Los Angeles Angels third baseman Yoan Moncada has been placed on the restricted list ahead of Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Moncada will be away from the team in order to take his U.S. citizenship test. It's unclear when he'll be back with the team, but he shouldn't be gone longer than a game or two. In a corresponding move, infielder Niko Kavadas has been recalled from Triple-A. Oswald Peraza will take over the hot corner for Moncada during Tuesday's game.

Houston Astros starting pitcher Cristian Javier (elbow) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, according to manager Joe Espada. Javier should be close to returning to the big leagues. He threw 64 pitches over the course of a 3.1 inning outing on July 31. If everything goes well on Tuesday, Javier should hopefully be able to rejoin the Astros rotation after this start. The right-hander hasn't pitched at all this season while recovering from Tommy John surgery from last year. Javier is probably worth a stash in deep leagues with his return looming.

Boston Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony (back) will return to the starting lineup on Wednesday, according to manager Alex Cora. Anthony will miss his second straight game on Tuesday due to back tightness. Cora did mention that Anthony could've played on Tuesday, but the organization wants to be cautious with their 21-year-old star in the making. Masataka Yoshida will draw the start in left field during Tuesday's game. Fantasy managers should make sure to get Anthony out of their lineups on Tuesday, but at least they'll have him on Wednesday.

Detroit Tigers second baseman Gleyber Torres (forearm) was scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Twins. This seems like a precautionary decision considering there was no word of Torres dealing with any injuries coming into this game. There should be more information on his status later. For now, fantasy managers should consider Torres as day-to-day. Zach McKinstry will slide over to second base and bat seventh versus right-hander Zebby Matthews. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly.

Colorado Rockies pitcher Anthony Molina has been recalled to take the mound against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday. The Rockies are in need of a pitcher with Kyle Freeland (illness), Antonio Senzatela (finger) and German Marquez (biceps) all banged up at the moment. This will be Molina's first start of the season with the Rockies, but he made a handful of bullpen appearances before this. He has pitched well in the minors, but isn't a recommended streaming option against a tough Blue Jays offense

Minnesota Twins second base prospect Luke Keaschall (forearm) was activated from the 60-day injured and will start at second base and bat fifth on Tuesday against the division-rival Detroit Tigers and right-hander Chris Paddack at Comerica Park. Keaschall will join the big-league squad after being out since late April with a forearm fracture. The 22-year-old right-handed hitter only played in seven games at the big-league level with the Twins earlier this year before his injury, going 7-for-19 with two RBI, four runs scored and five stolen bases. The former second-rounder out of Arizona State has the ability to hit for average and power while getting on base frequently and stealing bases, and he should get plenty of run the rest of the 2025 season with the Twins looking to rebuild.

Milwaukee Brewers rookie right-hander Jacob Misiorowski (leg) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Tuesday with a planned mid-August return, according to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Misiorowski was placed on the 15-day injured list over the weekend with a left-tibia contusion. It's not a serious injury for the 23-year-old, but it allows the Brewers to play it safe with one of the most dominant arms in the game and keep him fresh for the stretch run. The former second-round pick in 2022 has already looked the part in his first seven big-league games, going 4-1 with a 2.70 ERA (3.11 FIP) and 0.96 WHIP, 47 strikeouts and 14 walks in 33 1/3 frames. Misiorowski has high-end fantasy potential for years to come and should already be rostered in all leagues, even with him on the IL.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (knee) remains out of the team's starting lineup for Tuesday's contest in Atlanta against the Braves, but he has responded well to treatment and is available off the bench at Truist Park, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. Frelick is dealing with soreness in his left knee and will be missing his third straight start, although it sounds like he won't have to go on the injured list and could return as soon as Wednesday in Atlanta. The Brewers do have an off day coming on Thursday, though, so Milwaukee could play it safe and hold Frelick out until Friday. The 25-year-old former first-rounder is having a breakout year for the first-place Brewers, slashing .296/.353/.412 with a .765 OPS, eight home runs, 41 RBI, 49 runs and 17 stolen bases in 98 games. Frelick is mainly attractive in fantasy for his speed.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio's right-hamstring strain is improving with treatment, and he has an estimated timeline to return in two to four weeks, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Todd Rosiak. It sounds like Chourio has responded well to a platelet-rich plasma injection that he received after going on the 10-day injured list a week ago. Initially, it was believed the 21-year-old wouldn't miss much time, but the Brewers thought twice about it and decided to rest one of their best players for the stretch run. Overall, it's good news for Chourio's fantasy managers, as he could be back before the end of August if he continues to recover at a good pace. In the meantime, both Isaac Collins and Blake Perkins will see more playing time in Milwaukee's outfield. Collins, in particular, has been hot of late.

