring extra depth to Miami's defensive line and a veteran presence for the remainder of the year. In IDP leagues, he likely won't see enough playing time to warrant an add, even in deeper formats.

Emmanuel Ogbah

Miami Dolphins linebacker Jaelan Phillips (Achilles) was officially placed on the injured reserve list on Tuesday. Phillips suffered a non-contact injury in the Dolphins' 34-13 win over the New York Jets last week, which turned out to be a torn Achilles for the young defensive star. Before the season-ending injury, the 24-year-old was on his way to a career year. He had 6.5 sacks, 43 tackles (seven for loss), and 11 quarterback hits in just eight games this season. With Phillips now out for the year, Emmanuel Ogbah is likely to see more snaps for Miami's defense.

Austin Seibert Nov 28 9:50pm ET
Austin Seibert

The New Orleans Saints signed veteran kicker Austin Seibert to their practice squad on Tuesday after Blake Grupe injured his groin during practice earlier in the day. Seibert appeared in one game for the New York Jets this season and has previously kicked for the Detroit Lions, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cleveland Browns. For now, the team is calling Grupe's injury minor but Seibert could get elevated from the practice squad for his team's Week 13 game against the Lions if Grupe isn't able to play through the groin issue.

D'Wayne Eskridge Nov 28 9:40pm ET
D'Wayne Eskridge

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Dee Eskridge (ribs) missed practice on Tuesday ahead of his team's Thursday night matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Eskridge was limited on Monday and his downgrade on Tuesday isn't a great sign as to his availability heading into Thursday night, although it's possible that the Seahawks are just taking it easy on their kick returner. Eskridge's practice status on Wednesday will be a good indication of his status for Week 13 so stay tuned.

Blake Grupe Nov 28 9:40pm ET
Blake Grupe

New Orleans Saints kicker Blake Grupe injured his groin during practice on Tuesday and is now listed as questionable for a Week 13 matchup against the Detroit Lions. The injury is being called minor and Grupe still has a chance to play Sunday according to reports, but the Saints still worked out several kickers on Tuesday. That list includes Mason Crosby and James McCourt. New Orleans also signed veteran kicker Austin Seibert to their practice squad. Grupe's ability to get back on the practice field by Friday will be a good indication of his status heading into Week 13. Fantasy gamers rostering Grupe will want to begin thinking about having a backup plan in place in case he doesn't kick on Sunday.

Peyton Hendershot Nov 28 9:30pm ET
Peyton Hendershot

Dallas Cowboys tight end Peyton Hendershot (ankle) practiced fully on Tuesday ahead of his team's Thursday game against the Seattle Seahawks. Hendershot was designated to return from injured reserve a few weeks back and looks likely to make his return to the field after having not played since Week 3. Hendershot's return to action will likely cut into rookie Luke Schoonmaker's opportunities slightly.

Will Dissly Nov 28 9:30pm ET
Will Dissly

Seattle Seahawks tight end Will Dissly (hip) was upgraded to a limited practice on Tuesday after he didn't practice on Monday. The veteran tight end injured his hip during his team's loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Thanksgiving but he's trending in the right direction ahead of a Week 13 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night. Dissly's ability to practice again on Wednesday will be a good sign as to his status heading into Thursday night.

Zack Moss Nov 28 9:20pm ET
Zack Moss

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss stands to benefit from Jonathan Taylor's thumb injury starting in Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans. Taylor will have thumb surgery on Wednesday and is expected to miss at least 2-to-3 weeks. Moss filled in nicely during the early portion of the season while Taylor was on the PUP list while recovering from ankle surgery. If he's available, fantasy managers should make picking Moss up off of waivers this week a priority in all formats.

