Younghoe Koo Aug 12 10:30pm ET
    Younghoe Koo

Atlanta Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo went 2-for-2 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra points during Friday's preseason opener against the Detroit Lions. He has established himself as one of the NFL's best kickers and faces no competition heading into 2022. Fantasy managers looking for consistent production at the kicker position should turn to someone like Koo.

Craig Reynolds Aug 12 10:20pm ET
    Craig Reynolds

Detroit Lions running back Craig Reynolds rushed three times for 13 yards against the Atlanta Falcons during Friday's preseason opener. He also turned two targets into two catches for an additional five receiving yards. Reynolds impressed in his third pro season last year, totaling 230 rushing yards and 52 receiving yards. Heading into 2022, the 26-year-old will compete with Godwin Igwebuike and Jermar Jefferson for the third-string job behind incumbent starter D'Andre Swift and veteran backup Jamaal Williams. Barring injury to those two, Reynolds won't have fantasy relevance this coming season

Riley Patterson Aug 12 10:20pm ET
    Riley Patterson

Detroit Lions kicker Riley Patterson went 2-for-2 on field goals and also converted his lone extra-point attempt during Friday's preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons. Patterson was the Lions' kicker for the final seven weeks of his rookie season last year, going an impressive 16-for-16 on extra points and 13-for-14 on field goals. Given his youth and last season's success, he has the leg up on Austin Seibert for the kicking job in 2022. Nevertheless, Detroit will do its due diligence and give both legs a fair shot this preseason.

    From RotoBaller

Austin Seibert Aug 12 10:20pm ET
    Austin Seibert

Detroit Lions kicker Austin Seibert connected on his lone field goal and lone extra point attempt during Friday's preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons. He is competing with second-year kicker Riley Patterson for the lead job heading into 2022. Seibert was the Lions' kicker for the first six games in 2021, connecting on all five extra points and 10 of 12 field goals. However, he missed the rest of the season with a hip injury and Patterson filled in admirably. Head coach Dan Campbell recently said that Seibert leads the competition by a "tick," but it's undoubtedly a neck-and-neck race going forward.

    D'Andre Swift Aug 12 10:10pm ET
    D'Andre Swift

Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift rushed four times for 20 yards and one touchdown during Friday's preseason loss to the Atlanta Falcons. As expected, all of his reps came with the starters on the opening drive. Swift amassed 617 rushing yards, 452 receiving yards, and seven total touchdowns en route to finishing as the RB15 last season. He missed some time due to injury, but assuming he stays healthy and sees the bulk of the workload over Jamaal Williams, he could finish as a low-end RB1 in 2022.

Joe Burrow Aug 12 10:10pm ET
    Joe Burrow

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (appendectomy) was running sprints ahead of Friday's preseason bout against Arizona. Although the signal-caller is still working his way back from surgery, it appears he's inching closer to a return. The 25-year-old is coming off a fantastic 2021-22 campaign, finishing his sophomore year by throwing for 4,611 yards and 34 touchdowns (14 interceptions) while completing over 70% of his passing attempts. Head coach Zac Taylor won't give a definitive update on Burrow's status for Week 1. However, he's anticipated to be ready. With Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Joe Mixon at Burrow's disposal, the former LSU Tiger has an excellent shot to finish as the year's top fantasy quarterback, or at least close to it.

    From RotoBaller

Jermar Jefferson Aug 12 10:10pm ET
    Jermar Jefferson

Detroit Lions running back Jermar Jefferson rushed nine times for 19 yards during Friday's preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons. He also turned two targets into one reception for an additional three receiving yards. Jefferson totaled 97 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns while filling a depth role for Detroit last season. Heading into 2022, he'll compete with Godwin Igwebuike and Craig Reynolds for the third-string job behind incumbent starter D'Andre Swift and veteran backup Jamaal Williams. Barring injury to those two, Jefferson won't have fantasy relevance this coming season.

