Brissett attempted four passes as the top backup for the Colts last year. He should continue to fill that role going forward. Brissett has past starting experience and done pretty well in that role, making him valuable NFL backup. Brissett is a top athlete that can make all the throws. He moves around the pocket well and can make plenty of plays with this feet. He struggles with accuracy down the field, though, and tends to run too soon when in the pocket.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Luck is always an injury risk, so don't discount Brissett to start some games this year. And if that happens, he could help fantasy teams in the right matchup.
|No Playoff Match Up|
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett had a good matchup in Week 14, and he took advantage of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He finished the day 19-of-36 for 251 yards and two touchdowns. He also added four carries for 26 yards. Brissett has been without a number of receiving weapons this year due to injuries, but he was able to utilize the weapons he did have on Sunday afternoon. Brissett's matchups get difficult down the stretch, and he'll be trending downward with the Colts playoff hopes taking a major hit with the latest loss.
Indianapolis Colts QB Jacoby Brissett completed 19-of-36 passes for 251 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 14 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also ran for 26 yards.
Fantasy Spin: Brissett and the Colts face another favorable matchup for the pass game in New Orleans on Monday night in Week 15. He is a solid low-end QB1 for that favorable start.
Indianapolis Colts QB Jacoby Brissett completed 25-of-40 passes for 319 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the Week 13 loss against the Tennessee Titans.
Fantasy Spin: Brissett had his most passing yards since dropping 326 on the Texans back on Oct. 20, but he also has just two passing TDs with three interceptions and two rushing touchdowns across the past five outings. As such, he is more of a QB2 again in most fantasy leagues.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett got the ball moving in Week 13, as he went 25 of 40 for 319 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Brissett had thrown just four interceptions all season prior to this week's loss to the Tennessee Titans. Brissett and the remainder of the offense have bogged down significantly as of late, and that's limiting his fantasy ceiling on a weekly basis. Unless the offense is able to get rolling down the stretch, which is possible with some good matchups coming up, he still can't be counted on in fantasy.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett returned from his knee injury, and he's been quiet in both weeks. His starting wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (calf) is out for this game, and that significantly lowers the ceiling for Brissett, who will be throwing to multiple backups. For much of the first half of the season, Brissett was giving you QB2 value on a weekly basis, but you shouldn't count on that from him this week.
Indianapolis Colts QB Jacoby Brissett completed 16 of his 25 attempts for 129 yards against the Houston Texans on Thursday, Nov. 21. He also ran four times for 20 yards and touchdown.
Fantasy Spin: Given the depleted state of the Texans secondary, this performance can't be considered anything other than a massive disappointment, even taking into account Brissett's balky knee and limited availability of T.Y. Hilton. Brissett has had his moments this year -- including his first meeting with the Texans when he passed for 326 yards and four TDs -- but there have been far too many performances like Sunday night to trust him as a fantasy QB1 regardless of matchup.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett had his second straight game with under 150 passing yards in Week 12. He finished the night 16 of 25 for 129 yards. Thankfully for his fantasy owners, he scampered into the end zone on one of his four carries that went for a total of 20 yards. It was still a quiet night for Brissett, and he hasn't displayed the same level of production that we saw from him earlier in the season. He only has a couple of easy matchups remaining on the schedule, so his days as your starting quarterback may be numbered.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett has a matchup with the Houston Texans in Week 12, and he has the potential to have a big week. The Texans have the offense to put up a lot of points, but their defense has been suspect due to injuries and player moves. The Colts will be without running back Marlon Mack (hand), which will put more work on Brissett's shoulders. The Colts Defense has given up points at times this year, and they gave up 23 in the first matchup of these teams. Brissett and the team put up 30 in that matchup, and if wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (calf) is able to play, his ceiling shoots way up.
Indianapolis Colts QB Jacoby Brissett enters the Week 12 game Thursday, Nov. 21 against the Houston Texans with a 4-0 career record with seven touchdowns, no interceptions and a 107.2 passer rating, going 3-0 with the Colts and 1-0 as a member of the New England Patriots.
Fantasy Spin: Brissett will have the good fortune of not having to face J.J. Watt, since he is out for the remainder of the season, too. He's not a bad low-end QB1 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams, and it sounds like he'll have T.Y. Hilton back, too.
