2019 RTSports Outlook

Vinatieri just keeps chugging along, making 85 percent of his field goals last year. He scored 113 points. He has made at least 85 percent of his field goals six straight seasons. Vinatieri is 46 years old but is going to kick another year. He hasn't slowed down much in recent years despite his age. His leg isn't quite as strong but he can still make some longer kicks as evident by going 4-of-6 on field goals of 50-plus yards last year. Vinatieri remains accurate and clutch, continuing to make game-winning kicks every season. Vinatieri has topped 100 points all but two seasons during his illustrious NFL career.

FANTASY OUTLOOK:   Vinatieri is a solid starter for fantasy teams. You have to worry about him slowing down at some point but the numbers don't lie. He produces for fantasy teams and remains a top-15 fantasy kicker. He can get 120 or so points in this offense.

Dec 9 10:53am ET

Indianapolis Colts PK Adam Vinatieri (knee) will undergo season-ending knee surgery and be placed on the Reserve/Injured list.

Fantasy Spin: He can be dropped in all leagues. Wait to see who the Colts bring in, and they could be a low-end option against the New Orleans Saints next Monday night.

Dec 6 5:13pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (calf), CB Kenny Moore (ankle) and PK Adam Vinatieri (knee) were unable to practice Friday, Dec. 6, and have been ruled out for Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. CB Rock Ya-Sin (ankle) also did not practice Friday but is listed as questionable. S Malik Hooker (foot) took part in a full practice Friday and is also listed as questionable. DL Denico Autry (rest), OT Anthony Castonzo (rest), DE Justin Houston (rest) and LB Darius Leonard (rest) were held out of practice Friday but do not appear on the injury report. S Clayton Geathers (rest), RB Marlon Mack (hand), TE Mo Alie-Cox (thumb) and WR Parris Campbell (hand) practiced in full Friday and have also been removed from the injury report.

Dec 6 2:33pm ET

Indianapolis Colts PK Adam Vinatieri (knee) on Friday, Dec. 6, was ruled out of the team's Week 14 game with a knee injury.

Fantasy Spin: No surprise as we've been trending in this direction all week, and we might've seen the last of the struggling Vinatieri for this season and his Hall of Fame career. Newly-signed PK Chase McLaughlin will handle the kicking duties Sunday.

From TheHuddle

Dec 6 2:10pm ET

Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri is out for Week 14 due to a knee injury. The Colts signed Chase McLaughlin earlier in the week and he will assume kicking duties for Indianapolis against the Tampa Bay Bucs. Vinatieri says that IR has not been discussed, so he can be seen as week-to-week for now. McLaughlin makes for a solid fill-in kicker for any fantasy teams looking to tweak their kicking game.

Dec 5 5:03pm ET

Indianapolis Colts CB Kenny Moore II (ankle), FS Malik Hooker (foot) and PK Adam Vinatieri (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 5. CB Rock Ya-Sin (ankle) was limited during practice. S Clayton Geathers (non-injury), TE Mo Alie-Cox (thumb) and WR Parris Campbell (hand) fully participate in practice.

From TheHuddle

Dec 5 2:00pm ET

Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri (knee) is unlikely to play in Week 14 against the Buccaneers after the team claimed kicker Chase McLaughlin off waivers on Wednesday. Vinatieri will turn 47 years old this month and has missed 14 total kicks this year, so McLaughlin could take over for him this weekend and finish out the year as the team's kicker. McLaughlin made seven of his eight kicks in his time for the 49ers filling in for Robbie Gould, and he could become a viable kicking streamer down the stretch in fantasy. Vinatieri, who has been a legendary kicker in his career, could be nearing the end.

Dec 5 12:50pm ET

Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri (knee) is on the injury report for Week 14 against the Buccaneers after his knee flared up in warmups this past Sunday. Vinatieri missed all three of his attempts from 55, 52 and 46 yards on Sunday, with two of them getting blocked. With Indy claiming kicker Chase McLaughlin off waivers on Wednesday, Vinatieri's status is very much up in the air for this Sunday. Vinatieri was limited in practice on Wednesday and isn't a good fantasy option, even if he's active this weekend. McLaughlin could become a worthy streaming consideration if he fills in at all for Vinatieri in the last four games.

