Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (shoulder) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Dec. 25. DT Xavier Williams (ankle) was activated from the IR in a corresponding move, according to a source.
Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (shoulder) 'tweaked' his shoulder but continued to play in Week 16 against the Chicago Bears.
Fantasy Spin: Ware, who got the start, left in the fourth quarter after rushing for 14 yards on five carries and added 22 yards receiving. Regardless of whether he continues to start in Week 17 and/or the postseason, he possesses virtually no fantasy upside.
Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware (shoulder) was not able to get much going against the Chicago Bears in Week 16. He went down in the fourth quarter due to a shoulder injury, but wasn't able well before that. He rushed five times for 14 yards and caught two passes for 22 yards through the air. Damien Williams handled most of the carries, while veteran LeSean McCoy was a healthy scratch. It's unclear whether or not Ware will suit up against the Chargers in Week 17. He belongs on the waiver wire in most formats regardless if he plays in the regular season finale.
Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware was signed just a few weeks ago and has already made an impact on the field. Ware wasn't able to do enough on the field to warrant ownership in basically any formats. Damien Williams (ribs) return for the Week 16 matchup in Chicago basically kills any fantasy value Ware might have gained. It's unclear if Ware will be in the Chiefs' gameplan going forward. Williams, LeSean McCoy, and Darwin Thompson should be ahead of him on the depth chart. He'll be someone to avoid in basically every format for the Week 16 contest versus the Bears.
Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware was signed by the team roughly two weeks ago and is already making an impact on the field. Ware rushed seven times for 26 yards in the victory over the Denver Broncos. However, the Chiefs have a running back committee, so Ware has handcuffed fantasy value. Both LeSean McCoy and Darwin Thompson are going to see carries each week. He's not someone worth owning in basically any format. He'll have a tough matchup against the Bears Defense in Week 16.
Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware rushed for 26 yards on seven carries against the Denver Broncos in Week 15. He also caught two passes for nine yards during the game.
Fantasy Spin: Ware has received only a handful of touches in the two games since signing with the Chiefs and should not be a starting option in any fantasy league.
Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware was signed by the organization earlier this week after multiple injuries in the backfield. Damien Williams (ribs) is week to week, while Darrel Williams (hamstring) is done for the season. Ware was with the Chiefs in 2015-2018, but will battle with LeSean McCoy and Darwin Thompson for playing time. Ware surprisingly made his season debut on Sunday, despite being signed just a few days before the game. He rushed five times for 11 yards in the Week 14 victory over the Patriots. He's going to be stuck in a running back committee, so fantasy owners shouldn't bother with Ware. He could be worth a look in the deepest of leagues, but he likely won't see more than a handful of carries per game.
Free-agent RB Spencer Ware signed with the Kansas City Chiefs Tuesday, Dec. 3. WR Gehrig Dieter was released in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Spin: Ware ran for 246 yards and two touchdowns for the Chiefs over 13 games in 2018. Chiefs RBs Damien Williams and Darrel Williams are both battling injuries, but Ware would still need to outcompete LeSean McCoy and Darwin Thompson. He isn't a fantasy consideration at this stage.
Free-agent RB Spencer Ware (Colts) is working out for the Arizona Cardinals Monday, Oct. 21.
Indianapolis Colts RB Spencer Ware (ankle) was released from the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Sept. 20, and will be allowed to sign with another team next week, according to a source.
