Chandler Jones Sep 23 12:20pm ET
    Chandler Jones

The Las Vegas Raiders defense faces off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3 looking to bounce back from a 38-10 shellacking last week to the Bills. The Steelers have had struggles of their own offensively this year, ranking 31st in offensive yards and 26th in points per game. The Raiders D/ST have yet to force a turnover in two games this season and continue to be without star DE Chandler Jones, who has been absent from the team for personal reasons. Leave the Raiders defense on waivers again this week.

Curtis Samuel Sep 23 12:00pm ET
    Curtis Samuel

Washington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel (illness) has been upgraded to no injury designation for Week 3 and will be active on Sunday to face the visiting Buffalo Bills. Safety Kamren Curl (illness) will also play. Samuel wasn't on the injury report this week until he missed practice on Friday, and the team listed him as questionable. The 27-year-old seems to have improved and will once again serve as the No. 3 wideout behind Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson this weekend. At best, Samuel is a consideration as a flex play in deep fantasy leagues. Through the first two games in 2023, the veteran pass-catcher has only eight receptions (eight targets) for 73 yards and no touchdowns.

Daniel Carlson Sep 23 12:00pm ET
    Daniel Carlson

Las Vegas Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson has been stellar when called upon so far in 2023, the problem is that has not been often enough. The 27-year-old is two-for-two on field goals and three-for-three on extra points for a Las Vegas offense that ranks 31st in points and 30th in yards after two weeks. The Raiders welcome the Steelers to town on Sunday night, a team giving up 11.5 fantasy points to opposing kickers so far this year. Carlson is an incredible talent weighed down by a below-average offense, making him a low-end kicker for fantasy managers at this point in the season despite the promising matchup.

Davante Adams Sep 23 11:50am ET
    Davante Adams

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams practiced in full this week and is expected to suit up against the Steelers on Sunday after leaving last week's game late with concussion symptoms. Adams ranks as the WR17 in half-PPR so far this season, with 17 targets, 12 catches, 150 yards, and one touchdown. The 30-year-old will look to build on that in a promising matchup against the Steelers on Sunday. Adams projects to match up primarily against Pittsburgh CB Levi Wallace who has a below-average 42.0 coverage grade according to PFF. Adams is a safe WR1 for fantasy again this week.

Jimmy Garoppolo Sep 23 11:40am ET
    Jimmy Garoppolo

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been a serviceable real-world quarterback so far in his first season in Silver and Black, doing just enough to help the team to a 1-1 record despite injuries and a shaky offensive line. The same can't be said for his fantasy outlook, however - the 26-year-old ranks 27th at the position in fantasy points thus far in 2023, and isn't expected to perform much better in the foreseeable future. Garoppolo and the Raiders match up against the Steelers in Week 3, whose defense only surrendered 12.6 fantasy points to QB Deshaun Watson last week. Garoppolo continues to be a mid-range QB3 that should only be considered in superflex leagues.

Cordarrelle Patterson Sep 23 11:40am ET
    Cordarrelle Patterson

Atlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson (thigh) has been given a questionable designation for the Week 3 game on Sunday in Detroit against the Lions. Patterson popped up on the injury report on Thursday after not practicing, but he was able to put in a limited session on Friday to give him a chance to suit up this weekend. The 32-year-old didn't enter the Week 2 win over the Green Bay Packers with an injury designation but was still made inactive. Patterson has yet to play for the Falcons so far in 2023, and even if he does make his season debut in Detroit, he's going to have a small role behind RBs Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier. He is far from the fantasy radar right now heading into Week 3.

    From RotoBaller

Josh Jacobs Sep 23 11:40am ET
    Josh Jacobs

Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs has disappointed fantasy managers thus far this season, averaging 23 yards/game on the ground (1.6 yards/attempt) and 37 yards/game through the air. The bright spot has been his volume and usage as Las Vegas' bell cow running back, averaging 76% of snaps and 17.5 touches/game so far. He will have an opportunity to increase his dismal yard/attempt average in Week 3 against a Pittsburgh Steelers team allowing 30+ points per game to opposing fantasy RBs, the second-most in the NFL to this point. Expect Jacobs to look more like himself this week as a locked-in RB1 based on his continued volume.

