Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford is expected to serve as the No. 2 quarterback for the Vikings in the Divisional Round playoff game. QB Teddy Bridgewater understands he may be inactive for the game.

Jan 13 6:50pm ET

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford (knee) was activated from Injured Reserve to the 53-man roster Saturday. Tight end Kyle Carter was waived in a corresponding move. With Bradford active, it likely means that Teddy Bridgewater will be inactive on Sunday in the Divisional Round against the Saints, as head coach Mike Zimmer has never dressed three quarterbacks for a game. Bradford hasn't played since aggravating his knee in Week 5, and Case Keenum took over then and hasn't looked back.

Jan 13 12:53pm ET

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford was activated to the active roster Saturday, Jan. 13, after practicing each of the last two weeks without incident. TE Kyle Carter was waived in a corresponding move.

Jan 13 10:43am ET

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said he has not decided if QB Sam Bradford (knee) would be active for the team's Divisional Round playoff game against the New Orleans Saints Sunday, Jan. 14. He would have to be removed from the Reserve/Injured list and an adjustment to the 53-man roster would need to be made.

Jan 12 3:30pm ET

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford (knee) is expected to be active for the Divisional Round against the Saints, according to a league source. Bradford hasn't yet been activated from Injured Reserve and hasn't dressed for a game since Week 5. If Bradford is active, it's unclear if Teddy Bridgewater will dress. What is clear is that Case Keenum will be under center for as long as the Vikings are alive in the playoffs, but it'd be somewhat of a surprise if Bradford is active as the backup over Bridgewater after being hurt for most of the season.

Jan 12 2:30pm ET

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford (knee) is not expected to be active for the Divisional Round against the Saints, with Teddy Bridgewater likely serving as Case Keenum's backup. Bradford could dress as the No. 3 QB, but head coach Mike Zimmer has never dressed three quarterbacks in a game. Bradford also would still need to be activated from Injured Reserve. Bradford has resumed practicing in recent weeks, but he won't be starting over Keenum and is likely extremely rusty since his early season injury. Keenum will take the Vikes as far as he can in the postseason.

Jan 9 11:53am ET

Updating previous reports, Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) practiced two days last week and saw one-third of the repetitions, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. He's not expected to be above No. 3 on the depth chart.

Jan 9 11:20am ET

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford (knee, injured reserve) is working his way back and Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said the team will "take our time and see how it goes."Bradford returned to practice last week, opening up a three-week window for him to be activated, but it remains far from a certainty he returns to the active roster this season. Barring an injury, Case Keenum will be under center the rest of the way.

Jan 4 10:40am ET

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford (knee, injured reserve) said he is "just happy to be on the field." Bradford returned to practice Tuesday for the first time since undergoing a knee scope in early November. He said the knee "feels really good" right now, but he remains cautious about his future. "I don't know what the future holds for it, I don't know how it's going to hold up," Bradford said. "I think all you can do is try to get it as strong as possible, try to continue to rehab it and continue to gain strength back in my leg and in my knee." Bradford is unlikely to play in the postseason unless something happens to Case Keenum, but proving his health would help his value as he heads into free agency.

Jan 2 1:30pm ET

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford (knee) will return to practice Tuesday. Bradford last played on Sept. 11 before being put on Injured Reserve. The Vikes now have several weeks to decide whether they want to add Bradford to the roster over backup Teddy Bridgewater for the team's playoff run. There's zero chance Bradford is making starts over Case Keenum in the postseason, though.

Jan 1 6:23pm ET

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) will participate in practice this week, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. The Vikings have three weeks to activate Bradford from the Reserve/Injured list.

Dec 28 12:00pm ET

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford (knee, injured reserve) is expected to practice next week. Placed on injured reserve prior to Week 10, Bradford will be eligible to be activated following Week 17. It is not a given that happens, but it makes sense for the Vikings to give him a look in practice to see if he is a better backup option than Teddy Bridgewater. Once Bradford practices, Minnesota will have three weeks to activate him or leave him on injured reserve.

Dec 27 1:13pm ET

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer told reporters Wednesday, Dec. 27, that he expects QB Sam Bradford (knee) to be able to return to practice next week.

Dec 27 1:10pm ET

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said he expects quarterback Sam Bradford (knee) to resume practicing next week. However, the team is non-committal on him for the playoffs. We'd be shocked if the Vikings made a drastic change at quarterback with Case Keenum leading the team to a first-round bye in the NFC playoffs. Bradford performed well in the season opener but then was injured and didn't do anything for the rest of the season. Minnesota would be foolish to pull the plug on Keenum now and go in a different direction.

Dec 22 1:33pm ET

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford and Case Keenum aren't expected to receive the franchise tag this offseason, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Andrew Krammer.

Nov 8 11:50am ET

The Minnesota Vikings are expected to place quarterback Sam Bradford (knee) on Injured Reserve while activating Teddy Bridgewater (knee) from the Physically Unable to Perform list in a corresponding move. That will put Bradford out for the rest of the year after he underwent a knee scope Tuesday. Bradford may have already played his last snap with Minnesota, as he'll be a free agent at the end of the season. At 30 years old and with a history of knee problems, Bradford won't be very attractive. He can be dropped in all formats. Bridgewater will be eased back in and won't start in Week 10, but he's a good bet to make starts down the stretch and is a decent stash candidate in deeper leagues.

Nov 8 11:43am ET

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list Wednesday, Nov. 8. QB Sam Bradford (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list.

Nov 8 11:03am ET

Updating previous reports, Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) is expected to go on the Reserve/Injured list.

Nov 8 7:20am ET

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Tuesday. Per ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Dr. James Andrews "cleaned up" Bradford's knee in an effort to relieve "pain and discomfort." The Vikings are still weighing whether to place Bradford on injured reserve. With Case Keenum handling himself reasonably well and Teddy Bridgewater now available to the team, the Vikings would likely be burning a late-season roster spot on Bradford, anyway. No need to keep Bradford on your roster.

Nov 7 11:53pm ET

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in hopes of relieving pain and discomfort. The team is still reportedly deciding whether or not to place Bradford on the Reserve/Injured list - a move that would end his season.