Micah Parsons Nov 28 7:00pm ET
Micah Parsons

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons (illness) was added to the Week 13 injury report on Tuesday after he was unable to practice due to an illness. The Cowboys play on Thursday night for the second straight week against the Seattle Seahawks. We'll keep a close eye on Parsons' status for this week's game, but he's likely to suit up. The 24-year-old former Defensive Rookie of the Year continues to be a disruptive pass-rushing force in his third NFL season, as he currently has 11.5 sacks, 40 tackles (22 solo), 13 tackles for loss, 23 QB hits, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery through 11 games. The two-time All-Pro is a must-start in all IDP fantasy leagues if he's active. Check back on Wednesday to see if he's cleared from the final injury report for Thursday's game.

Will Grier Nov 28 7:00pm ET
Will Grier

The New England Patriots re-signed quarterback Will Grier to their practice squad on Tuesday after they released him this past weekend. It was a bit odd that the Patriots waived Grier from the QB room with Mac Jones being benched yet again in the Week 12 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. The Patriots didn't even really announce a starter in the lead-up to the Week 12 contest coming out of their bye. After another multi-interception performance and benching after halftime, it would be a surprise if Jones made the starter over Bailey Zappe in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The 28-year-old Grier hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2019, but if things continue to get worse at the position for New England, we could see him in there before the end of the year.

Rico Dowdle Nov 28 6:50pm ET
Rico Dowdle

Dallas Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle (ankle) was listed as a limited practice participant on Tuesday for the second straight day this week. Dowdle has been dealing with an ankle injury for the last couple of weeks but hasn't missed any game action. The 25-year-old could end up being questionable for this Thursday's matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, but it would be a surprise if he was ruled out. Dowdle has been pretty efficient as the primary backup to lead back Tony Pollard in 2023, but he's just not seeing enough volume to be a standalone fantasy lineup option. In the Thanksgiving win over the Washington Commanders in Week 12, Dowdle had just three carries for 11 yards but also caught a 15-yard touchdown pass.

Leighton Vander Esch Nov 28 6:30pm ET
Leighton Vander Esch

Free-agent linebacker Shaquille Leonard's visit with the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday concluded without a contract, according to a person familiar with the situation. It doesn't mean that the two sides won't agree on something at a later date, but for now he has not signed a contract with the Dallas Cowboys. The three-time Pro Bowler and ex-Indianapolis Colt was never expected to make a quick decision on his next team, and he may be waiting for another visit with an interested club such as the Philadelphia Eagles. The 28-year-old linebacker isn't what he once was after enduring a slew of injuries in recent years, but he can still make some noise and will bring veteran leadership to a defense. Dallas is in need at the position after losing both Leighton Vander Esch (neck) and DeMarvion Overshown (knee) for the year.

Keaontay Ingram Nov 28 6:20pm ET
Keaontay Ingram

The Arizona Cardinals released running back Keaontay Ingram and defensive lineman Ben Stille from the active 53-man roster on Tuesday and released offensive lineman Austen Pleasants from the practice squad. The Cardinals are fully stocked at the running back position now that James Conner is back from Injured Reserve and after the team claimed Michael Carter off waivers from the New York Jets a few weeks ago. The Cardinals also have rookie Emari Demercado currently operating as the No. 3. The 24-year-old Ingram played in eight games (one start) for Arizona this year and had 35 rushing attempts for only 74 yards (2.11 yards per carry) while adding four receptions for an additional 26 yards through the air. Ingram will be hoping to latch on with another team as RB depth.

Kenneth Walker III Nov 28 6:10pm ET
Kenneth Walker III

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said he hasn't seen anything this week that shows that running back Kenneth Walker III (oblique) is recovered from the strained oblique he suffered in Week 11. Carroll said that Walker will "have questions" about his availability this Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys. Walker missed the Thanksgiving night loss to the San Francisco 49ers and has been a non-participant at practice on Monday and Tuesday this week. Unless he's able to practice on Wednesday, it's unlikely we'll see Walker play against Dallas, which would open the door for rookie Zach Charbonnet to make his second straight start. The 22-year-old had 14 carries for 47 yards and caught all four of his targets for 11 yards in the loss to the Niners.

