Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (toe) has been working out with teammates this offseason, according to RB Adrian Peterson.

Fantasy Spin: Reed managed to play in 13 games last season, but it didn't translate into much production on the field. Between constant health issues and slipping per-game numbers, Reed is no more than a late-round lottery ticket heading into 2019.

Dec 27 12:53pm ET

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (toe) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list on Thursday, Dec. 27.

Fantasy Spin: It's to no one's surprise that Reed will end the season on IR as he's yet to play a full campaign in six pro seasons, but he did play in 13 games in 2018 -- the second most in his career. Reed did, though, only have 54 catches on 84 targets for 558 yards and two TDs -- way down from his last season with double-digit games played (89-66-686-6 in 12 games in 2016).

Dec 27 12:00pm ET

The Washington Redskins placed tight end Jordan Reed (toe) and quarterback Colt McCoy (leg) on Injured Reserve on Thursday. Despite staying healthy until the end and playing in 13 games this year, Reed underwhelmed his fantasy owners with 54 catches for 558 yards and two touchdowns. He never gained chemistry with quarterback Alex Smith and will be even less attractive going into 2019 with Washington's QB situation up in the air. McCoy started just two games before breaking his leg. For the 'Skins sake, hopefully he isn't consideration to be the starter next season.

Dec 27 11:53am ET

Free-agent DL Marcus Smith (Bills) was signed to an undisclosed deal by the Washington Redskins Thursday, Dec. 27. S Alex Carter was promoted from the practice squad. QB Colt McCoy (leg) and TE Jordan Reed were placed on the Reserve/Injured list.

Dec 26 7:43pm ET

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (ankle, foot) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Fantasy Spin: Reed hasn't played since Week 14, when he departed early in a contest against the Giants. Given his injury history and the fact he's still not practicing yet, it would seem Reed is closer to doubtful of suiting up in the season finale. Backup Vernon Davis (concussion) is also in danger of being inactive as well, making the Redskins' tight end situation one to avoid.

Dec 24 10:23am ET

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (foot, ankle) is unlikely to play in Week 17, and head coach Jay Gruden said Reed wasn't close to being able to play in Week 16.

Fantasy Spin: Vernon Davis had four grabs for 31 yards over the weekend, and he is a meager option at the position in the season finale.

Dec 22 3:13pm ET

The Washington Redskins have declared WR Maurice Harris, OG Shawn Lauvao, TE Jordan Reed, C Tony Bergstrom, OT Ty Nsekhe, QB Colt McCoy and RB Samaje Perine inactive for Week 16.

Dec 20 11:10pm ET

Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed (toe) has been ruled out for the second straight week in Week 16 against the Titans. With Washington's chances at a playoff spot hanging on by a thread, it's unlikely that the oft-injured Reed will play again this year. Vernon Davis is also questionable to play this weekend, so the 'Skins might be left with Jeremy Sprinkle as their top tight end. Sprinkle found the end zone last week but is more of a desperation TE2 if Davis sits.

Dec 20 3:53pm ET

Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins WR Jordan Reed (ankle, foot) has been ruled out for Week 16.

Fantasy Spin: This isn't a big surprise, but Vernon Davis will make his second straight start in Reed's absence, assuming he plays. That doesn't mean he should be started on fantasy squads, though. Avoid Davis in a tough matchup with the Tennessee Titans and a fourth-string quarterback throwing his way.

Dec 20 12:53pm ET

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (ankle, foot) was not spotted during the open portion of the team's practice Thursday, Dec. 20.

Fantasy Spin: This is Washington's "Friday" practice with a game on Saturday this week, so while nothing is official as of the moment, expect Reed to miss a second straight game.

Dec 19 2:00pm ET

Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed (toe) is missing practice for the second straight day on Wednesday. Reed missed the game last week and seems primed to finish the 2018 season on the sidelines given his extensive injury history, especially with his feet. Reed never got on the same page with quarterback Alex Smith this year, and his fantasy value could never recover when Smith broke his leg. Reed will go into next season as more of a TE2 target for fantasy owners. Vernon Davis is likely to close out the year as the pass-catching tight end, but he can't be trusted with Josh Johnson under center. This offense is a mess.

