Thielen had a career year, finishing seventh overall in fantasy receiver scoring. He was the top fantasy receiver about half the season before fading a little down the stretch. Thielen had eight straight 100-yard games to start his season but just one more the rest of the way. But even with that said, he still had double-digit fantasy points all but two games. He had at least five receptions 13 of 16 games. He had more than 100 receptions for the first time in his career. Thielen has two straight seasons with 90-plus catches and 1,200-plus yards. He is a top option in the Vikings pass-first offense. Thielen just makes plays. He runs top routes and can be a big-play threat despite lacking some top-end speed for the position. He has plus hands and a knack for making clutch plays. Fantasy Outlook: Thielen is a top-10 fantasy receiver. He gets a high-volume of receptions and will post good yard-age numbers. The only knock is a lack of scores, failing to have double-digit touchdowns any season. It wouldn't surprise if that changes this year if the Vikings get more consistent play from Kirk Cousins. Thielen can get 100-plus receptions, 1,300 yards and around 10 scores.
Thielen is slotted right in that third tier of WR next to Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen, and T.Y. Hilton. This is a deep year at receiver and all of these guys are either high-upside or extremely safe options that are going to see 140+ targets a piece. The same can be said for Thielen, who reeled in 113 of his 153 targets in 2018 on his way to a WR7 ranking. Its worth noting he dropped a bit in the second half and ranked WR23 from weeks 9-17. The Vikings didnt add any pass catchers to compete with Diggs and Thielen, so a comparable season can be expected. The schedule is phenomenal with the only real tough games coming against the Bears. He still had success against them last year, however. I wouldnt go out of my way to reach for Thielen, but would certainly let him fall in my lap towards the late third round or early fourth.

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring), OG Josh Kline (concussion), DT Linval Joseph (knee) and S Anthony Harris (groin) were unable to practice Friday, Nov. 15, and have been ruled out for Week 11 against the Denver Broncos. S Andrew Sendejo (groin) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable. C Brett Jones (knee) did not practice for a second straight day Friday but has been removed from the injury report. DT Shamar Stephen (knee), CB Trae Waynes (ankle), CB Mackensie Alexander (groin), FB C.J. Ham (ankle), CB Xavier Rhodes (elbow), DE Ifeadi Odenigbo (shoulder), LB Eric Kendricks (hip) and DT Armon Watts (elbow) practiced in full Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) has officially been ruled out for Week 11 against the Broncos. The Vikes were keeping the door open for Thielen to play this weekend, but it didn't really make sense with the team's bye coming in Week 12. Fantasy owners should get Thielen back in Week 13. Stefon Diggs has disappointed the last two games with Thielen sidelined, and that could be the case again this week with Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. following him around. Diggs should be treated as a WR1/2, while Olabisi Johnson and Laquon Treadwell will fill out three-receiver sets. It's hard to get behind Johnson as a flex, even in deeper leagues.
Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) on Friday, Nov. 15, was ruled out of the team's Week 11 game against the Denver Broncos.
Fantasy Spin: It certainly doesn't help Thielen's fantasy teams right now who are fighting to qualify for the postseason, but it's no doubt the smart move for Thielen and the Vikings with the team's bye following in Week 12 and affording the wide receiver an extra week of recovery.
Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said that wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) has a chance to play in Week 11 against the Broncos despite the fact that he hasn't practiced yet this week. We'll believe it if Thielen returns to practice on Friday, but even then he'll likely be a long shot, especially with the chance to rest up even more during the Week 12 bye. If you own Thielen, you should be expecting him to sit again this weekend. Stefon Diggs has been shut down the last two weeks with Thielen hobbled, and that could continue this Sunday against Chris Harris Jr. and company. Olabisi Johnson is second on the depth chart, but he's a dice roll for fantasy production behind Diggs.
Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) has 'a chance' to play in Week 11 versus the Denver Broncos, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.
Fantasy Spin: Owners should consider it a five-percent chance. Thielen has already aggravated his hamstring once and Minnesota will be heading into its bye week in Week 12. Expect Thielen to return to action in Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) remained out of practice Thursday, Nov. 14, and it appears unlikely he will play Week 11 against the Denver Broncos.
Fantasy Spin: Thielen's chances of returning before the Vikings' Week 12 bye were essentially nixed when he tried to play but quickly re-aggravated things in Week 9, so don't expect to see Thielen until Week 13 at the earliest.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) remains out of practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday. It's becoming increasingly likely that the Vikings will hold Thielen out through their Week 12 bye week. Plan to be without him again in Week 11 against the Broncos. Denver's strong secondary could pose issues for quarterback Kirk Cousins and No. 1 wideout Stefon Diggs. Diggs has had two straight bad games with Thielen on the sidelines, and he's likely to be followed by shutdown cornerback Chris Harris Jr. in this one. Olabisi Johnson and tight ends Kyle Rudolph and Irv Smith Jr. should have bigger roles again, but they're hard to trust in fantasy starting lineups.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) missed practice on Wednesday. Thielen is headed for his second straight missed game with the team's bye week coming in Week 12. You should prepare to be without him in Week 11 against the Broncos. Stefon Diggs has had two slow weeks with Thielen injured, and that could continue this Sunday with Chris Harris Jr. expected to shadow him. Olabisi Johnson, Laquon Treadwell and tight ends Kyle Rudolph and Irv Smith Jr. should continue to see bigger roles in the passing game if Thielen misses another contest. Check with his practice status the rest of the week.
Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Fantasy Spin: Thielen did not play in the last game and probably will miss another game if he does not practice this week. Fantasy players should check on his status later in the week because he would be a risky option if he plays.
The Minnesota Vikings have declared WR Adam Thielen, SS Andrew Sendejo, DL Linval Joseph, CB Trae Waynes, OL Olisaemeka Udoh, C Brett Jones and OG Dru Samia inactive for Week 10.
After removing himself from the Vikings' Week 9 matchup, Thielen's status for this week was cloudy at best. He has officially been ruled out after not practicing on Friday. The hamstring injury that has bothered Thielen since Week 7 has not yet cleared up, and his status moving forward will remain murky until we begin to see positive practice reports. With the Vikings' Week 12 bye coming up, don't be surprised if the team plays things carefully and holds him out in Week 11. In his absence, Stefon Diggs will step in as the unquestioned number one receiver for Kirk Cousins on Sunday night against the Cowboys, who allow the sixth-fewest passing yards per game.
Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring), DT Linval Joseph (knee) and S Andrew Sendejo (groin) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 8, and have been ruled out for Week 10. CB Trae Waynes (ankle) missed practice and is listed as questionable. DE Stephen Weatherly (groin) was limited during practice and is listed as questionable. FB C.J. Ham (ankle), DE Ifeadi Odenigbo (shoulder), DT Shamar Stephen (knee), LB Eric Kendricks (hip) and CB Mike Hughes (knee) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.
Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) on Friday, Nov. 8, was ruled out of the team's Week 10 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy Spin: As expected and at least Thielen owners know ahead of time instead of starting him last week only to see the wideout depart after a few plays. Overall, it will go down as essentially the third straight absence for Thielen, meaning more looks for WRs Bisi Johnson and Laquon Treadwell and likely even TEs Kyle Rudolph and Irv Smith Jr.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) watched practice off to the side for the second straight day on Thursday. Thielen is not expected to play on Sunday night against the Cowboys after he aggravated his hamstring in the Week 9 loss to the Chiefs. There's also a chance the Vikings hold Thielen out next week against the Broncos with their Week 12 bye on the horizon. With Thielen out, Stefon Diggs will be the undisputed top target. He should have more than just one catch like he did last week, but Dallas will likely double team him in the absence of Thielen. Diggs is on the WR1/2 radar for the expected volume alone. Olabisi Johnson and Laquon Treadwell will round out three-receiver sets.
Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) did not participate in the team's practice Thursday, Nov. 7.
Fantasy Spin: Thielen left the Vikings' Week 9 game early without a catch after re-aggravating his hammy and has missed both of the team's practices this week. If he can't show any progress Friday, it'll be time to move him to the bench and lock another wide receiver into your Week 10 lineup.
Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 6.
Fantasy Spin: The Vikings said they will not rush Thielen back from the injury, so there is a decent chance that he will miss the Week 10 game. Fantasy players can monitor the situation over the next few days but should have other options available in case he is ruled out.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) is not practicing on Wednesday. Thielen isn't dealing with a long-term injury -- he could return as soon as Week 11 -- but he's not expected to play on Sunday night against the Cowboys after tweaking his hammy early in the Week 9 loss to the Chiefs. With a bye coming in Week 12, it's entirely possible the Vikes play it safe and hold Thielen out in Week 11 against the Broncos, too. Stefon Diggs will have WR1 upside as long as Thielen is out, while Olabisi Johnson and Laquon Treadwell will see increased roles in three-wide sets. Tight ends Kyle Rudolph and rookie Irv Smith Jr. will also be more involved in the passing game against Dallas.
Updating previous reports, Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) isn't believed to have a long-term injury, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. Zimmer also said Thielen wasn't brought back too soon, and the hamstring just grabbed on him in the game.
Fantasy Spin: Thielen has a rough matchup against the Dallas Cowboys this week. If he's fit to play, he'll be a WR2 in fantasy.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen's (hamstring) injury is not considered a "long-term" ailment, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. Zimmer said that Thielen was "not rushed back too soon" when he returned in Week 9, only to feel his hamstring grab on the first series of the game. Fantasy owners need to prepare to be without Thielen this Sunday night against the Cowboys, but he could return in Week 11 before the team's Week 12 bye. The Chiefs held Stefon Diggs to just one catch after Thielen left last week, but Diggs has legitimate WR1 upside with Thielen expected to miss another game. Olabisi Johnson and Laquon Treadwell should play in three-receiver sets.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen's (hamstring) strained hamstring is no worse after he aggravated it in Week 9 against the Chiefs, but sources say he's unlikely to play in Week 10 on Sunday night against the Cowboys. The Vikings bye is two weeks away and they often tend to err on the side of caution. Thielen played just a handful of snaps last Sunday before being ruled out, which was a tough pill to swallow for owners that started him. It's looking like you'll have to plan to be without him again this Sunday and possibly in Week 11 as well. Stefon Diggs should bounce back from his one-catch performance last week and has WR1 upside, while Olabisi Johnson and Laquon Treadwell should round out three-receiver sets if Thielen is indeed out.
