Jacksonville Jaguars WR Laquon Treadwell was returned to the practice squad Monday, Oct. 18, after being on the active roster for the Week 6 game.
Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad WR Laquon Treadwell was elevated to the active roster Saturday, Oct. 16, and will be available for the Week 6 game.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Laquon Treadwell was elevated to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos. The 26-year-old spent training camp with the Jaguars but found himself on the practice squad to open the season. In 2020, he played in five games with the Falcons, catching six passes for 49 yards and a pair of touchdowns. It remains to be seen how much of a role the former first-round pick will have or if he will even be active. Jacksonville has a healthy receiving corps featuring D.J. Chark Jr., Laviska Shenault Jr., Marvin Jones Jr., Jamal Agnew, and Tyron Johnson.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Laquon Treadwell was elevated Saturday, Sept. 18, from the practice squad to the active roster.
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Duke Johnson, DB Brandon Rusnak, WR Devin Smith and WR Laquon Treadwell were designated as protected practice squad players for Week 1 on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
Free-agent WR Phillip Dorsett, WR Devin Smith, WR Laquon Treadwell, WR Jeff Cotton, WR Josh Hammond, DT Doug Costin, OG KC McDermott, OG Tre'Vour Wallace-Simms, OT Badara Traore, RB Devine Ozigbo, RB Nathan Cottrell, S Brandon Rusnak and CB Lorenzo Burns were signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad Wednesday, Sept. 1.
Jacksonville Jaguars CB Lorenzo Burns, WR Jalen Camp, WR Jeff Cotton, RB Nathan Cottrell, TE Tyler Davis, TE Ben Ellefson, WR Josh Hammond, WR Collin Johnson, WR Tevin Jones, QB Jake Luton, OG KC McDermott, RB Devine Ozigbo, OL Austen Pleasants, S Brandon Rusnak, OT Badara Traore, and OG Tre'Vour Wallace-Simms were waived Tuesday, Aug. 31. The team also released WR Pharoh Cooper, OT Jermaine Eluemunor, WR Devin Smith, WR Laquon Treadwell and S Jarrod Wilson, placed S Josh Jones (undisclosed) on the Reserve/Injured list and placed LB Dylan Moses (knee) on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.
Former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Laquon Treadwell is set to be waived, per Jamal St. Cyr of News4Jax. Treadwell, a former first-round draft choice of the Minnesota Vikings, has struggled to find opportunities at the NFL level over the last few seasons. Treadwell's release bodes well for Collin Johnson, and to a lesser extent, Tavon Austin. Should Johnson make the team, he looks like the presumptive favorite for the Jaguars No. 4 receiver job with Treadwell and Phillip Dorsett II out of the picture. Treadwell's fantasy prospects are practically nonexistent with Week 1 fast approaching, and it would be a surprise if he made any team's 53-man roster.
The Jacksonville Jaguars released wide receiver Laquon Treadwell on Tuesday. The 2016 first round pick signed with the team this past June and wasn't able to do enough to earn a roster spot for the season. DJ Chark Jr., Marvin Jones Jr. and Laviska Shenault Jr. will be the team's top three receivers going into the year while second-year receiver Collin Johnson could carve out a role as well. Treadwell has yet to find any success in the NFL. Over four years in the league, he's caught just 71 passes for 750 yards and four touchdowns. Half of his four touchdowns came last year in his lone season with the Atlanta Falcons.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, a former Minnesota Vikings first-round pick, is impressing in camp with other wideouts sidelined by injuries. Per Jamal St. Cyr of News4Jax, "Treadwell has consistently made plays throughout training camp and has positioned himself firmly in the Jaguars wide receiver conversation." This news is interesting because Phillip Dorsett II and Collin Johnson were the presumed favorites for the fourth WR job. Treadwell's performance is also surprising because he's struggled to make any real impact at the NFL level in his first five NFL seasons. It's possible that Treadwell can shock the world and overtake them if he keeps performing, but it's more likely that he makes the team as the fifth WR on the depth chart if he does indeed make the roster. Treadwell is firmly off the radar in fantasy drafts this summer.
The Jacksonville Jaguars signed free-agent wide receiver Laquon Treadwell to an undisclosed deal on Friday after he tried out for the team at minicamp. In a corresponding move, wide receiver Jon'Vea Johnson was waived. Treadwell was a first-round pick (23rd overall) by the Minnesota Vikings in 2016 out of Mississippi, but he never lived up to his first-round billing catching just 65 of his 107 targets for 701 yards and two touchdowns in 53 games (16 starts) over his four years with the team. The 26-year-old caught just six passes for 49 yards in five games with the Atlanta Falcons last season, but he did produce a career-high two touchdowns. With a crowded wide receiver room in Jacksonville, Treadwell will have to prove himself in training camp in order to make the final roster. He can be ignored in fantasy.
Free-agent WR Laquon Treadwell (Falcons) signed an undisclosed deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars Friday, June 18. WR Jon'Vea Johnson was waived.
Free-agent WR Laquon Treadwell (Falcons), CB Simeon Thomas (Washington), CB KeiVarae Russell (Packers) and OT Jerald Hawkins (Steelers) are participating in the Jacksonville Jaguars minicamp this week on a tryout basis.
