2019 RTSports Outlook

Gordon landed with the Patriots last year and seemed on his way to great things but had an-other hiccup off the field. He is suspended indefinitely. He could be reinstated before the season, during the season or after the season. It really isn't known at this point. He just needs to get himself clean and stay clean, which is easier said than done for Gordon, who has battled substance abuse since entering the league. The positive for Gordon was he played well with the Patriots, having 40 receptions for 720 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games. Gordon had two 100-yard games and at least four receptions seven games. The Patriots already resigned Gordon, so if he plays again, it will be with the Patriots. Gordon is a very talented player. He is a matchup nightmare for defenses because of his combination of size and speed.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Gordon is obviously a huge risk. He has a high ceiling if playing, though. He can post big numbers in this offense but you just never know what will happen with Gordon. He might be the biggest question mark in the draft. It all comes down to price tag for Gordon. If you can get him at a good price, he is worth the risk. If not, don't bother.

RotoBaller's Outlook

New England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon will get another shot at NFL redemption with the New England Patriots in 2019. Gordon was reinstated from the commissioners exempt list late in the preseason, but will get the chance to line up for the Patriots in Week 1. Gordon has flashed his extraordinary talent in the past, and was having success in New England prior to leaving the team last season. In 11 games he had 720 yards, with three touchdowns on 68 targets and 40 receptions. His catch% was not ideal, sitting below 60%, but it is always tough joining a team late and hopefully he built up enough rapport with Brady last season to improve that efficiency in 2019. If Gordon gets it right and can stay on the field he has the ability to be a must-start receiver every week, especially with Brady looking for a new touchdown threat without recently retired Rob Gronkowski. The value on Gordon right now is rising, but his history means that there is always a chance his current ADP will still present value come seasons end. However, beware it could all come crashing down very quickly.

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (knee) fully participate in practice Friday, Dec. 13, and is not on the injury report for Week 15.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon has caught only six passes in four games since joining the Seahawks and likely will not have a big role in the passing game this week. He can be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

Dec 13 6:03pm ET

Seattle Seahawks LB Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) and RB Rashaad Penny (knee) did not practice Friday, Dec. 13, and have been ruled out for Week 15 versus the Carolina Panthers. TE Luke Willson (hamstring) and CB Shaquill Griffin (hamstring) also did not participate in practice Friday but are listed as questionable. DE Jadeveon Clowney (core, illness) and DE Ziggy Ansah (neck) were limited in practice Friday and are also listed as questionable. DT Al Woods (ankle) did not practice Friday but is expected to play. OT Duane Brown (knee, biceps) was limited Friday but no longer appears on the injury report. FB Nick Bellore (quad), TE Jacob Hollister (thigh), OG Mike Iupati (neck), WR Tyler Lockett (shin), OG Jordan Roos (back), LB Cody Barton (knee, ankle), WR Josh Gordon (knee) and OT George Fant (knee) logged a full practice Friday and have also been removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Dec 12 8:23pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (knee) was listed as a full participant on the injury report for Thursday, Dec. 12.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon has been talked up by coaches this week as a player who could break out at any time. He's a very risky flex play against the Carolina Panthers, as he hasn't yet received enough work in the passing game.

From TheHuddle

Dec 11 3:53pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon 'has done really well,' according to head coach Pete Carroll Wednesday, Dec. 11. Carroll added Gordon 'could have a big game anytime.'

Fantasy Spin: Gordon received five targets against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14, matching his combined total from his first three games with the Seahawks. He's a high-risk play, but he could be used as a flex play by fantasy managers dealing with injuries.

From TheHuddle

Dec 9 3:03am ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon had two receptions for 34 yards on Sunday, Dec. 8, against the Los Angeles Rams.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon might pay dividends for the Seahawks at some point, but there's no way you can justify playing him in fantasy leagues right now.

From TheHuddle

Dec 3 3:20am ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Josh Gordon remains undefeated this season, but he was mostly a ghost again in Week 13. Gordon's timely release by New England and signing by Seattle means he's yet to personally take a loss, but he's also been relegated to a tiny role. Gordon caught every target slung his way once again, but unfortunately, it was just one. With Seattle's variety of receiving talent, Gordon simply can't find regular enough opportunities to be worth much in fantasy right now. There's some potential that he could become Pete Carroll's weekly star of choice at any moment, but for now, it's looking like the Seahawks are happy rolling with the primaries they've used all season.

From RotoBaller

Dec 3 12:43am ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon had one grab for 10 yards on his only target in Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon remains useful only in deeper fantasy leagues at this point. The Seahawks travel to meet the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14.