Dec 4 4:13pm ET

Indianapolis Colts CB Kenny Moore (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Dec. 4. S Clayton Geathers (rest), S Malik Hooker (foot) and K Adam Vinatieri (knee) were limited. TE Mo Alie-Cox (thumb) practiced in full.

Nov 15 12:20am ET

Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri has been one of the NFL's worst kickers this year, but head coach Frank Reich remains confident in him. However, in Week 11 with the fantasy playoffs looming, you can't trust him in your lineups. He's missed five field goals and six extra points this season. He's below 80 percent accuracy in both categories, and this figures to be a low-scoring game. You just can't trot him out this week, as there are likely several options available that are better than him.

From RotoBaller

Oct 31 1:00am ET

Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri has been more inconsistent this season than ever before in his career. Despite that, you should still be starting him in Week 9. The Colts will be able to move the ball on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and that will put him in positions to score. This game figures to be relatively low-scoring, and we could see a lot of field-goal attempts if the red-zone defense holds up. Vinatieri may not be the consistent lock that he's always been, but he's good enough to be in your lineups this week.

From RotoBaller

Oct 20 5:50pm ET

Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri was flawless in Week 7 as he went 4-for-4 on extra-point attempts, but he was unable to get any field-goal opportunities because his offense was efficient at scoring touchdowns. He gives you a consistent option every week because his offense is able to move the ball, and he's been one of the more accurate kickers in NFL history. He'll have weeks like this where the offense scores more touchdowns than field goals, but that's something you'll have to live with.

From RotoBaller

Oct 17 11:30am ET

Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri has shaken off the struggles from the beginning of the season, and he's been rolling as of late. The Colts offense does a great job of moving the ball down the field, but they can struggle to put the ball into the end zone at times, which is where Vinny shines. He's not going to get you a lot of the long balls that you'll get from other younger kickers, but on the shorter end of things he's the best to ever do it.

From RotoBaller

Oct 7 12:20am ET

Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri was one of the team's MVPs in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs. He went 4-for-4 on his field goals, and he made his lone extra-point attempt. The Colts' offense struggles in the red zone under quarterback Jacoby Brissett at times, but Vinatieri is there to bail them out when that happens. With his accuracy issues solved, he remains one of the best and most consistent kickers in the game.

From RotoBaller

Oct 3 9:40pm ET

Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri is in a good spot to put up points this week. The Kansas City Chiefs allow 23.5 points per game, and the Colts are averaging 23.5 points per game. This is likely going to be a high-scoring matchup, and they have an over/under of 56 points for this week. High-scoring matchups mean that kickers are getting on the field more and more. If you have Vinatieri, get him out there.

From RotoBaller

Sep 29 6:20pm ET

Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri nearly tied his career-long in Week 4 with a 57 yard attempt. He just barely missed to the left, but he connected from 26 yards along with all three of his extra-point attempts. Vinatieri appears to have shaken off the struggles that he had during the first two weeks of the season, and he should be a fixture in most lineups moving forward with how the Colts offense is moving the football every week.

From RotoBaller

Sep 22 8:10pm ET

Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri had been arguably the worst kicker in the NFL through two weeks. Between field goals and extra points, he had missed five of his attempts. In Week 3, he got back to the best kicker in NFL history that he has been for his entire career. He went 2-for-2 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra-point attempts. Vinatieri has been one of the most consistent kickers in NFL history, and, after dealing with some injuries during the preseason, he looks like he is getting back to normal.

From RotoBaller

Sep 22 6:33pm ET

Indianapolis Colts PK Adam Vinatieri made each of his two field goal attempts, including a 49-yarder, and he was true on each of his three extra points in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Spin: It has been a struggle for the future Hall of Fame kicker, but the Colts stuck with him after two trying games and it was vintage Vinatieri in this one. As long as he is on his game he can still be a useful fantasy option. The Colts host the Raiders in Week 4.

From TheHuddle

Sep 17 10:20pm ET

The Indianapolis Colts worked out free-agent kickers Elliott Fry, Cody Parkey, Younghoe Koo, Greg Joseph, Cole Hedlund and Chase McLaughlin on Tuesday in the wake of Adam Vinatieri's struggles through two weeks. The 46-year-old veteran has made just one of his three field-goal attempts and two of his five extra points in 2019, and there were reports speculating that he might retire after Week 2. The Colts may have talked him out of it at least for another week, but he'll need to pick it up unless the team might go in another direction. Fantasy owners should stay away for now.
