Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson had his first multi-interception game since Week 7 in last week's loss to the Denver Broncos, but he should be positioned to rebound in Week 15 against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans are tied for the 10th-most interceptions in the league, but they're right in the middle of the pack in fantasy points allowed per game to opposing passers. Watson is the fantasy QB2 on the season, so you should feel confident starting him this week, even with the lingering bad memories of that Broncos game dancing around in your head.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson completed 28 of his 50 passes for 292 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions and rushed six times for 44 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-24 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 14.
Fantasy Spin: Despite the turnovers, Watson finished with a strong line for fantasy owners thanks to a couple of rushing scores. His ability to create big plays with his arm and his legs gives Watson top-five upside every time out.
The Houston Texans were embarrassed on Sunday by the Denver Broncos, but quarterback Deshaun Watson somehow managed to salvage his fantasy day thanks to his legs. Watson finished the game 28-for-50 throwing the ball for 292 yards, a touchdown, and a pair of interceptions. He also added two rushing scores on six carries, finishing with 44 yards on the ground. This was a tough matchup for Watson, but he's still a fantasy QB1 moving forward because of his ability to do the things we saw him do in this one.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is currently the fantasy QB4, and while his opponent this Sunday -- the Denver Broncos -- are allowing the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing passers this season, you've still got to trust Watson and deploy him as your starting fantasy quarterback. He's coming off a strong performance against New England's league-best defense in which he threw for three touchdowns and also caught one on an option play, so we've definitely seen Watson succeed in tough spots.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 18-of-25 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns in the Texans Week 13 win over the New England Patriots. Watson shined in prime time, adding a touchdown catch on a trick play in the fourth quarter to an already impressive performance. Watson spread the ball around all night long, tossing touchdowns to three different players, and proved to be extremely efficient against the league's top defensive unit. Watson will have another tough secondary to deal with in Week 14 when the Texans travel to Denver to take on the Broncos. Fantasy owners can confidently slot him in as a QB1 for that matchup.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson finished 18-of-25 for 234 yards and three touchdowns in Week 13 versus the New England Patriots. He also added a 6-yard receiving score on a trick play.
Fantasy Spin: Watson spread the wealth around in this one as no receiver topped 64 yards. With that said, it might have been one of the best games of his career, consistently taking what he could get underneath against zone coverage and taking smart chances while beating man coverage. Watson has another tough matchup in Week 14 against the Denver Broncos, but he's a good bet for top-five production again if he can play at the same level he did against the Patriots.
While Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is a weekly QB1 option, you might be tempted to sit him on Sunday when the Texans face the league's best defense, the New England Patriots. No team allows fewer fantasy points per game to opposing passers, and on the year QBs have thrown four touchdowns and 20 interceptions against this team. Starting your studs is good advice and there are definitely a lot of guys who you wouldn't bench Watson for, but it's fair to think of him as a low-end QB1 this week instead of the high-end QB1 that he usually is.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson played better against the Colts on Thursday, finishing the night with nearly 300 yards and two touchdowns (one interception) on 19-for-30 passing. After struggling during the Week 11 blowout loss to the Ravens, it was an acceptable showing from the 24-year-old. He has struggled to some degree over his last six outings, and while he has thrown for nine touchdowns during that span, he has also thrown six picks after tossing just one throughout the first five games of the year. Things aren't looking good moving ahead, nonetheless, as Watson and the Texans will host the Patriots in Week 13.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (ankle) completed 19 of 30 passes for 298 yards, two touchdowns and an interception during the team's Week 12 win over the Indianapolis Colts. He added 10 yards on three carries.
Fantasy Spin: It was nice bounce back performance for Watson, who struggled badly against the Ravens his last time out. The Clemson product was able to work the ball downfield with DeAndre Hopkins and a returning Will Fuller, and he made plays at the end to keep Indy from getting the ball back. He'll get a little extra rest before a prime time showdown with New England. Despite the tough matchup, Watson remains a QB1.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is coming off one of his worst games of the season, a 169-yard performance in Week 11 against the Ravens in which the third-year passer threw for a pick and no touchdowns. He looks to get back on track on Thursday against the Colts in what could be another tough one for Watson. Last time these teams played, Watson threw for 308 yards and a touchdown, but he also tossed a pair of interceptions and had just 32 rushing yards. Fantasy owners probably can't justify sitting a quarterback with Watson's upside, but don't be surprised if he doesn't finish as a fantasy QB1 this week.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (ankle) remained a full participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 20, and is good to go for the game Thursday, Nov. 21, against the Indianapolis Colts.
