Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes will have his scheduled start on Sunday pushed back to Wednesday, according to Jason Mackey of SportsNet Pittsburgh. Per Mackey, this move is due to concerns about his recovery and is not injury-related. The team is looking to provide the former top prospect with additional time to recover between starts. This is quite noteworthy as Skenes has endured some struggles over the past month of action. In his most recent outing, he tossed just five innings and threw only 65 pitches. The most notable concern of this start was that his fastball averaged a career-low of 95.7 MPH in this game. This season, Skenes has posted a 3.88 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP, a massive jump from last season's 1.97 ERA. Managers should continue to monitor his status in case Skenes faces further workload limitations down the stretch.

Arizona's 3B Nolan Arenado scored 31.5 fantasy points going 6-for-20 with three home runs and eight RBIs in five games this week. Arenado is owned only in 15.5% of mixed leagues.
White Sox's SS Chase Meidroth had a slash line of .438/.500/.812 going 7-for-16 with 3 RBIs in four games this week. Meidroth is owned only in 9.7% of mixed leagues.
Yankees' RF Trent Grisham scored 29.5 fantasy points going 8-for-20 with three home runs and seven RBIs in five games this week. Grisham is owned only in 26.8% of mixed leagues.
Phillies' 3B Alec Bohm had a slash line of .562/.588/.812 going 9-for-16 in five games this week. Bohm is owned only in 17.4% of mixed leagues.
Arizona's 2B Tim Tawa had three stolen bases and a .263 average with 2 RBIs in five games this week. Tawa is owned only in 7.6% of mixed leagues.
Angels' SP Reid Detmers recorded 11 strikeouts in 8 innings getting the win in a 1-0 win over the Royals on Saturday, Aug. 15.
St. Louis Cardinals' RF Joshua Baez had five RBIs going 3-for-4 with three home runs in a 8-4 win over the Cubs on Saturday, Aug. 15.
Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner (knee) left early during Saturday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Turner exited the game after fouling a pitch off his right knee, according to Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer. He was removed from the game in the eighth inning with the Phillies already leading big. The team was likely just being cautious, especially with a big lead on the scoreboard late in the contest. Before leaving, Turner went 1-for-3 with a single, a run scored, and a walk. Justin Crawford replaced him in the lineup while Edmundo Sosa took over at shortstop. Fantasy managers should check back after the game for another update on his injury.

Boston Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony (finger) is set to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Portland on Tuesday, according to Sean McAdam of MassLive.com. It appears that Anthony is finally making progress with his finger injury that has kept him sidelined since early May. He has been rehabbing a partially torn tendon in his finger, but appears ready for game action. Given he hasn't played in months, Anthony will likely require a lengthy rehab assignment. He should return by the end of the month, but will likely require at least a week of rehab games. Fantasy managers should check back for an update on his status over the next week.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb (back) was forced to make an early exit from Saturday's outing against the Colorado Rockies. Webb was pulled after 80 pitches due to back and shoulder tightness, according to Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News. Webb threw six strong innings, but began to feel tightness in his shoulder after getting hit by a comebacker in the fifth inning. The Giants decided to remove him from the contest as a precaution. Before exiting, Webb allowed one earned run on four hits while striking out seven batters across six innings of work. He's tentatively scheduled to pitch against the Boston Red Sox next week. Fantasy managers should check back in the coming days for an update on his status.
From RotoBaller
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Joshua Baez made history during his big league debut against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday. Baez did something no other MLB player has done before, which is homer in his first three plate appearances. He took the first pitch he saw as a big leaguer deep to center field for a solo homer off Matthew Boyd. He continued his success off Boyd with another long ball in the fourth inning. Baez came up for his third plate appearance in the sixth inning and blasted a ball over the right field wall. Overall, Baez went 3-for-4 with three homers and five RBI in his debut. The power and speed potential make Baez worth snagging in all fantasy formats right now after his incredible MLB debut.
From RotoBaller
Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson (finger) is not in the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Texas Rangers. Wilson was removed early during Friday's contest after he was hit by a pitch on the hand. Wilson is still with some swelling in his finger, so the A's will take the cautious approach and hold him out of Saturday's lineup. The X-rays came back negative, so fantasy managers should consider Wilson as day-to-day. Alika Williams will draw the start at shortstop and bat ninth against left-hander MacKenzie Gore on Saturday. Fantasy managers should check back on Sunday for another update on Wilson.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez (elbow) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. Perez returns after making an early exit during Wednesday's game due to a right elbow issue. He sat out of Friday's contest because of the injury, but returns as the designated hitter on Saturday. Perez is having a below-average year at the plate, but has been hitting the ball better in August. Fantasy managers can go ahead and get Perez back in their lineups ahead of first pitch on Saturday.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that outfielder Kyle Tucker is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the visiting Milwaukee Brewers because of his "frustrations playing at home," according to Dodger Blue. The Dodgers will give Tucker the day off to work, and it allows Alex Call to slide into the starting lineup in right field while batting eighth against right-handed flamethrower Jacob Misiorowski. The 29-year-old Tucker has been a bust so far in L.A. in 2026, slashing .234/.332/.373 with a .705 OPS, only 11 home runs, 54 RBI, 66 runs scored, and seven stolen bases in 116 games and 476 plate appearances. In 59 games (231 plate appearances) at home this year, he has gone just 39-for-203 (.192) with a .566 OPS, two home runs, 27 walks, and 46 strikeouts compared to a .275/.371/.469 with an .840 OPS and nine home runs in 57 games on the road away from Dodger Stadium. Tucker is also hitting only .220 (9-for-41) with two homers, a triple, three RBI, eight runs, six walks, and six strikeouts in 13 games so far in August.
From RotoBaller
Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Brice Turang (knee) remains out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers due to left-knee discomfort, per MLB.com. Jonathan Ornelas will make the start at the keystone for the Brew Crew and will hit ninth against Dodgers left-hander Justin Wrobleski. It will be a third straight game starting on the bench for Turang. He was seen doing fielding drills before Saturday's game, though, which could indicate that he could return to the starting nine for Sunday's series finale at Dodger Stadium. The 26-year-old left-handed hitter hasn't been as good at the plate recently, potentially because he's not 100% healthy, but overall, he's been one of the better fantasy producers at the second base position for a second straight season. Turang enters action on Saturday with a .268/.360/.450 slash line with an .810 OPS, 16 homers, 16 stolen bases, 76 RBI, and 74 runs across 451 at-bats for the first-place Brewers. He's a must-start in fantasy lineups when he's on the field.

Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Jordan Romano has 12 saves this season, including eight since the Rockies selected his contract on July 4. He converted his latest chance Wednesday against Arizona, working around a two-out walk in a scoreless ninth to finish a 6-4 win. Romano has gone eight-for-nine in save opportunities with Colorado and owns a 3.09 ERA with 14 strikeouts in 11 2/3 innings for the club. The walks are still something fantasy managers have to live with. Romano has issued seven of them during his Rockies stint, contributing to a 1.54 WHIP, but Colorado keeps handing him the ninth. RotoBaller currently lists the bullpen as solid with Romano on top, and he sits 25th in its Week 21 closer rankings. Even so, Yahoo has him rostered in just 12% of leagues. Romano fits best as an add in 15-team formats, especially for managers who need another steady path to saves.
From RotoBaller
Athletics relief pitcher Hogan Harris worked a scoreless ninth Friday, August 14, to finish an 8-3 win over the Texas Rangers. It wasn't a save situation, but the usage keeps him at the front of a bullpen that has bounced around much of the season. Harris has 11 saves, including back-to-back conversions in Boston on August 8 and 9, and RotoBaller currently lists him as the Athletics' closer. There are rough edges. Harris has walked 34 batters in 53 innings and carries a 1.55 WHIP, but he's also struck out 70 with a 3.57 ERA. That's enough swing-and-miss to keep him useful while he gets the bulk of the ninth-inning work. Harris is rostered in only 13% of Yahoo leagues, even though RotoBaller ranks him 23rd among closers for Week 21. He's best suited for 15-team leagues, but anyone digging for saves should know the job is leaning his way.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Steven Cruz picked up his fourth save Friday, August 14, working a scoreless ninth in a 7-6 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Cruz allowed one hit and struck out one, freezing Mike Trout for the final out. It was another ninth-inning chance for the right-hander, who has now recorded all four of his saves over his last 15 appearances. Cruz has been much better than his 4.17 season ERA suggests lately, posting a 2.40 ERA and 0.87 WHIP across those 15 outings. Alex Lange has moved into lower-leverage work, while Cruz has been getting the ninth more often. The job isn't completely secure yet, but Cruz is clearly the arm to chase from this bullpen right now. Yahoo managers haven't moved much yet, either, with Cruz rostered in just 6% of leagues. He's worth grabbing in deeper formats for anyone looking to add saves.
From RotoBaller
Seattle Mariners outfielder Taylor Ward (quad) remains out of the starting lineup Saturday against the Houston Astros. Ward has been dealing with quad tightness and was already held out Thursday before missing Friday's series opener in Houston as well. The Mariners have not placed him on the injured list, but the continued absence makes his status something fantasy managers will need to watch heading into Sunday's series finale. Seattle acquired Ward from the Baltimore Orioles at the trade deadline and had been using him regularly since his arrival. For now, he should remain on fantasy benches until the Mariners either get him back into the lineup or provide a clearer update on the quad issue.
