2019 RTSports Outlook

Edelman was suspended the first four games of the season but was the top receiver in the offense once he returned to the lineup. He had 74 receptions for 850 yards and six touchdowns. If he plays a full season, Edelman has 99 receptions for 1,133 yards and eight touchdowns. Edelman was 21st overall in fantasy receiver scoring despite missing four games. He had two 100-yard games and at least five receptions nine games. Edelman was a consistent force in the Patriots pass-heavy offense. He should continue his high-volume role this year. Edelman has 90-plus receptions three of five seasons and two 1,000-yard seasons during that stretch. Edelman is a small target, but has good speed and hands. He does well on crossing routes and makings plays after the catch. Tom Brady trusts him in the passing game and throws his way often, especially when he needs to move the chains. Fantasy Outlook: Edelman just gets it done on a weekly basis. He might not score many touchdowns but his reception and yardage totals make him a top-20 fantasy receiver. He will get around 90 receptions for 1,000 yards and six or so scores.

RotoBaller's Outlook

The 62 230-pound Harry has become the most likely candidate to lead this years rookie class in most major categories at the wide receiver position. He captured 213 receptions while accruing 2,889 yards and 22 touchdowns during his three seasons at Arizona State., which includes the output that he delivered in 2018 (73 receptions/1,088 yards/9 touchdowns/14.9 YPC). Harry has demonstrated his prowess for confiscating contested throws, and this ability to track passes that are launched in his vicinity combine with his size and competitive approach to provide a highly favorable blend of attributes. He also became the beneficiary of an opportunity to become an immediate contributor for a New England offense that is largely devoid of both dependable and dynamic receiving weapons, as Julian Edelman is the only Patriot receiver who is cemented into an integral role for the team. Harry can quickly emerge as productive presence for both the New England offense and the fantasy owners who select him. This justifies his current standing as the first overall selection in many rookie drafts. He should also exceed the current expectations of his eighth round ADP in redraft leagues.

Fantasy Spin: Edelman is in no danger of missing the game even though he probably will be on the injury list for the rest of the season. He is the main target in the passing game for the Patriots and can be at least a No. 2 fantasy receiver.

Dec 6 4:50pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman (shoulder) was limited in practice on Thursday but is expected to play against the Chiefs in Week 14. He will have a tough matchup against a Chiefs Defense that is allowing the third fewest fantasy points to opposing receivers this season. Edelman is having perhaps his best season and is averaging 7.6 receptions over his last six games. The Chiefs have allowed only three touchdowns to receivers since Week 5 so finding the end zone may be difficult for the veteran receiver. But he will have plenty of value, especially in PPR leagues, heading into Week 14.

From RotoBaller

From TheHuddle

Dec 2 2:53am ET

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (shoulder) had six catches, 106 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 13 loss to the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Spin: Make it seven straight games for Edelman with double-digit targets as he and James White are clearly the two players Tom Brady completely trusts, even with teams focused on taking them out of the equation. Edelman is an absolute must-start in all formats.

From TheHuddle

Dec 2 1:00am ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman caught six passes for 106 yards and one touchdown in the Patriots 28-22 loss to the Texans. The Patriots were playing from behind for most of the game and Edelman was able to pick up some yards with the game somewhat out of hand. The veteran receiver boosted his fantasy day with a 20-yard touchdown catch, his fifth of the season, in the fourth quarter. Edelman is cruising towards his second 100-catch season of his career and is a strong bet to exceed 1,000 yards receiving for the third time over the remaining four games.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (shoulder) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 28.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (shoulder) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 27.

Fantasy Spin: Edelman has been taking it easier in practice early in the week of late, as he has seen 10-plus targets in six straight games. He'll be ready come Sunday.

From TheHuddle

Nov 26 6:50pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will go up against a Texans secondary that is allowing the 13th most fantasy points to receivers this season. Edelman has been as consistent as they come with his production this season, catching six or passes eight times with seven games of 60 yards or more. The Texans have allowed 14 touchdowns to receivers and 15 different receivers have posted at least nine fantasy points against them. Edelman should easily reach that benchmark and could find the end zone in this anticipated Week 13 duel.

From RotoBaller

Nov 25 12:40am ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman caught eight passes for 93 yards in the Patriots 13-9 triumph over the Cowboys in Week 12. In a game that was plagued by high winds and rain, both offenses struggled lighting up the scoreboard. But that did not stop Edelman from seeing 12 targets in the game and amassing 93 of the team's 190 passing yards. The Patriots aerial attack is stalling right now but Edelman remains a consistent producer. The veteran heads into next week with 76 receptions for 809 yards and four touchdowns on the season.

Nov 22 6:43pm ET

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 22, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

Fantasy Spin: Edelman is on the injury report most weeks but has not missed any games. He continues to be the main option in the passing game for the Patriots and should be at least a No. 2 receiver in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 22 6:40pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will go up against a Cowboys Defense that is allowing the third fewest fantasy points to receivers this season. The Cowboys have allowed only six touchdowns to the position but Edelman should see tons of targets in this matchup. With Mohamed Sanu and Phillip Dorsett dealing with respective injuries, quarterback Tom Brady is certain to lean on his favorite receiver. Edelman leads the team with 68 receptions for 716 yards and will be a solid WR2 play in Week 12 even if heavy rain is in the forecast.

New England Patriots WR Phillip Dorsett (concussion), WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle), LB Ja'Whaun Bentley (knee), S Patrick Chung (heel, chest), DB Nate Ebner (ankle, back), WR Julian Edelman (shoulder), RB Damien Harris (hamstring) and DE John Simon (elbow) were limited in practice Friday, Nov. 22, and are listed as questionable for Week 12 versus the Dallas Cowboys. From TheHuddle

Nov 21 10:40pm ET

The New England Patriots won't be re-signing wide receiver Antonio Brown, according to a source. There were rumors circling that the Pats were looking at Brown again with Mohamed Sanu (ankle) potentially missing multiple games with a high ankle sprain. That's not the case, though, and Brown is highly unlikely to be signed with the NFL still investigating sexual-assault charges tied to Brown. Even after the investigation is up and if Brown avoids a suspension somehow, it's hard to say if an NFL team will take a chance on him in 2020. Julian Edelman and rookies N'Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers might be in three-receiver sets if both Sanu and Phillip Dorsett (concussion) don't play this weekend.
