2019 RTSports Outlook

Despite playing a backup role, Goedert was 20th overall in fantasy tight end scoring. He got some weekly chances and made some big plays hit rookie season. He had 10 games with multiple receptions but did top 50 yards just once. He was a solid red-zone target, getting four scores on the season. Goedert is expected to serve a similar role this season, being the top backup to Zach Ertz. Goedert is a big tight end that blocks well along the line but also can make plays in the passing game. He is a big target that does well with contested catches.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Goedert is tough play because he is a touchdown dependent player at this stage of his career. His value would be huge if Ertz were to get injured, though. But for now, consider him a low-end No. 2 fantasy receiver. He could improve a little on last year, getting around 40 receptions for 400 yards with four or five touchdowns.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Its not often that an NFL team can maintain multiple fantasy-relevant tight ends, but the Philadelphia Eagles could be added to that short list in 2019. Everyone knows about Zach Ertz, who should once again finish as a top-three fantasy tight end, but Dallas Goedert has a chance to put up solid numbers in his second NFL season. Last year, Goedert caught 33 passes for 334 yards and four touchdowns. Goederts likely to see an increase in snaps this season as the Eagles try to get both him and Ertz on the field together more, and his receiving skills give him a good shot to make the most of his time on the field. It wouldnt be a shock to see Goedert somewhere in the 500-yard range with six or seven touchdowns, numbers that arent going to put him at the top of the tight end position, but do make him a solid streaming option for fantasy owners. Of course, so much depends on the health of quarterback Carson Wentz, whose injury track record is concerning, especially with the team no longer having backup quarterback Nick Foles to keep the offense running. Theres plenty of risk to Goedert and not the top-level upside of some other tight ends, but he should provide fantasy owners with solid production and a decent weekly floor.

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert could have some sneaky value despite working behind Zach Ertz in Week 7. The Eagles will hit the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys, who have featured a prime pass defense so far this season. Their one weak spot has been limiting opposing tight ends, so there could be enough for Ertz and Goedert to both be heavily involved. Goedert drew eight targets last week after seeing just 10 in the previous five weeks combined. He's a strong start in two-tight end leagues and a dart throw with upside in standard formats.

From RotoBaller

Oct 13 9:10pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert caught five passes in Week 6, gaining 48 yards. He was targeted eight times, and was much more involved than he'd been in previous games, with Zach Ertz seeing just one more target. Goedert is about due for a "blow up" game, but his usage remains too inconsistent to be anything more than a TE2, even with how weak the position has been in fantasy this year.

From RotoBaller

Oct 13 6:03pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert caught five passes for 48 yards against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6. He was targeted eight times during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Goedert posted more yards this week than he did in his first four games and appeared to be a popular target in the passing game. His role in the passing game probably will change next week and may not be a great fantasy option.

From TheHuddle

Oct 9 12:40pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is a low-upside TE2 option in a Week 6 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Goedert has been mostly quiet this season, playing a supporting role behind Zach Ertz. Goedert has not been targeted more than three times in a game this season, and won't have any standard league value as long as Ertz remains healthy. For two-tight end leagues, Goedert is a depth piece at best.

From RotoBaller

Oct 6 5:40pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert caught just one pass in Week 5, gaining 11 yards. Goedert played way behind starter Zach Ertz, and while he has the talent to be a solid tight end in fantasy, he won't see nearly enough targets unless Ertz misses time. Goedert is a wait-and-see fantasy asset, but not a consistently startable option right now, even in two-tight end leagues.

From RotoBaller

Oct 2 3:00pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is only an option in deep leagues and two-tight end formats in Week 5. Even though the New York Jets Defense struggles in the passing game, they actually cover opposing tight ends fairly well. Like usual, Zach Ertz will get most of the tight end targets, leaving Goedert as a touchdown-dependent option with a low floor. He's near the back of the TE2 ranks in Week 5.

From RotoBaller

Sep 27 1:03am ET

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert caught two balls for 16 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 4 win over the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Spin: Goedert's return probably helped the running game more than anything, but he made the most of his chances with an easy TD catch. He's not worth playing at this point, but he could be worth carrying if you have a large reserve roster.

From TheHuddle

Sep 27 12:20am ET

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert scored a touchdown in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers. Goedert made two catches, gaining 16 yards. His score came on a short three-yard strike from Carson Wentz. Goedert is a very talented receiver, but he won't have consistent enough targets unless something happens to Zach Ertz. Goedert makes for an excellent dynasty stash or a handcuff in deeper formats.

From RotoBaller

Sep 25 2:23pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (calf) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 25, and is not on the injury report for Week 4.