From TheHuddle

Nov 30 6:33pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (ankle) practiced in full Saturday, Nov. 30.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon was removed from the injury report and will play his third game with the Seahawks. He still isn't fully incorporated into the offense, as he received just two targets in each of his first two games with the team. He should be left on the bench in all but the deepest leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 30 1:20pm ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Josh Gordon has played a minor role so far since joining the team, but he could be in for a more central spot on Monday night against Minnesota. Tyler Lockett is one of a number of Seahawks that have been slowed down by an infection going around the locker room, and so he's questionable to play on Monday night. If he's not able to go, D.K. Metcalf will take over the top spot and Gordon will likely be thrust into a No. 2 spot that could be extremely important. With weeks of study of the playbook under his belt, it would be a great time for Gordon to put his stamp on a game.

From RotoBaller

Nov 29 8:03pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 29.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon has not been a big part in the passing game since joining the Seahawks but may receive a few targets this week. He could be a possible flex option in deeper leagues but probably can be avoided in most leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 28 6:23pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 28.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon has played in two games for the Seahawks and has been limited to three catches and 37 yards. He should be avoided in fantasy leagues until he is more involved in the passing game.

From TheHuddle

Nov 28 4:43pm ET

Seattle Seahawks FB Nick Bellore (quad), OT Duane Brown (biceps), TE Luke Willson (hamstring), DT Al Woods (ankle), DE Jadeveon Clowney (core), DT Jarran Reed (ankle), CB Neiko Thorpe (groin), OG Mike Iupati (neck) and LB Shaquem Griffin (illness) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 28. TE Jacob Hollister (toe), WR Tyler Lockett (shin), WR D.K. Metcalf (knee), WR Josh Gordon (ankle), Shaquill Griffin (non-injury), S Quandre Diggs (hamstring), LB K.J. Wright (shoulder, knee) and LB Bobby Wagner (non-injury) were limited. Seattle did not hold a practice Thursday, so all designations are estimates.

From TheHuddle

Nov 25 3:10am ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Josh Gordon was the focus of a lot of media speculation this week as everyone predicted big things for the ex-Patriot. Gordon caught a pair of clutch passes against San Francisco a week after he joined the Seahawks, so everyone figured that with two extra weeks of practice study, he'd likely play a bigger role in Sunday's game against the Eagles. Instead, it appears head coach Pete Carroll used Gordon as a lure. Carroll switched up the whole gameplan, giving Rashaad Penny carries in the backfield instead of Chris Carson, drawing up a flea flicker with a deep pass to Malik Turner instead of Tyler Lockett, and only having Gordon see two passes all day. That's one of the dangers of having a receiver on a team with a lot of options.

From RotoBaller

Nov 24 9:43pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon posted just one grab for 10 yards on two targets in Week 12 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon is still acclimating to Seattle and learning the playbook, so you can expect his presence to be fairly limited until he fully learns the offense. He remains more of a WR4 or flex fantasy play in leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings.

From TheHuddle

Nov 22 9:40pm ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Josh Gordon came up big with a pair of critical catches against San Francisco two weeks ago, and now he'll get the chance to show what he can do once he learns an offense. Gordon will enter the week as Seattle's No. 3 receiver, and head coach Pete Carroll told reporters that there will be no restrictions on his snaps this time around. He'll still likely struggle to get looks since Tyler Lockett, D.K. Metcalf, Jacob Hollister, and Chris Carson will all be active, but he could find himself with some favorable matchups while those other guys are distracting Philly's top defenders. He's still a long shot because of the amount of options available to Russell Wilson, but Seahawks fans are hoping this is the beginning of something big.

From RotoBaller

Nov 21 7:33pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (ankle) practiced in full Thursday, Nov. 21.

Fantasy Spin: It was a second straight full go for Gordon. He failed to make an impact in his first game with the Seahawks in Week 10, but he did catch both of his targets. He should be more involved coming out of the bye week in a great matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

From TheHuddle

Nov 20 7:53pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon was limited to two catches and 27 yards in his last game but has a chance to be more involved in the passing game this week. He could be a possible flex option in deeper leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 12 3:30am ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Josh Gordon got to play in his first game with the team on Monday night and made a small but critical impact when he caught a pair of passes late in the game. Both catches came on third downs and got the respective first downs. Gordon looked like he was in ridiculous shape, but it will take a couple more games for his role to really be fleshed out. An injury to Tyler Lockett (leg contusion) possibly opens up some more opportunities, and a handy bye week next Sunday will allow Gordon some extra time to learn the playbook. He could still be useful yet.

From RotoBaller

Nov 12 12:33am ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon finished with two grabs for 27 yards on two targets in his team debut in Week 10 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon was used in some key situations, especially late in the game for a critical first down, but he was also taken off the field in critical situations when the team might have called for a play he was unfamiliar after just recently joining the team. He'll have two weeks to acclimate with the team off next week.

From TheHuddle

Nov 11 7:13pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (ankle) is officially active for the team's Week 10 game.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon has been with the Seahawks for a little over a week, so he may see limited snaps this week against the San Francisco 49ers. Fantasy players probably should see him play in a game before considering him as a starting option.