Athletics infielder Luis Urias (back) is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game in Washington against the Nationals after he had to leave Sunday's series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks early with lower-back spasms. It's not a great sign that Urias isn't in there after the team had a day off on Monday, but he'll be considered day-to-day for now. Max Schuemann is starting at the keystone and is batting ninth for the A's against Nationals left-hander MacKenzie Gore. Gio Urshela is at third and is in the eight-hole. Fantasy managers setting DFS lineups will probably want to avoid both Schuemann and Urshela everywhere. Urshela is hitting .167 in his six career at-bats against Gore, while Schuemann has gone hitless against the tough lefty in just two at-bats.

Tampa Bay Rays pitching prospect Yoniel Curet has been promoted to Triple-A Durham. The Rays' 15th-ranked prospect missed most of the season with a shoulder injury, but has pitched well since his return from the IL on July 3, recording a 1.12 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and a 19.2 percent K-BB% in 18 2/3 innings pitched (five starts). He was coming off a 2024 season in which he posted similar results in 119 IP between High-A and Double-A, with his 159 strikeouts good for the 10th-most in all the minors last year. With his strikeout stuff and the fact he's on the 40-man roster, it's possible he joins the Rays late in the season if they're in position to make a run at the Wild Card, perhaps as a reliever rather than a starter, and if not, expect him to be in the big leagues at some point next year.

The Cincinnati Reds announced on Tuesday that they placed left-hander Nick Lodolo (finger) on the 15-day injured list with a blister on his left index finger and recalled right-hander Yosver Zulueta from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. Lodolo left his start early on Monday night against the Chicago Cubs in the second inning due to a blister and will now miss at least the next two weeks. The fact that the 27-year-old has dealt with blister issues in the past isn't a great sign, either. In the meantime, fantasy managers should look to hang onto him in an IL spot. Right-hander Nick Martinez is the likely candidate to take Lodolo's spot in Cincy's starting rotation, and he won't be a bad waiver-wire pickup in deep-mixed leagues with the opportunity. Lodolo is now 8-6 on the year with a nice 3.05 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with a career-low 23.6% strikeout rate in 129 2/3 innings.

Milwaukee Brewers right-handed reliever Shelby Miller (forearm) was sent on a minor-league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Nashville, according to the team. Miller is working his way back from a strained right forearm, but barring a setback on his rehab assignment, he could join his new team soon after the Arizona Diamondbacks traded him at last week's deadline. With Trevor Megill entrenched as the team's primary closer in Milwaukee, the 34-year-old Miller is going to lose considerable fantasy value with the move to his new team, although he should still be in play in leagues that count holds in a high-leverage, late-inning setup role. Miller has had an excellent season with the D-backs, posting a 1.98 ERA (3.14 FIP), a 0.96 WHIP, a career-high 10 saves and a 40:11 K:BB in 36 1/3 innings pitched in 2025.

St. Louis Cardinals left-handed reliever JoJo Romero will remain in a closer committee in St. Louis after the team traded away closer Ryan Helsley to the New York Mets at last week's deadline. Romero should probably be considered the favorite for save chances the rest of the way -- he has two saves in the last three days for the Red Birds -- especially since he's the only lefty arm in the bullpen after Steven Matz was traded. In addition to Romero, Riley O'Brien and Kyle Leahy are the other candidates to see save chances for the Cardinals in the final two months of the season. The 28-year-old Romero came on to preserve the win in Monday's 3-2 victory over the Dodgers, striking out one in a scoreless inning while also giving up a hit and a walk. Romero hasn't been perfect in 2025, but he has 16 holds and now is the favorite for saves in a committee approach.

