2019 RTSports Outlook

Eifert broke his ankle last year and missed the last 12 games of the season. He had 15 receptions for 179 yards in the four games he played. So if he plays a full year, Eifert has 60 receptions for 716 yards and four touchdowns. Eifert is yet to play a full season in his six-year NFL career. He has just one big season because of his injury issues. Eifert is back with the Bengals and will serve as their starter once again. Eifert is a tall tight end that is very athletic. He can stretch the field with his speed and has good hands to make the tough catch. He lacks a little bulk, though, and isn't much of a blocker for the tight end spot.

FANTASY OUTLOOK:   Eifert has all sorts of potential but his injury history hurts his overall fantasy value. Consider him more of a top No. 2 tight end. You can't take him any higher because of his injury concerns. Expect around 50 receptions for 600 yards and six or so touchdowns.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Tyler Eifert had one of the more gruesome injuries in 2018 when he fractured his ankle in Week 4. He obviously missed the rest of the season and took time off to rehab said ankle. Eifert has a history of injuries, most notably his low back and elbow. Last year was the third time in his NFL career that hes had a serious injury in September that caused him to miss the remainder of the season. So, can we trust Eifert this year now that hes participating fully in OTAs? That decision is obviously yours but with his injury history, common sense would tell us to wait and see if you can get him off waivers if he shows promise. On a positive note, the Cincinnati offense will now have HC Zac Taylor, who is the latest brainchild of Sean McVay, at the helm of the offense where he will certainly increase the creativity of the Bengals offense. Gerald Everett and Tyler Higbee were each productive in their own right in 2018 and if Eifert can stay healthy, the new head coach will find ways to get him the ball. In the offense we expect Taylor to run, the TE is rarely the focus and the Bengals offense should be a heavy dose of Joe Mixon, A.J. Green, and 2018 breakout Tyler Boyd with John Ross taking the top off defenses. Theres some upside here for Eifert but thats been said before. If he can stay healthy, he should finish as a TE2.

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Fantasy Spin: Eifert has been held to under 30 yards in nine of his 10 games this season and probably can be avoided in fantasy leagues this week.

From TheHuddle

Nov 17 9:10pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert caught three of his four targets for 21 yards in Week 11 against the Raiders. The Bengals managed to move the ball well on the ground in the game, but quarterback Ryan Finley struggled mightily through the air, completing just 13 passes. Eifert has some value in deep leagues but Finley's inexperience and struggles make him hard to trust as a starter for now. Eifert has failed to top 25 receiving yards in five of his past six games, which is a very uninspiring trend.

From RotoBaller

Nov 16 10:00am ET

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert looks to score another touchdown in Week 11 against Oakland. The veteran has been virtually absent all season, and though he scored during the loss to the Ravens last Sunday, it was only his second end zone trip of the year. With only two games this season in which he has recorded at least five receptions, he is still a semi-suitable streaming option despite going up against a tough Raiders Defense, but only in deeper formats.

From RotoBaller

Nov 15 4:43pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 15, and is not on the injury report for Week 11.

Fantasy Spin: Eifert played well a few weeks ago but has been quiet for most of the season. He probably should be avoided in all leagues this week.

From TheHuddle

Nov 14 8:13pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 14.

Fantasy Spin: Eifert had a big game a few weeks ago but has not been a big factor in the passing game for much of the season. Fantasy players probably can find better options for their lineup and can avoid Eifert.

From TheHuddle

Nov 14 4:43pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals DT Geno Atkins (knee), WR A.J. Green (ankle), CB Dre Kirkpatrick (knee), OG Alex Redmond (knee, ankle) and TE Drew Sample (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 14. WR Alex Erickson (back) and OT Bobby Hart (shoulder) were limited. TE Tyler Eifert (rest) was a full participant.

From TheHuddle

Nov 13 3:13pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Fantasy Spin: Eifert picked up his second touchdown of the season last week but has posted 20 yards or less in four of the last five games. He will see some targets this week, but fantasy players in most leagues can find better options for their lineups.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 6:00pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert had two catches (four targets) for 20 yards and a touchdown during the loss to the Ravens in Week 10. Though the veteran has disappointed with his lack of production this season, he accounted for rookie quarterback Ryan Finley's only score of the day by bringing in a six-yard reception late in the second quarter. His trip to the end zone helped offset what would have been another miserable performance, but he should continue to be a threat in the red zone, at the very least moving ahead, making him a suitable streaming option in deeper formats.