Indianapolis Colts QB Jacoby Brissett completed 15-of-24 passes for 148 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 11 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and he added a rushing score.
Fantasy Spin: Brissett was back under center after missing his team's last game due to a knee injury. He wasn't tasked with doing much since the Colts rushed for 264 yards (7.3 yards per attempt) with three touchdowns. The Colts have a quick turnaround with a Thursday battle in Houston looming in Week 12.
Indianapolis Colts QB Jacoby Brissett (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 15, and is not on the injury report for Week 11.
Fantasy Spin: Brissett will return to the lineup this week after a one-week absence but will be facing a tough Jacksonville Jaguars defense. He could be a starting option in two-quarterback leagues but should be avoided in standard leagues.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett (knee) is a full-go for Week 11 against the Jaguars and will be the starter under center. It's good news for the Colts after backup Brian Hoyer was a disaster in the embarrassing Week 10 loss to the Dolphins with Brissett out. Brissett's return is good news for anyone feeling bold enough to use receivers Zach Pascal or Chester Rogers with T.Y. Hilton (calf) missing another game. The matchup isn't bad for Brissett, but he'll be without his No. 1 receiver again and the Colts could continue to lean on the ground game. Brissett will be more of a midrange QB2 in his return.
Indianapolis Colts QB Jacoby Brissett (knee) will start in Week 11, the team announced Friday, Nov. 15.
Fantasy Spin: Brissett is good to go after getting injured and missing most of the Colts' Week 9 contest and then sitting out Week 10. He's a solid QB2 play against the Jaguars if you need him.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett (knee) is expected to start after missing last week's loss to the Miami Dolphins. After being a consistent QB2 for much of the season, he can't be trusted this week. He'll be without three of his top four wide receivers due to injuries, and he's playing against a defense that still has a fair bit of talent to make life difficult for him. With only four teams on a bye, there should be better streaming options available for this week than Brissett. Expect the Colts to lean heavily on the running game even with Brissett back in the fold.
Indianapolis Colts QB Jacoby Brissett (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 14.
Fantasy Spin: Brissett will return to the lineup after missing the last game because of his knee injury. He will be facing a good Jacksonville Jaguars defense and probably should only be a starting option in two-quarterback leagues.
Indianapolis Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox (hip), WR Parris Campbell (hand), CB Pierre Desir (hamstring), WR T.Y. Hilton (calf), RB Jordan Wilkins (ankle), WR Ashton Dulin (neck), S Malik Hooker (knee) and DE Jabaal Sheard (rest) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 14. TE Jack Doyle (shoulder) was upgraded to a limited session. S Clayton Geathers (rest), LB Darius Leonard (abdomen) and QB Jacoby Brissett (knee) practiced in full.
Indianapolis Colts QB Jacoby Brissett (knee) was able to take part in a full practice session Wednesday, Nov. 13. That was apparently a vital step for him to get back to his starting duties for Week 11 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. 'I'm assuming it's going to be good and barring any setback the rest of the week, he'll be the starter,' head coach Frank Reich confirmed.
Fantasy Spin: Obviously watch the injury report Thursday, and especially Friday. If Brissett suffered a setback it would be Brian Hoyer making another start. After losing to the lowly Miami Dolphins last week, the Colts probably hope it doesn't come to that.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett (knee) went through a full practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Frank Reich. Barring a setback, Brissett will return to game action in Week 11 against the Colts after sitting out the Week 10 loss to the Dolphins. He's dealing with a sprained MCL in his left knee, but the Colts were cautious with him and held him out last week. The Jaguars Defense isn't as tough without Jalen Ramsey in their secondary, but Brissett will be more of a low-end QB2 at likely less than 100 percent if he plays. Expect this run-first offense to continue to lean on Marlon Mack moving forward. Brissett could also be without top receiver T.Y. Hilton (calf) for another week.
Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts QB Jacoby Brissett (knee) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Fantasy Spin: Brissett is on track to start in Week 11 as long as he does not suffer a setback. He will be facing a good Jacksonville Jaguars defense and may only be a starting option in two-quarterback leagues.
Indianapolis Colts QB Jacoby Brissett (knee) will practice fully Wednesday, Nov. 13, and he'll start this weekend, barring any setbacks.
Fantasy Spin: It'll be a midrange matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They have a good pass rush, and coming off a knee injury, Brissett is a midrange QB2.