Aaron Rodgers Nov 28 6:10pm ET
Aaron Rodgers

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) gave some updates on his status in his recovery from a torn Achilles on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday. "We're not where I can make a decision on playing because, health-wise, I'm improving steadily, but I'm not an ability to play at this point," Rodgers said. His next step will be throwing to teammates and going through the individual part of practice. Rodgers is currently running at 70% of his body weight at 8 mph on an anti-gravity treadmill and is back at the team's facility rehabbing full-time. Whether the 39-year-old future Hall of Famer will return to action in 2023 will come down to how healthy he is and whether the Jets are actually in the battle for a playoff spot. The Jets must first designate Rodgers to return from Injured Reserve, which would open up a 21-day window for him to officially be activated. It could still be a long shot, but if it does happen, he probably wouldn't return until around Week 16.

Zack Moss Nov 28 5:13pm ET

Dynasty | Colts running back Jonathan Taylor will have thumb surgery and be sidelined 2-3 weeks. Dynasty Analysis: Wait. What!?! Taylor apparently hurt his thumb over the weekend and the Colts have deemed surgery to be the best option with the hopes they can get him back in 2-3 weeks. It's a monster development in fantasy football as Taylor was rounding back into form as one of the league's best players. Zack Moss will take over as the team's primary back and is a must-start moving forward.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Zack Moss Nov 28 5:13pm ET
Zack Moss

Dynasty | With Jonathan Taylor sidelined with a thumb injury, Zack Moss will again be the RB1 in Indianapolis. Dynasty Analysis: Moss was a fantasy star early in the season as the overall RB4 through the first six weeks of the year. While that kind of production may be tough to duplicate, this is a big development in fantasy football as we approach the playoffs. Taylor will apparently only be sidelined 2-3 weeks but Moss is going to make for a solid short-term play during the last of the bye weeks and a clear trade target for a contender in a league with a late trade deadline.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Jonathan Taylor Nov 28 4:30pm ET
Jonathan Taylor

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) will undergo thumb surgery on Wednesday in Los Angeles with the hope that he can return in two to three weeks, according to owner Jim Irsay. We haven't received any other specific details on the nature of Taylor's thumb injury, but it's obviously serious enough to sideline him for at least a couple of weeks. The 24-year-old is coming off a two-touchdown performance in the Week 12 win over the Tampa Buccaneers and has dominated Indy's backfield touches the last four weeks, so it's a big loss for fantasy managers with only several more weeks until the playoffs begin in most leagues. Zack Moss, who was the lead back in Weeks 2-4 with Taylor on the PUP list due to an ankle injury, will now take over primary RB duties for the Colts and will have RB2 upside this weekend against the Tennessee Titans.

Kenyan Drake Nov 28 3:00pm ET
Kenyan Drake

Veteran running back Kenyan Drake was released by the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday. The 29-year-old signed with Cleveland's practice squad on October 31, but he lasted just under a month with the organization. In a corresponding move, the Browns signed John Kelly Jr., who has been on and off the team's practice squad since 2020. Drake appears to be near the end of his NFL career after stops in Miami, Arizona, Baltimore, and Cleveland.

Justin Jefferson Nov 28 2:30pm ET
Justin Jefferson

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson (hamstring) will be activated from Injured Reserve to the 53-man active roster on Tuesday. Jefferson has missed each of the team's last seven games after being placed on IR after Week 5 with a hamstring injury. Minnesota is on a bye in Week 13, so his potential return could come against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14. When Jefferson is active, he's a must-start option in all leagues. His ceiling could be reduced with Joshua Dobbs, Jaren Hall, or Nick Mullen under center, but his upside outweighs the risk. T.J. Hockenson, Jordan Addison, and K.J. Osborn will likely see reduced target shares when the reigning Offensive Player of the Year returns.