Fantasy Spin: Watson never seemed to be at risk of missing any time through the week and is cleared to be used as a high-end QB1 in Week 12.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (ankle) stayed on the practice report Tuesday, Nov. 19, as a full participant. The report was an estimation.
Fantasy Spin: There shouldn't be any concern over Watson's status heading into an important Week 12 game against the rival Indianapolis Colts. He's coming off his worst performance of the season but remains a high-tier QB1.
Houston Texans S Mike Adams (concussion), CB Lonnie Johnson (ankle) and S Justin Reid (concussion, shoulder) did not participate in practice Tuesday, Nov. 19. LB Dylan Cole (knee), WR Will Fuller (hamstring), S Tashaun Gipson (back), OL Tytus Howard (knee) and CB Bradley Roby (hamstring) were limited. QB Deshaun Watson (ankle) practiced in full. The Texans will only hold a walkthrough Tuesday night, so the injury report is an estimation.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson (ankle) was listed as a full participant in Monday's estimated practice report after tweaking his ankle in the Week 11 blowout loss to the Ravens. Watson had a tough time of it last Sunday against Baltimore, but he should bounce back on a short week against the Colts this Thursday, especially if he gets deep threat Will Fuller (hamstring) back. Houston's offensive line hasn't helped Watson and he has his duds, but he's a must-start fantasy quarterback each and every week. What he brings with his legs gives him even more upside.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (ankle) fully participated in practice Monday, Nov. 18. The Texans did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation.
Fantasy Spin: Watson is coming off one of his worst games of the season and will look to rebound against the Indianapolis Colts. He threw for 308 yards and one touchdown against the Colts earlier this season and can be a No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues this week.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson struggled immensely in Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens, throwing for just 169 yards on 18-for-29 passing. Watson threw an interception and didn't throw for a touchdown. In the run game, Watson added 12 yards on three carries. It was a disaster of a game for Watson in what was billed as a showdown of two of the NFL's best young quarterbacks and was a reminder of what can happen when Houston's offensive line issues stand out. Watson is still a fantasy QB1 going forward, but Sunday did show that he isn't always going to be able to put up huge numbers.
Houston Texas QB Deshaun Watson completed 18-of-29 passes for 169 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens and he added 12 rushing yards while also losing a fumble.
Fantasy Spin: Watson and the Texans offense were unable to get anything going, as Houston fell behind early and they never were able to recover. It's a quick turnaround for the Texans, as they host the Colts on Thursday night.
Houston Texans left tackle Laremy Tunsil (shoulder) is expected to play in Week 11 against the Ravens, according to a source. Tunsil missed the Week 9 game but was able to heal up during the Week 10 bye. His presence is great news for the protection of quarterback Deshaun Watson in what is expected to be a high-scoring affair between two potent offenses. As usual, Watson will be a top-five fantasy quarterback on Sunday despite not having wide receiver Will Fuller in the fold.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson should have plenty of opportunities to score fantasy points this week despite a tough matchup at Baltimore. Watson is averaging over eight yards per throw this season and should pass well over 30 times this weekend with Vegas listing the Texans as an underdog in a game with a projected point total over 50 points. The Ravens are top-10 in fewest fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks, but Watson is talented enough he has a safe floor in any matchup, especially given his ability to contribute in the run game. He's a must-start QB despite the tough matchup.
The Houston Texans are optimistic that left tackle Laremy Tunsil (shoulder) will return in Week 11 against the Ravens after the team's Week 10 bye. Tunsil was a late scratch in London against the Jaguars in Week 9. Baltimore's defense has improved with the addition of cornerback Marcus Peters and the healthy return of veteran Jimmy Smith, so Houston's passing game will have a challenge when they come off their bye. Having Tunsil on the blind side will be good news for quarterback Deshaun Watson, though.