New York Yankees reliever Mark Leiter Jr. (leg) is expected to come off the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. The Yankees have already cleared space in their bullpen by optioning right-hander Jake Bird to Triple-A Scranton Wilkes/Barre and designating righty JT Brubaker for assignment. Leiter last pitched July 6 before going on the IL with a left fibula stress fracture. Although he suffered the injury a couple of weeks before his IL placement, Leiter tried to pitch through it before the Yankees shut him down. He'll return to a bullpen that is in a state of turmoil despite the acquisitions of Bird, David Bednar, and Camilo Doval at the July 31 trade deadline. Leiter has posted an uninspiring 4.46 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP in 34 1/3 innings, but he has been a good source of holds (11) and strikeouts (46). His strong xERA (3.58), FIP (2.79), and xFIP (2.96) suggest he has pitched much better than his ERA indicates.

Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said over the weekend that injured reliever Liam Hendriks (hip) was unlikely to return this season. It turns out that Hendriks does expect to come back, as he told reporters on Monday that Cora's statement was "a slip of the tongue." The Red Sox have gone most of 2025 without Hendriks, who didn't debut until late April after recovering from Tommy John surgery and hasn't pitched since May 27 as a result of hip inflammation. When he has been healthy enough to pitch this season, the 36-year-old has struggled to a 6.59 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP, 12 strikeouts, and seven walks in 13 2/3 innings. Hendriks, a three-time All-Star, could rejoin Boston's bullpen in September.

The New York Yankees announced that they have optioned reliever Jake Bird to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. It's not official yet, but the team is expected to activate fellow reliever Mark Leiter Jr. (leg) from the 15-day injured list to take Bird's spot. Along with David Bednar and Camilo Doval, the right-handed Bird was one of three relievers the Yankees added at the July 31 trade deadline in an effort to build an elite bullpen. So far, the Bird acquisition has been a flop. The former Colorado Rockie has made three appearances for the Yankees and surrendered six earned runs on seven hits (two homers) with four strikeouts and two walks over two innings. After giving up a walk-off three-run homer to Rangers third baseman Josh Jung on Monday, Bird owns a 5.53 ERA and a 1.54 with 66:25 K:BB across 55 1/3 frames.

Houston Astros second baseman Brendan Rodgers (head) remains in concussion protocol, but he has begun light jogging and throwing. Rodgers originally went on the 10-day injured list in mid-June with an oblique strain. In his first Triple-A rehab game on July 18, he suffered more serious injuries - a concussion and a nasal fracture - after colliding with a teammate. The Astros then transferred Rodgers to the 60-day IL, meaning he won't be eligible to rejoin the club until Aug. 17. That date appears unrealistic, though, as Rodgers remains without a timetable to return. Before going on the IL, the 28-year-old hit just 191/.266/.278 with two home runs in 128 plate appearances. The Astros have used a handful of players at the keystone this season, but longtime second baseman Jose Altuve has gotten the lion's share of time there lately after opening 2025 in the outfield.

San Diego Padres left-hander Nestor Cortes (elbow) will make his team debut Wednesday with a start against the Arizona Diamondbacks. It'll also be the first appearance in the majors since April 3 for Cortes, who was on the shelf with an elbow strain for four months. The Padres acquired Cortes from Milwaukee at the July 31 trade deadline in a deal that saw the Brewers land outfielder Brandon Lockridge. San Diego has since activated Cortes from the 60-day injured list. Cortes has made two starts and allowed eight earned runs in eight innings this season, but the 30-year-old does have a solid track record in the bigs. He totaled 30 starts in 31 appearances for the New York Yankees in 2024 and put up a 3.77 ERA with a 1.15 WHIP, 162 strikeouts, and 39 walks over 174 1/3 innings.

The Washington Nationals will call up right-hander Cade Cavalli from Triple-A Rochester to start against the Athletics on Wednesday, Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan reports. It'll be the first appearance in the bigs for Cavalli since he made one start in 2022. The former first-round pick from the 2020 draft missed all of 2023 and most of 2024 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Cavalli, 26, has come back to make 15 starts and throw 65 innings at the Triple-A level this season, but he has posted a bloated 6.09 ERA with a 1.45 WHIP and 72 strikeouts against 27 walks. While Cavalli doesn't look like a great option against an Athletics offense that ranks 12th in wOBA and 14th in runs scored, the out-of-contention Nats want to give him another look in the majors post-surgery.