Lamar Jackson Sep 23 11:30am ET
    Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens left tackle Ronnie Stanley (knee) and cornerback Marlon Humphrey (foot) have both been ruled out for the Week 3 game on Sunday against the visiting Indianapolis Colts. Stanley will be missing his second straight game due to a knee injury, with both Patrick Mekari and Daniel Faalele the options to replace him on quarterback Lamar Jackson's blind side. Humphrey is still recovering from foot surgery that he had in August and will have to wait until Week 4 to make his 2023 debut. With the 27-year-old missing from Baltimore's secondary yet again, Rock Ya-Sin will make another start for the Ravens against the Colts.

Hassan Haskins Sep 23 11:20am ET
    Hassan Haskins

Tennessee Titans running back Hassan Haskins (undisclosed) was removed from the commissioner's exempt list and has been returned to Injured Reserve. Haskins was placed on the commissioner's exempt list on Aug. 29, but charges were dropped on Thursday after allegations of aggravated assault stemming from his arrest over the summer. The 23-year-old will remain on Injured Reserve for the rest of the year unless the Titans decide to waive the second-year back eventually. A fourth-round pick last year, Haskins played in 15 games (one start) in 2022 and had 25 carries for 93 yards while catching 11 of 12 targets for 57 additional yards. He's obviously well off the fantasy radar in 2023.

Kyle Shanahan Sep 23 11:20am ET
    Kyle Shanahan

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch received multi-year contract extensions on Friday, the team announced. Shanahan was previously inked through the 2025 season, while Lynch was signed through 2024. Lynch took over as the GM in 2017 and brought Shanahan over from the Atlanta Falcons in February of that same year. Despite a number of changes at quarterback, Lynch and Shanahan have found constant success and led the team to an NFC title in 2019 and an appearance in Super Bowl LIV. The duo has posted a record of 52-46 between 2017 and 2022 and have started the 2023 season with three straight wins. They've reached the conference championship three times in six seasons and posted three seasons of 10-plus wins in that span.

Deon Jackson Sep 23 11:10am ET
    Deon Jackson

The Indianapolis Colts are releasing running back Deon Jackson on Saturday, according to a source, and are bringing up Trey Sermon from the practice squad for the Week 3 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Jackson got the start for the Colts in the Week 1 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars with Zack Moss still recovering from a fractured forearm and sealed his fate with 13 carries for just 14 yards, catching five of six targets for 14 yards and losing two fumbles. Moss returned last week and will work as the leader of this backfield until Jonathan Taylor (ankle) can return from the Physically Unable to Perform list. Rookie Evan Hull (knee) is out for the year with a torn meniscus, leaving Jake Funk and Sermon as the only other RBs on the roster right now.

    From RotoBaller

Darnell Washington Sep 23 11:10am ET
    Darnell Washington

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie tight end Darnell Washington (knee) was able to put in a full practice on Friday and won't carry an injury designation into the Week 3 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday night. Washington was held out of the first practice of the week on Wednesday and was limited on Thursday. As long as Pat Freiermuth is healthy for the Steelers, the third-round rookie isn't going to have much of a role in this offense. Through his first two NFL games, Washington hasn't been targeted at all. The 22-year-old played 38 percent of the offensive snaps in the Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers and 48 percent of the snaps in Monday night's win over the Cleveland Browns.

    From RotoBaller

Elijah Moore Sep 23 7:40am ET
    Elijah Moore

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Elijah Moore will take on the Tennessee Titans at home in Week 3. Moore has been the team's second-most targeted player through two weeks, having drawn 16 looks from Deshaun Watson. While the two have struggled to connect thus far, Moore's involvement in the offense is a good sign for his future outlook. The Titans are tough against the run but struggle to defend the pass, allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers through two games. Moore is on the board as a flex option in Week 3.

