EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings don't have a secret to success. Their formula for winning is obvious.
They used it again to beat the Chicago Bears on Sunday and stay in the playoff chase.
First, they need a healthy early lead so running back Adrian Peterson can drain the clock. Then they need their defense to force a turnover or two. Then throw in a few punts, prevent long passes and maybe even score a touchdown.
These days in the NFL, winning without throwing is almost unfathomable, but that's what the Vikings have been doing. They've netted 100 yards passing or less four times this season. They've won three of those games.