    Amon-Ra St. Brown Aug 12 10:00pm ET
    Amon-Ra St. Brown

Detroit Lions second-year wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown hauled in both of the passes thrown his way during Friday's preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons. He ran with the starters during the first offensive drive and racked up 29 yards. St. Brown had a memorable rookie season in 2021, posting a whopping 151.1 fantasy points from Week 13 to 18. For context, that ranked second only behind Cooper Kupp. Even though the Lions brought in competition in the form of Jameson Williams and DJ Chark, fantasy managers should view St. Brown as a solid WR2 option this coming season. He has earned the trust of quarterback Jared Goff and is poised to play a huge role in the Lions' offense once again.

    From RotoBaller

Devin Funchess Aug 12 10:00pm ET
    Devin Funchess

Detroit Lions tight end Devin Funchess hauled in all four of his targets during Friday's preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons. He finished with 19 yards and was also on the receiving end of Detroit's lone passing touchdown. Funchess hasn't played a regular-season snap since Week 1 of the 2019 season, but he has converted from wide receiver to tight end and remains persistent in his attempt to secure a roster spot. With the Lions committing roster spots to T.J. Hockenson and a blocking tight end, Funchess is vying for the third and final tight end role in Detroit's offense. He doesn't possess the youth that James Mitchell does, but he still has a chance to sneak onto the roster with a strong preseason showing.

    From RotoBaller

Brandon Allen Aug 12 9:50pm ET
    Brandon Allen

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Brandon Allen (concussion) exited Friday's preseason matchup versus the Arizona Cardinals. He will not return. With Joe Burrow (appendectomy) sitting this one out, Allen was handling things under center, although the 29-year-old didn't last long. He has been a relatively reliable backup over his last two years in Cincinnati, accumulating 1,074 yards, seven touchdowns (four interceptions), and completing 60.8% of his passes. While Allen's status is unknown moving ahead, Jake Browning and Drew Plitt will likely see plenty of action during the rest of the preseason if he isn't available.

    From RotoBaller

Kalif Raymond Aug 12 9:50pm ET
    Kalif Raymond

Detroit Lions wide receiver Kalif Raymond was targeted four times during Friday's preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons. He primarily played with the second unit, finishing with two catches and 52 yards in the loss. Raymond had a decent 2021 season with Detroit, catching 48 passes for 576 yards and four touchdowns en route to finishing as the WR52 in PPR leagues. Although he'll compete for increased opportunities in 2022, it could be tough for him to top last season now that the Lions have added D.J. Chark and Jameson Williams, not to mention the rise of Amon-Ra St. Brown.

    From RotoBaller

David Blough Aug 12 9:40pm ET
    David Blough

Detroit Lions quarterback David Blough completed 18 of 28 passes for 141 yards during Friday's preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons. His final stat line included zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. He also picked up a team-most 22 yards on the ground. The 27-year-old Purdue product spent most of last season as the Lions' No. 3 quarterback, but he made enough of an impact to earn a new contract this offseason. He continues to compete for the role of Jared Goff's backup, but given how the snap count played out Friday, it looks like Tim Boyle has a leg up on the competition once again.

    From RotoBaller

Tim Boyle Aug 12 9:40pm ET
    Tim Boyle

Detroit Lions quarterback Tim Boyle finished 9-for-16 with 111 yards, one touchdown, and one interception during Friday's preseason loss to the Atlanta Falcons. He took over for Jared Goff at the end of the first quarter and played the remainder of the half. He likely has a leg up on fellow quarterback David Blough in the competition to be Goff's backup. The Eastern Kentucky product saw some action last season, completing 61 of 94 passes for 526 yards, three touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Zach Wilson Aug 12 9:30pm ET
    Zach Wilson

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) left Friday's preseason matchup against the Eagles. The sophomore signal-caller went down untouched in the first quarter, immediately limping off the field with a right knee injury. Wilson should undergo further testing to determine the severity of the ailment. However, if he misses time this season, Joe Flacco, a favorite of head coach Robert Saleh, may handle things under center.