From RotoBaller

Nov 10 4:43pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert finished with two grabs for 20 yards and a touchdown on four targets in Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Spin: Eifert used to be a tremendous red-zone target before a bevy of injuries crushed his fantasy appeal. If he could stay healthy, he has the potential to be a strong fantasy option, but that's a huge 'if'. Treat him more as a low-end TE2 heading into Week 11 on the road against the Raiders.

From TheHuddle

Nov 8 6:03pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 10.

Fantasy Spin: Eifert posted 74 yards in his last game and could be a popular target for the team's new quarterback. He may not be a starting option this week because of the tough matchup but could be a starting option later in the season.

From TheHuddle

Nov 8 3:03pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (ankle), CB Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) and OG Alex Redmond (knee, ankle) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens. OT Cordy Glenn (concussion) practiced in full all week but is listed as questionable. TE Tyler Eifert (non-injury), CB Darqueze Dennard (hamstring), DE Carl Lawson (hamstring) and OG John Miller (groin) also fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 8, and have been removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Nov 7 6:03pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 7.

Fantasy Spin: Eifert caught six passes for 74 yards in Week 8 and could be a popular target for Ryan Finley in his first career start. He can be a possible bye week replacement or low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 6 3:33pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (non-injury) didn't practice Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Fantasy Spin: Eifert had his best game of the season in Week 8, before Cincinnati's bye. He's an option in 12-team leagues due to the shallow nature of the TE position, but the Bengals' quarterback situation will provide inconsistent results.

From TheHuddle

Oct 29 2:33pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert has drawn interest from multiple teams leading up to the trade deadline, and the New England Patriots are among the teams who have shown the most interest, according to The Athletic's Jeff Howe.

From TheHuddle

Oct 27 5:53pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert posted six grabs for 74 yards on nine targets in Week 8 against the Los Angeles Rams in London.

Fantasy Spin: Eifert was productive, but fantasy owners will want to see more consistency before trusting him again. They won't see anything until Week 10, as the Bengals are off in Week 9 for the bye.

From TheHuddle

Oct 27 5:30pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert was targeted nine times against the Rams in London, finishing the day with six catches for 74 yards. After an uneventful season, the veteran had his best performance to date, especially in PPR formats, and had as many receptions as he had in his previous five games combined. Though this was an encouraging sign, Eifert has a way to go before he can be trusted, but with another reliable performance or two, he could earn his way back into starting lineups in deeper formats. But for now, he is worth a stash if you have some space.

From RotoBaller

Oct 27 11:13am ET

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert could be moved before the trade deadline, but the Bengals likely would ask for a third-round draft choice in return.

Fantasy Spin: Eifert has not done much in the Bengals passing game this season but could be more productive with a new team. Eifert likely will remain with the Bengals past the trade deadline and can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 27 11:00am ET

The Cincinnati Bengals aren't looking to make any trades before next week's deadline, but tight end Tyler Eifert has the best chance of being dealt, and the Bengals would likely ask for a third-round pick in return. Eifert has managed to stay healthy in 2019, but with the winless Bengals offense struggling as a whole with wide receiver A.J. Green (ankle) still injured, Eifert has been a non-factor in real life and in fantasy. A trade to a team like the Saints would surely boost his fantasy value significantly, but until that happens he's a mediocre TE2.

From RotoBaller

Oct 26 1:10am ET

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert has yet to impress in 2018, with that trend expected to continue on Sunday against the Rams. The veteran has just four receptions for 23 yards over the last few weeks, and with rumblings of a trade, Eifert may not have a sizable role in the team's offensive gameplan. Keep him sitting in Week 8.

From RotoBaller

Oct 25 3:13pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals CB Darqueze Dennard (hamstring), DE Carl Lawson (hamstring), CB Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) and OT Cordy Glenn (concussion) did not practice Friday, Oct. 25, and has been ruled out for Week 8 versus the Los Angeles Rams. WR A.J. Green (ankle) was a limited participant in practice all week but has also been ruled out. OG John Miller (groin) and OT Andre Smith (ankle) were also limited in practice all week but are listed as questionable. TE Tyler Eifert (non-injury), DE Carlos Dunlap (knee), DE Andrew Brown (ankle), CB William Jackson III (shoulder) and CB Torry McTyer (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