Fantasy Spin: Goedert has not been a big part of the passing game over the first three games and should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Sep 25 11:50am ET

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is expected to play in Week 4, but won't be more than a desperation option in most standard formats. Even in two-TE leagues, Goedert is a risky play. Taking on a Green Bay Packers Defense that defends well against opposing tight ends, Goedert will take his customary backseat to starter Zach Ertz. Goedert is an Ertz injury away from legitimate TE1 status, but for now he's more of a handcuff than anything else.

Philadelphia Eagles CB Ronald Darby (hamstring), WR DeSean Jackson (abdomen) and DT Timmy Jernigan (foot) did not practice Tuesday, Sept. 24. RB Corey Clement (shoulder) and DE Derek Barnett (ankle) were limited. WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside (heel), OT Andre Dillard (knee), LB Nathan Gerry (calf, knee), TE Dallas Goedert (calf), WR Alshon Jeffery (calf), LB Kamu Grugier-Hill (knee) and QB Nate Sudfeld (wrist) fully participated in practice.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (calf) is expected to play in Week 4 Thursday, Sept. 24.

From TheHuddle

Sep 24 1:30pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said that wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (calf) and tight end Dallas Goedert (calf) are both expected to play on Thursday against the Packers. DeSean Jackson (groin) is expected to miss his second straight game, and rookie J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (heel) is also banged up. Jeffery should be back in the lineup after missing a game, but he'll be more of a WR3 coming off injury against a strong Packers secondary. Expect Nelson Agholor and Mack Hollins to join Jeffery in three-receiver sets. Goedert dropped a potential long touchdown in Week 3 and didn't play all that much, making him one to avoid as a TE2 behind Zach Ertz.

From RotoBaller

Sep 23 5:13pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (calf) was limited during practice Monday, Sept. 23. The Eagles did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation.

Fantasy Spin: Goedert was targeted only one time in the Week 3 game and can be avoided in all leagues even if he plays this week.

From TheHuddle

Sep 22 12:03pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (calf) is active for Week 3's game against the Detroit Lions.

From TheHuddle

Sep 22 9:23am ET

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (calf) reportedly looked better at practice Saturday, Sept. 21, and is currently considered a pregame decision for Week 3's contest against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Spin: Goeder had been listed as questionable on the injury report after participating in one practice session during the week on a limited basis. Fantasy owners should be able to find better options even if he is active for the game.

From TheHuddle

Sep 20 3:30pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (calf) and tight end Dallas Goedert (calf) are both listed as questionable for Week 3 against the Lions. Both are shaping up to be game-time decisions Sunday morning. DeSean Jackson (groin) was ruled out earlier on Friday, so it could be Nelson Agholor, Mack Hollins and rookie J.J. Arcega-Whiteside in three-receiver sets this weekend. If Jeffery winds up playing, he could simply be a decoy and would likely have his snaps limited. Agholor and tight end Zach Ertz figure to be targeted heavily either way. Goedert isn't on the TE2 radar even if he's active. Stay tuned Sunday morning for their official statuses.

From RotoBaller

Sep 20 3:23pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB Corey Clement (shoulder), WR DeSean Jackson (abdomen), DT Timmy Jernigan (foot) and OT Jordan Mailata (back) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 20, and have been ruled out for Week 3 against the Detroit Lions. LB Kamu Grugier-Hill (knee) was limited in practice Friday and is listed as doubtful. TE Dallas Goedert (calf) was also limited in practice Friday but is listed as questionable. WR Alshon Jeffery (calf) did not practice, while QB Nate Sudfeld (wrist) was a full participant; both are listed as questionable. S Johnathan Cyprien (knee) and S Rudy Ford (hamstring) were also limited in practice, while DE Derek Barnett (shoulder), DT Fletcher Cox (toe) and LB Nathan Gerry (knee, calf) were full participants in practice; all five were removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Sep 20 12:30pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson is holding out hope that wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (calf) and tight end Dallas Goedert (calf) can play in Week 3 against the Lions. Jeffery hasn't practiced all week, and both players look doubtful to suit up on Sunday, so you should make plans to be without them. DeSean Jackson has already been ruled out, which would make Nelson Agholor the top receiver if Jeffery is also inactive. Mack Hollins and rookie J.J. Arcega-Whiteside would see increased roles as well. Arcega-Whiteside is the more attractive target off the waiver wire in the short term over Hollins. Expect tight end Zach Ertz and Agholor to be targeted heavily this weekend.

S Rudy Ford (hamstring) and LB Kamu Grugier-Hill (knee) were limited.