    From RotoBaller

Elijah Mitchell Aug 12 9:20pm ET
    Elijah Mitchell

San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell (hamstring) may miss the entire preseason. The 24-year-old is currently dealing with a hamstring issue, although he's forecasted to be ready for Week 1. He was the team's most productive back last season, finishing the year with 963 yards and five rushing touchdowns off 207 carries, so being without him wouldn't be ideal, especially with Trey Lance still developing. Nevertheless, if Mitchell can't suit up for the season opener, Kyle Shanahan may lean on Jeff Wilson Jr., Trey Sermon, and rookie Tyrion Davis-Price to collectively carry the load. The team's second-leading rusher during the 2021-22 campaign, Deebo Samuel, could also be utilized more than usual out of the backfield.

    From RotoBaller

Deshaun Watson Aug 12 8:40pm ET
    Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson completed one of five passes for seven yards in Friday's preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Watson was playing without most of Cleveland's starters on offense, including Amari Cooper and Nick Chubb during the contest. He lasted three drives before giving way to Josh Dobbs at quarterback. Watson predictably looked rusty after having not played in a game since the end of the 2020 season, although Anthony Schwartz also dropped two passes from Watson, which didn't help matters. The veteran quarterback is still awaiting the results of the NFL's appeal of the six-game suspension recommended by Sue Robinson a few weeks back, meaning Friday's preseason action could be his last time on the field for a while.

    From RotoBaller

David Montgomery Aug 12 6:50pm ET
    David Montgomery

Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery will enter the 2022 regular season without a contract extension, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN. The Bears are being patient and will wait to see how he looks this season before offering a potential contract. The Iowa State product has looked decent through three years in the NFL. After a strong 2020 campaign, he took a step back in 2021, totaling 849 rushing yards, 301 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns through 13 total games. He should be viewed as a mid-range RB2 heading into 2022.

    From RotoBaller

Drake London Aug 12 6:40pm ET
    Drake London

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London exited Friday's preseason game with a knee injury and will not return, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Fans will now have to hold their breath for the remainder of the game before we find out whether his absence is merely a precaution or if he's dealing with a more serious injury. The No. 8 pick out of USC had an impressive 24-yard catch and run on the Falcons' first drive of the game versus Detroit. He should be viewed as a WR3 in all formats and has plenty of upside, especially in dynasty leagues.

    From RotoBaller

Pierre Strong Jr. Aug 12 6:20pm ET
    Pierre Strong Jr.

New England Patriots running back Pierre Strong Jr. was among Chad Graff's list of players trending down following Thursday's preseason loss to the New York Giants. Although the rookie led the team in rushing, most of his usage came on the final drive with the lowest reserves, which isn't ideal. Graff also notes that "Strong missed the start of training camp due to injury, and so far, it doesn't seem like he's caught up." He's competing with Ty Montgomery, J.J. Taylor, and Kevin Harris in the backfield. Strong likely won't be released, but his path to fantasy relevance looks bleak in 2022.

    From RotoBaller

Miles Sanders Aug 12 6:10pm ET
    Miles Sanders

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders' production in 2022 could be restricted by his ongoing struggles in the passing game as "he continues to fight the ball at times," according to Bo Wulf of The Athletic. This is not a major surprise considering he has been held to 54 catches and 355 receiving yards over his last two seasons combined. For comparison, he caught 50 passes for 509 yards in his rookie season alone. Between Sanders' struggles and Kenneth Gainwell's promising profile as a pass-catcher, the former will likely be tasked with duties on the ground while the latter gets involved on passing downs. As a result, Sanders' fantasy production could suffer. He should be viewed as a low-end RB2 or high-end RB3 heading into 2022, especially as the Eagles have even more mouths to feed.