    From RotoBaller

Dustin Hopkins Sep 23 7:40am ET
    Dustin Hopkins

Cleveland Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins has been a reliable kicker for the team through the first two weeks of the season, having hit five of his six field goals and his lone extra point. He will look to keep it going at home against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3. The Titans have been generous to opposing kickers thus far in 2023, allowing the 10th-most fantasy points per game to the position. Hopkins is worth a look as a top-15 fantasy kicker in Week 3.

    From RotoBaller

David Njoku Sep 23 7:30am ET
    David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku has caught six of his seven targets for 72 scoreless yards through his first two games of the season. He could be in line for a larger role in the offense now that the team will be without Nick Chubb for the rest of the season. Njoku will face off against the Tennessee Titans at home in Week 3 in what sets up as a decent matchup for him as the Titans are allowing the 18th-most fantasy points per game to tight ends through two weeks. Njoku can be started as a low-end TE1 heading into Week 3.

Julian Love Sep 23 5:40am ET
    Julian Love

The Seattle Seahawks have opened the season allowing at least 30 points in back-to-back games. They hope to turn things around in Week 3 against a Carolina Panthers team who have averaged only 13.5 points per game in the first two weeks of 2023. Seattle has ruled out defensive back Coby Jones and listed cornerback Riq Woolen as doubtful for Week 3. Safeties Julian Love and Quandre Diggs are all listed as questionable, as well. Still, after the signs of life shown last week against the Lions (three forced turnovers, two sacks, and one touchdown), the Seahawks are worth a look against a Panthers offense that has turned the ball over four times and allowed six sacks through their first two games of the season.

    From RotoBaller

Jason Myers Sep 23 5:30am ET
    Jason Myers

Seattle Seahawks kicker Jason Myers has made three of his six field goal attempts so far this season. The ninth-year veteran will look to improve in Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers, who are averaging 22 points allowed so far in 2023. Myers has a long enough track record to be trusted in Week 3, but if he turns in another subpar performance then fantasy managers can't be shy about seeking out another option for the weeks ahead.

    From RotoBaller

Noah Fant Sep 23 5:20am ET
    Noah Fant

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant brought in all four of his targets for 56 yards in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions. It was a modest stat line but a refreshing change from being a complete non-factor in Seattle's season opener. With fellow tight end Will Dissly (shoulder) doubtful to play in Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers, Fant should see a substantial boost to his snap share. Whether that turns into meaningful fantasy production is another question as the triumvirate of DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba are the priorities in Seattle's passing attack. Fant can be left on the bench for another week.

    From RotoBaller

    Jaxon Smith-Njigba Sep 23 5:00am ET
    Jaxon Smith-Njigba

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was targeted five times in Week 1 and six times in Week 2, but he is not yet threatening the workloads of DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. The 21-year-old has only been on the field for 58% of snaps and the targets he has seen are at an average depth of just 1.9 yards. In Week 3 against the Panthers, Smith-Njigba will line up against Jimmy Chinn or Troy Hill, who have managed most of the slot corner snaps for Carolina in the first two weeks of the season. Smith-Njigba is definitely worth holding but the only reason to start him in Week 3 is if Metcalf (ribs) is ruled out.

    From RotoBaller

Tyler Lockett Sep 23 4:50am ET
    Tyler Lockett

In the first two weeks of the new NFL season, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett has had two wildly different games. In the season opener against the Los Angeles Rams, he was held to 10 receiving yards on two catches. Last week against the Lions, Lockett came back to life and caught eight balls for 59 yards and two touchdowns. In Week 3, the Seahawks host the Carolina Panthers, their opponent from Week 14 last season. In that matchup, Lockett caught five passes for 60 yards and a score. So far this season, the ninth-year veteran is on the field for 87% of snaps and is leading the team in targets per game. Even with Jaxon Smith-Njigba nipping at his heels, Lockett's usage dictates that he be started in Week 3.