Dec 19 1:33pm ET

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (ankle, foot) did not practice for a second consecutive day Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Fantasy Spin: Reed is trending downward for Week 16. Those who are needy at the tight end position can take a chance on Vernon Davis, although he did not perform well in replace of Reed last week.

Dec 18 6:43pm ET

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (ankle, foot) was held out of practice Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Fantasy Spin: Reed faces an uphill battle to play, especially since the Redskins play on Saturday. If he can't go again then Vernon Davis has more appeal, but he can't be trusted with Josh Johnson at quarterback.

Dec 18 5:40pm ET

Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed (ankle, foot) remained sidelined during practice on Tuesday. Reed didn't play in Week 15 and seems unlikely to suit up on Saturday against the Titans. Even with Washington still technically in contention for a wild-card spot in the NFC, they might elect to hold the oft-injured Reed out for the rest of the season. Vernon Davis saw a bigger role last Sunday but had only two catches (three targets) for 16 yards. He can't be trusted with Josh Johnson leading the show for the 'Skins.

Dec 14 5:33pm ET

Washington Redskins LB Ryan Anderson (hamstring), C Tony Bergstrom (knee, ankle), QB Colt McCoy (fibula), S Montae Nicholson (illness), TE Jordan Reed (ankle, foot) and RB Chris Thompson (illness) did not practice Friday, Dec. 14 and each are listed as out for Week 15 against the Jacksonville Jaguars except for Nicholson and Thompson, who are questionable. Anderson was also removed from the injury report. OT Morgan Moses (ankle) and OT Ty Nsekhe (knee) were limited participants, with Moses off the report and Nsekhe listed as questionable. WR Jamison Crowder (ankle), LB Shaun Dion Hamilton (shoulder), RB Adrian Peterson (shoulder), C Chase Roullier (knee), CB Greg Stroman (shoulder), LS Nick Sundberg (back) and OT Trent Williams (thumb, wrist) practiced in full and were each removed from the report. WR Josh Doctson (concussion) and DL Matt Ioannidis (shin) are listed as questionable, too.

Dec 14 1:50pm ET

Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said that tight end Jordan Reed (toe) has been ruled out for Week 15 against the Jaguars. Given Reed's extensive injury history and with the Redskins having little chance at the playoffs, it wouldn't be surprising if Reed doesn't play again this year. Vernon Davis will take over the main pass-catching duties and will be a streaming TE2 option for those that are desperate.

From RotoBaller

Dec 14 1:43pm ET

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (ankle, foot) will not play in Week 15 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Spin: This should come as no surprise, as it has been speculated Reed could miss the rest of the season. Vernon Davis should be a full-time player in his place and should be stashed, but owners would have to be pretty brave to start him with the Redskins on their fourth quarterback behind an offensive line that has been decimated by injuries.

Dec 13 7:53pm ET

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (ankle, foot) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 13.

Fantasy Spin: Reed's status for the Week 15 game is uncertain at this point, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. He has been playing well this season but would have a tough matchup if he plays. Owners may want to look for other options to use because of the uncertain status.

Dec 12 12:33pm ET

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (toe) is out of practice Wednesday, Dec. 12.

Fantasy Spin: The injury isn't expected to be serious, but with Reed's injury history and the team's season down the drain, you have to wonder if he'll suit up against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Dec 10 3:13pm ET

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (foot) is reportedly not dealing with a serious foot injury, but he may not play again this season due to a foot sprain.

Fantasy Spin: Most fantasy owners probably would have been thrilled to get 13 games from Reed when they drafted him over the summer, but the season was a disappointment overall because he never seemed to be a high priority for Alex Smith over the first half of the season. He came on a bit in November when Colt McCoy made his way into the lineup, but that was short-lived. Vernon Davis will be the next man up, but he's a dicey investment with Josh Johnson set to finish the season under center.
